I bought it new which was a mistake, it's great if you just want to drive but does have some big problems. Career mode is repetitive and some of the challenges are pretty much impossible on a controller. It took the developers years to add basic features (like changing button mapping on the controller) and the console version was always behind the PC when it came to updates. It felt like it was being run with minimum effort whilst the developers looked after the PC customers.

Thanks for the info.

It’s better than PC2 so far, but I find it rather strange that a stock Mazda Miata spins out at 60km/h while only applying half throttle? Spins seem almost uncatchable so far as well, it’s an interesting game at least. :)

Back to the daily grind. Got the Beetle cleared first try this morning, then ended up in a super dirty race in the AMG where I met this fella.

Yeah I did lag touch him at 0:55 but really he was all over the place and I left him plenty room. Thus he drives me off next corner not leaving any room whatsoever then waits for me, not to give the position back, nope dirty punch before quitting.
Later another driver bumped me off right before the penalty zone without getting a penalty. At least I got the crb after all that.

Third race was in the Mustang, crb on first attempt, finally a clean race with only one red rating at the end :)

Created a new user to be used on the Europe servers. However do I need another ps+ subscription? And if not, how do I link it to my original account?

yep, good to go! just create a new user on the PS4 and go through the various steps - the only thing you do need is a different email address.... and patience to go through building up some cash to buy a car!! I only have the Megane on my US account so far, plus a couple of other freebie road cars that i'll never use.
See you on the other side bro

Run the track challenges for fast cash and cars

I got up to a clean streak of 5. 6th race, trouble. A front runner got sent to the back and ended up right on my tail while I was still stuck behind a bunch of wobbly cars lap 2. The car in front of me enters turn 4 weird, I have to avoid, then decide to leave the door open for the front runner to squeeze through on my inside. No problem, he can drive. The car drafting behind him can not and bumps me off into the gravel, I get SR Down grrr. Then the next one bumps me off before the penalty zone and doesn't get a penalty either. I lost it for a moment and punted him off hard at the sharp left, was worth the 5 sec penalty. He, I witnessed a rare justified penalty!!!

I did another lap to see how fast the Supra goes (not that fast) then sat the rest of the race out in the pit and still finished ahead of him since he quit later... Another saw tooth SR driver. I lost 7 SR no problem.

Time to head out, the weekend drivers are awake and the races are quickly deteriorating. The one before was a lag festival where I had to pull over twice to let the door banging 2 and 3 bar connections go ahead while stuck behind more 3 bar bangers. I don't want to be in between that, no thanks.

lag ? Talk about lag to the players who play with a account from the other side of planet ? People crying about lag but they play on America server from New Zeland lollll . If the server are separated it is for this exact reason LAG . So maybe if people stop creating account on other side of planet it would help

This is not really applicable. If you are on the east coast of USA you might very well have a much faster connection to Europe than to Chile. Also, why would I in Scandinavia have a better connection with South Africa than someone in Asia?

Sven is referring to the North America connected to South America lag. Often half the grid is all green and the other half is red. Depending on which server is being used. It's a thing. He's posted a lot of video supporting this.

Being on the west coast of NA, I'm 5k miles from Tokyo, and 5.2k miles from London, UK.
But I'm 6k miles from Brasilia, Brazil, and 6.5k miles from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

I have seen any problems yet with my new Asian account.

I'm not sure how it all works but since you're on their server it might be you doing "the shuffle". You may not notice.

I've watched a few replays of myself where I thought others were driving questionably. And it turned out it was probably because i was jumping around without even knowing due to lag.

The one race I did this morning I was in 4th. The car in 5th was invisible for the first 2 laps. I could see by the time board they were right behind me but I could only see the car in 6th, etc.. in my mirror or with the rear view button. Ironically I hit the car in 6th off the road. And finished last.

Catalunya is obviously not one of my stronger tracks.
Today, I tried some of the cars people on here have been using.

All assits off apart from ABS default.

Evo - 1:47.550. I haven't used this car much. Did 10 laps here today. Felt ok. Deffo more time in it.
Mazda - 1:47.258. Can see why people have been using it. Maybe 10 laps in this too.
Merc AMG - 1:47.242. Never used this car in sport mode before. 50 odd laps. I liked it here, but couldn't dip below 1:47. BB at -1 for my best lap. I couldn't quite tell if I preferred it at plus or minus BB. Maybe I just need to stick to one BB setting and bash out some more laps in it.

Jumped in the Audi......1:46.715. Finally! 50 odd laps. Optimal is 1:46.219. Car felt good here. I enjoyed it post-update at Maggoire too. Didn't rate it at Sardegna C.

I wanted to do some races ths week, but I might as well take the opportunity to test some more Group 3 cars out.

More fun in Spain ... Started 13th and I set a goal of 10th or better. Did not commit properly on the curb in the last chicane and bounced around. So heads down and slid trough the field. Well, you have to look at the ending ! ... Hint : Photofinish ...

@NevilleNobody, you're good.

I respectfully disagree. Since this isn't a CNN forum, telling it like it is, is perfectly fine. Not everyone with an observation is a racist or a xenophobe.

I said the same thing about people from USA. Why didn't you call me out for talking 🤬 about the white people? Take it elsewhere.

Nothing personal. I've never had any problems with you. I like Lurch.
One thing is saying that people from a certain country tend to race dirty IN the game and another is to pile up al the people from South America and saying that it's because they live in a dog eats dog society. That's disrespectful. I'm from South America and I'm, or at least try, to be the most conscious drivers in the game and in real life.
Oh and thank you for not having any problem with me, it means the world.

A couple of points at this juncture.

Firstly, the first thing isn't okay at all, as anyone who lazily stereotypes entire nations in this way in this thread finds out. Secondly "South America" wasn't mentioned, and when someone from Canada says "friends from down south", there's not an awful lot of the planet outside that scope, including just about all of the USA.

However, most importantly this:

These kind of stereotypes should at least receive a warning from mods but I know this forum is beyond ok with blatant xenophobia.
Is utter bollocks.

I know this because I've reminded people in this thread about this. This is from three months ago:

There has not been a change of rules.

It is entirely reasonable to refer to the nationality (or region) of a driver with whom you have had interactions - positive or negative. There's no innate lack of value in noting it. I had a nice race the other day with a Polish driver on my FIA EMEA account, but I had a less than nice race with a Costa Rican driver on my US account.

It is not reasonable to refer to drivers of that nationality (or region) with a blanket negative stereotype. Aside from the confirmation bias, it's rude and has always been against the GTPlanet rules. And we are GTPlanet, not GTEnglishspeakingcountries or GTNorthamerica. We have members here from the nations that people often like to make comments about. Do you think that it makes the site and its members seem more welcoming and friendly when they read these comments?
And this is from two months before that:
Germans are the Brazilians of Europe.
Lol whut? I always found it to be hit or miss with the Mediterraneans (except the Greeks. Good people) and them Russians always looking to kick off WW3. I bet they've got a room of full-time rammers hidden somewhere in the Kremlin.
Yeah for me, I always start to freak out when I have a spanish or a russian in front or behind me. I think in my 20 races so far, I have seen one russian driving clean, and 2 spanish. My SR is locked at 72 because of french and spanish on the Nurburgring.
And I think that's pretty much cemented the "everywhere has people who drive dirty and the ones you notice and remember are the ones you want to notice and remember" confirmation bias.

So let's drop the incredibly casual stereotyping and slurs and move on.

Edit: I don't believe that was open to interpretation...
Interestingly, despite the post you've taken umbrage at appearing on the site on Friday and you posting a response to it some 22 hours ago, I cannot see a Report from you in the Report queue about it.

This all means that you've made absolutely no effort whatsoever to bring this post to the attention of anyone who could have done something about it and, despite me reminding users about this type of behaviour at semi-regular intervals in this thread, decided that we actually think the exact opposite of what I've said and publicly accused us of it.

That's disrespectful.
Isn't it just?

I have the solution to the ever increasing aggressive full contact racing. Every time you get a red dot or red SR at the end of the race, you have to re-watch the etiquette videos before being able to enter a new race. Perhaps then people will grow tired of door banging, diving and corner cutting.

First attempt in the Supra this evening I had to pull over a couple times and eventually just let the whole field pass again. No point in trying to race between whatever that was supposed to be. I still lost the crb for avoiding a diver who just served a penalty. I had to jump the line and park there to wait for him to recover and figure out which way to go. My DR is taking a beating but I refuse to partake in all the door banging.

It doesn't really matter where the server is as long as the server is roughly between the players. Everything is handled on the clients, the server simply sends the data packets through. Of course when the server is in Brazil, 2 Canadian drivers in the same room will lag a lot towards each other. But between a Canadian and Brazilian it will be the same as when the serve is further north.

Well, 3 races this evening, the first I got clubbed off at turn 1 from 3rd on the grid, and ended up 7th after ending lap 1 in 20th, so happy with my recovery, but sadly went from "S" to "A" with my SR.......I started to think that a revised livery on my Hamster Merc, and being on race win 13, was bringing me bad luck............. :(

But in the second race, a pole to flag victory, a close opening few laps, and half way around lap 2 I realised I'd forgotten to turn the mix down from 1, so had to fuel save until about lap 7, then went for it over the last few laps, and won by 17 seconds in the end, with my fastest lap of the week on a 1:47.7, a great boost after the first race problems.

Then race 3, again started from pole, but race long pressure from 2nd and 3rd behind all the way, but managed the fuel better this time around, and with a bit of "HammyTime", I pulled away on lap 9, then eased back over the last half lap to get a second win on the bounce, happy with that, and back in the "S" group again!! :D

A bit sad that this ends tomorrow, I've had some great races over the past few days, I hope I see some of you on Sunday evening for a race or 4! :D
