What fuel map + car combos are people working with? Are you short shifting also?

Anyone got tips for the NSX and Porsche?

I've qualified 1st - 4th on a 1:46.4 with the Lambo, but I don't think its the right car for the race. Both flat out or fuel saving don't seem to get massive results.

I did have fun in the F-Type. Sips fuel, even when pushing and it's pretty quick.

Oooooh interesting. I had fun with the Jag around the Willow a few weeks back. Maybe she can have another outing.

Having said that, I neither own or have driven either of the NSXs (.3 or .4) so I'm tempted to go shopping. Worst comes to worst, it'll just be a blank canvas for a new livery.

I tried a few cars in Race C Q (458, F-Type, Viper, Genesis) and I'm fastest with the NSX. Stable but nimble even through the chicane of death :) .

Got my first win in Race C. The race wasn’t much. Got pole and stayed there. When the race was over, I got a 19 sec lead. I got constant 48s to 49s. Others barely got 49s and 50s

These races really depend on what you want out of it. Cayman was fine either conserving or flat out.
I've never understood why every time there's a gr4 race C people don't shout CAYMAN from the rooftops.
For tire fuel handling speed, IMO it's been one of the very best overall packages for a very long time.
Having said that, I probably still won't touch it all week. There's just far more fun cars to choose from.

Last night decided to try race C.

Quick but satisfying qualy session, happy with my current 1:46.3XX (Lambo), but I lifted a bit much on the chicane of death, I am sure I could shave a couple tenths if I give it enough time.

Entered just one race. A field full of B/S, started P1 (hooray!), driving the Lambo to the max, slowly built about 5s gap to P2, had to stop for fuel in lap 5 or 6, can't remember. Noone pitted with me, then next lap everybody does, except one guy in a Jag. I was lucky I didn't get traffic in my out lap, and with 4 laps to go, Jag had about 6s advantage. Made some small but costly mistakes and could reach him but not close enough to pass. Finished P2 0.9s behind, one more lap would've been enough, oh well. Maybe I don't change tyres next time.

After ending my Catalunya week with a pretty poor performance, only fighting P10 during saturday and sunday races, decided to focus on DT this week. Was off work yesterday, so got plenty of time to drive. Managed 1.46.719 for qualy in a GTR. I feel it faster than the other cars I tried, on race i just drive it flat out pitting in lap 5 or 6 depending on traffic and track position. Got some podiums and a win :) Maybe I´ll try Maggiore today if I have some time

No short shifts and fuel economy?

Seaside is interesting, the importance of being able to rotate as you exit is hurting the FF brigade and they are not so crazy dominant here. Feel like I am leaving a solid 3/4 second on the table with a 1.48 flat in qualy, will aim to improve tonight.

Not a fan of the winning strategy being fuel saving, it's just zero fun, should at least be able to use mediums here to even the playing field.

Anyways, absolute CRACKING battle below, the 1 on 1 action starts at the 11.30 mark then slow burns until 18.30 where it goes all kinds of good, apologies for my habit of cycling back to take a look at my lines and possible contact but damn this is one heck of a fight. You can see the exit understeer killing the TT but then it's straight line speed makes up for it.

Having a go at the A race this morning. Perhaps it is my growing distaste for the track or maybe i am just not feeling it in generall today. Best time so far is a 1.06.305 and haven't had a opt that was much better. Having fun on the track though even fighting for 4th, and that's what matters right?

As far as I'm aware, it's considered nerfed because it annihilates its tyres. The car has a tendency to step out at the rear ever so slightly and slide around corners, and this makes it very fast if controlled properly but munches up the rears something fierce.

The R8 used to be a great qualifying car and a great race car, but now it's not so great a pick for races with tyre wear. Hope that makes sense for ya.

Actually it does but I would assume most of the heavier cars have worse tire wear too. But yes, tire wear is a big factor, and one of the bigger factors of why I like the Alfa 4C Gr.4. It's not only very quick on certain tracks, but it's amazing on tire wear which gives it a big advantage in FIA races, even if it doesn't have the best pace.

Trying to get my Race C quali time into the 45's, but can't get a mistake free lap done. Although the Huracan feels faster I could only get it through the chicane without lifting around 1 in 8 attempts. I'd always clip a wall somewhere, on occasion hitting all the walls! Switching to the NSX was more like 1 in 3 attempts, so a little more consistent. A 1:46.0 will do though :)

I was having a great battle with a Mustang until I came in too hot and went off. Which was all fine and dandy- par for the course for me these days. However, I was already laggy and then I encountered this Chilean who was lagging even worse. And I thought the chicane of death was tough with regular traffic!

In both cars you get eaten alive in races though, they only work if you 100% mind your own business and play the long game, as soon as you try and race they lose too much momentum and pace unless on ideal lines.

I am addicted to NMS atm, great game.

Yep it is. I didn't race this morning but played no man's sky with my 10 year old. Even more fun in co-op. VR is pretty blurry yet very cool.

I guess I'll try the Cayman later. I'm not that fond of GR.4 however. I'm browsing through all the cars and don't really have any favorites in GR.4.

It seems there is a large portion of mostly Huracáns for this weeks Daily Race C. During the many hours I've attempted the race I've observed that the RC F and NSX are good at managing fuel, as well as the Mégane, I've seen them get through the whole 10 laps without pitting in fairly decently.

The car I've used, the WRX, seems to struggle on the straights in Dragon Trail. As for fuel management, there wasn't much difference between pitting in or finishing the race in one stint.

Worked like a charm. Just started too far down.

Good work with the Cayman, I was at the race. It's definitely an underrated vehicle for the job.

That, my friend, is awesome racing.

Opinions on the Porsche for a no stop strategy in daily race C? I’ve been using it and it needs some pretty aggressive fuel saving at times I would say! Although I’m consistently finishing top 3-5 from outside the top 10 with the no stop in it!

Works really well. Shift up shortly after the rev bar comes into view and you're good for the race distance with a little to spare for overtakes and defending. Stay out of trouble as much as possible (conceding positions if you have to) until others pit on laps 5/6 when things become much easier.

I find the NSX a little better than the Porsche but it can come down to preference. The Porsche handles really nicely while the NSX can get a little more tail happy, but it is slightly better on fuel.

Thanks man! I’ll give the NSX a try and see how it feels! After an awful day of races yesterday today is much better

My first 3 races in Race C of the week in the F-Type Jaguar, and tales of missed chances.....

Race 1, started 8 and finished 6th, should've been more, but my tyres went away, and I just couldn't catch 4th and 5th in front of me...I pitted on lap 6 for fuel, but still had to manage it til the end, as it was only a splash 'n dash! But not bad for a first attempt, and learning how this race works with the fuel margin etc...

Race 2, again started 8th, and got bumped down to last at turn 3, lap 1...Down to 19th place, so decided to stay out, and trundle around with no stop, boring as hell haha! 9th was the result!

Race 3, and started 4th this time around, and got up to second out of the turn 2/3 chicane....Then was pushing the leader hard, and on lap 3 started to feel more confident, and the video will show......But then........

If there's something that really annoys me, it's this kind of behaviour....God knows how they get an "S" rating!!, and sure it's been said here a million times already, but they didn't even get a penalty from it! I pitted straight after the foul, for fuel and tyres, came out last, and just drove my Hamster nuts off, and got 4th place, with the rammer finishing ahead of me in 3rd, there's justice for you..... :(

But anyway, on to the next races later, feeling like I'm understanding how Race C works now....Next race, I want a podium at least, but that depends on the other competitors, it's quite a wild bunch in these races this week.

I feel that the Toyota Supra is a good choice for Lago Maggiore Race B for this week.
Actually got on the podium after starting 6th and then of course was slotted into a strong Lobby with S/S in the top as well as A+/A and A/A. That put me 13th on the grid but I clawed myself up to 10th and I was pleased with that.
I'm now up on DR 27,596 and looking at the possibility to break into A driver territory for the first time. Not sure I want that tho as it would mean many more races from behind :-)
