You make it sound like those 91 wins were given to me on a platter. I fought hard to get them. Am I proud of doing what I did to make it easier to get them? No! I didn't intend to start this backlash.

I was being honest when I said that I just wanted to play against people of skill levels compared to mine. I had some pretty amazing fights and most importantly I had fun.

That’s because I’m assuming that they were. In what world does racing against even competition equate to a nearly a 90% Win rate? Just think about that for a minute.

You're not racing people at your skill level - hence the numbers. You're buying wins against inferior drivers.

Bingo in F1 yes, we're not playing F1 though. Plus getting ahead at corner exit by taking a line that looks like you're going to miss the corner exit can't be what that rule intended. That would be the same as saying you established overlap by a dive bomb and thus have corner rights, even though you'll shoot by the apex and might not even make the corner without 'help' of the other car.

If anything can be 'learned' from the etiquette videos is that you always have to leave room for the other cars in GT Sport. One car left a ton of room, the other didn't leave any. It's still the duty of the overtaking car to avoid contact. (And it's the duty of the car being passed not to perform a desperate block by diving to the inside at corner exit, but that was not the case here)

In this instance the "offender" didn't miss the corner, they drove through it cleanly. As I said earlier, what happens after that can't be understood without seeing the traces in car. If that person is an F1 fan, they see no issue with that move. Later videos suggest that person is a **** but in that one off it's a very common and predictable outcome.

The etiquette videos are ignored by the majority of players. There are a minority of players like us who believe in leaving racing room for other cars and want to race in the right spirit, as we see it. In the one make series in particular, where the speed differential isn't great, you're going to see more contact. And perhaps more dubious driving standards.

I think most of the people here are on the same page when it comes to aspirations of driving standards but you don't need to spend much time in game to be seeing how the rest think.

@Dairyworker @O604 @Granadier

Do you guys also have the intermittent issue with the break pedals on your G29 not going all the way 100% when you fully depress the breaks. Sometimes my fully depressed break pedal only registers 50% on the HUD indicator. When this happens I quit to the menu and calibrate the pedals by pressing them to the maximum. This solves the issue. I've removed the rubber stopper, ran it for a few months without it but replaced it as there is too much dead zone at the end of the pedal. It really sucks that we do not have the option to calibrate the wheel and pedals in Gt Sport. I do not have this issue in AC, Dirt Rally, Project cars 1 and 2.

@Outspacer has a solution to the break pedal issue. It involves adding resistors to the break pedal wiring.
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...ch-g-wheel-owner.279149/page-15#post-11771763
I've definitely had situations where I go, "What the eff is with my brakes!?" where it seems like they just aren't biting or working right during a race. I haven't looked at the read-out when that happens though as I'm usually panicking through a slide off the track, but it'd make sense that the pedal wasn't calibrated since I sometimes forget to fully press it before before racing. Will try and snag a reply if it happens again to see if it's the same issue you're seeing.

Also have seen Outspacer's post about the resistor. Sim Racing Garage has a video about adjusting the deadzone as well, but it only works on PC. Outpacer's would be a good solution to getting the full range of travel for the pedal on PS4, but not sure if I'm ready to dig into a resistor solution just yet. I have the GTEye spring and removed the rubber stopper which has made the pedal feel much better.

Sorry for the diversion from normal daily race talk.

You have not been racing against people with comparable skill level. Looking at your qualifying times you should be competing mid DR.B at the least, 20K DR or higher, yet your DR has never exceeded 5K. But I don't doubt you had good fights at the front since it's very common to keep your ratings low for easier races, DR and SR. In effect you have been racing people with similar skills :)

Another fault of PD, DR resets, they only encourage this, as well as the botched matchmaking which favors putting faster people with lower SR in front of slower people with higher SR. (Matchmaking works top to bottom, SR 90-99 with highest DR first. If not enough entries to fill the lowest DR selection in 90-99, it will add the highest DR players in 80-89 range to fill the room. Hence the mismatched rooms) The whole system encourages keeping your ratings low if you're looking for victories.

I can't blame you. PD delivered a botched DR/SR system and added trophies which encourage making full use of the botched system. The only thing I will fault you with, how do you keep your SR that low. That requires a lot of penalties! Clean it up :)

Now the hard part is not getting discouraged switching to a more normal win ratio of 6% when your DR starts reflecting your actual speed. And it will likely drop lower since driving in SR.S often rewards you with competition that will have you starting at the back of the pack. However doing well in a fast clean lobby (gaining a few position or simply maintaining your spot in a tight field) feels so much better than winning a dirty race from the front!

For what it's worth, the broken penalty system is fully geared to leaving room at all times and not bumping other people off the road. So if people ignore the etiquette videos, penalties for bumping people off road are deserved.

It's a shame that PD didn't put some effort into racing standards for online. Watching 2 videos is a joke. Completing the circuit experience should be required for entering that track online, plus the driving school should have some actual overtaking lessons, driving side by side and what is acceptable when getting passed. Maybe next version.

In my opinion it's not too late this version. They just need to show people the right way to race. A few more videos should be enough.

I think those that watch the World Tour for instance know contact isn't allowed because they watch others race, hear the commentators and read comments about it afterwards.

Most people with motor sport history or have watched a lot also know because they've seen it in real life.

But I'm guessing there's still a large chuck of people who don't know how to race non-AI opponents because they have never seen how. They're just doing what they did against AI.

The fault of the game is it assumes if one is fast they possess equal racing skill. But to be fair I think it works about 80% of the time which is pretty good in my opinion.

After several races on the EMEA server, I switched profiles and did a Nations race on the NA server. I tried to switch back to my new account after that and now it won’t let me open GT Sport without creating another PSPlus account. I tried logging in with my alternate NA account that I’ve used a ton of times, and it’s locked out too! When I’m on any profile other than my main one, a small lock icon appears on the game icon, meaning I don’t have access.

Anyone have this issue before? I have no idea why it was working before and now it’s not. Please halp!

Its usually because your console isn't activated on that second account.

The lock symbol happens when you're on an account that isn't the primary owner of those games & is also not activated on the same console as your primary account.

So just make sure the accounts are all activated (especially your primary account) and it should unlock the games, possibly restore licenses too but you shouldn'tneed to.

Hi all, just thought I'd share my humble little set up as I've been a little bit under the weather this week. Set a QT of 1:30.406 I believe at Brands on Monday (and didn't even get to race with it :irked:). I knew I could shave a little bit more off that too. Anywho, here's my little prime piece of real estate in the living room. Oh yeah, don't mind the Florida State chair (not really a fan). I broke my UGA chair a few weeks back .

75" t.v.
T-150 Pro and any seat in the house low enough and comfortable

Awesome thanks. Figured it out from a friend right before checking this and I’m up and running again.

Also, I see you made it to the NA top split Nations race a bit ago. Well done getting there. I’m usually in the bottom half but occasionally sniff a top 10 or the very rare top 5 in the weaker ones. Managed 9th today, debating going again. Keep it clean and I’ll be seeing more of you.

Im definitely going again, only got 800 points, salvaged 14th from 19th with the TS050, but I cant compete with those guys in that session and its costing me the opportunity to get more points from slightly lower lobbies.

And no worries, glad to see you got it figured out.

Oh this game. I did one arcade race on heavy wet tires on Thursday, now it started me on heavy wet tires on Brand's hatch :banghead: Why do you even have the option to race on rain tires in a dry race. 1:38 lap times don't cut it in the A+/S lobby

1:31 laps don't do it either. Finished last again. So much for using the Huracan in a 4C / Trophy race. I did pass one 4C, who bumped me off a lap later. He waited for me to recover, not sure if he didn't get a penalty for waiting or if it's simply broken. Anyway all hope of catching up with more cars was gone and he passed me later in T1. The 4C can take that corner better, I hit the apex perfectly, used all the room at the outside and the 4C simply pulled up on my inside lol. Clean race bonus at least.

The room is actually open now for pre race practice, Racing starts at 9pm EST. Happy Saturday Everyone!

I got run off 3 times in race B by a guy in a Viper. He blamed the car so I jumped in one and raced him. He quit.
But the Viper turned out to be fun!

Now that it's not 03:30 I can write a little more. My Qt is still 1:32:02x, set with the Mégane Trophy, but the Viper I run at 1:32:5, the closest I have been with any car.
I am having troubles with running as a momentum car, so I need grunt and power to make up for my slower cornering.
I guess I just need to git gud.

282 races entered for only 114 finished.

@wicken, I will commend you for proving just how easy those trophies are if somebody really really reeeally wants them that badly.
I think for some folks it detracts from the enjoyment of the game having what may seem like an absolutely impossible task that they feel they'll never complete.
I've also got to say well done on achieving your goal. Regardless of how you did it, bowling that over in just two weeks is impressive efficiency.
Anyway, time to get serious now and just enjoy the game while playing to the best of your ability. 👍

That's the plan now buddy ;)

Started off with a gifted win. During the warm up, a SLophy divebomed me into T2. I'm like, "Seriously?". Turns out, it starts ahead of me, with an 86 on Pole. Race starts. BOOM! Slophy divebombs the 86 at, you guessed it, T2. SO, the 86 is definitely going for revenge. T4, it exacts that revenge and escorts the SLophy to the grass. 86 gets 5 seconds, but in my view, it was worth it.

All in all, I found the MR cars hard to drive at 10/10ths. It's like I had to be exact or I was on the brink of skidding. I don't tinker with BB and I've been driving with TCS Off this week. The Cayman gearing is all wrong. If momentum is lost, goodbye to your position. Had a train of 4 cars just pass me as I slowed to be nice. However, the NSX did feel the lightest to maneuver.
Also, tough race in the McLaren. Had to push push push to keep my position. Hard work in that thing.

Other than the WRX, this thing is a breeze. Slot it into 3rd and nobody is catching it out of corners. The only car to beat my WRX qualy time. Lowered it by 0.150.
TT wasn't as stable as the Megane. Plus, doesn't have that punch in power.
I'll continue to bang on about the Scirocco having the best off-throttle tuck in, of all the Gr.4 cars.

Final race for this week. My 27th start sees me join the SLophy Cup. May as well keep things french with the "Peugotti".

Welp, lost 13th right at the line. Undesteered after slowing for what was looking like a Slophy pile up in the final corner. Just stinky. Rear tyres in the dirt and grass and front tyres on the tarmac down the straight. Car just couldn't dislodge itself. Was flooring it all the way to the line and a C7 just got me from about 5 seconds back. "Peugotti", your name is now "Pepe le Peugeot".

Well done on your good week. I tried a good few of those machines. For consistent speed, easy cornering and the ability handle racing incidents (slowing, swerving and racing off line) I’ve enjoyed the Scirocco most. It’s disappointing because I was looking forward to something like the Ferrari for fun after Autopolis last week. Q time down to 1:30.7 which puts me in the region +2.5% which is my usual target.

Still, I lost 5K points because I over performed last week, went to a new DR high and the PD DR system is now correcting that and bringing me back to where I belong. See, it does work sometimes.

jeez... where did you see that? I tried a few laps on wets and that wasn't too bad apart from the tight hairpin - but i used TCS 2 - not sure how i'd cope with intermediates though

GT League has a race on intermediates in the rain at Tokyo, it's not that bad. I did it with the GR.3 Huracan for practice for this week although it was the wrong version of the track. The other GT League race on the long Tokyo track is on sports tires which do pretty well in the rain. It's the Ferrari festival race and the GR.3 Ferrari feels pretty good on sport tires in the rain. Of course then I had to do it with La Ferrari as it kept zooming by me on the straights from 5 seconds back like I was hardly moving. I maxed out it's power and it reaches 392 kph on the straight, then you have to start braking long before the distance signs  All that speed and still only 2:03 laps not hitting any walls.

I used TC2 which helps a lot coming out of the hairpin. The rest of the track is a bit slippery but it seems easy to catch all the slides on intermediates, fun drifting through the high speed section. It's probably going to be chaos on Monday, the fun kind. Brake a bit earlier and you should be fine. The tire wear is so low you could do the whole race on heavy wets, yet it seems PD is suggesting intermediates will be faster.

Too bad we don't know the actual settings so I can check my lap times with different cars, gonna check anyway. Time for some rain!

Wait, it says tire racing: heavy wet, does that mean you have no choice at the start and have to pit to switch to intermediates? I'm confused.

I haven't lost that much, but it seems I've been punished for doing too well in the last two weeks as well. All this week I've been doing race B and achieving slowly plus SR and slowly minus DR, I keep getting gridded at P8 - P13 in fields that are gridding pretty much at their ability level. It seems that most places are gained by other drivers binning it or getting binned.
On the plus side, I've had more CRB's this week than any other time I can remember.
