Sorry, I’m new to GTS and haven’t raced online yet...

Do we know which car will be used for next week’s Race A, or do we have to wait until the week starts?

Oh snap. I'm old to GTS and I didn't catch that. A one make GR.4 ???

That could drastically change how much and which race I'll be doing next week. Not touching race A if it's the GT-R :yuck:


Hmm which car shall I use this evening. Porsche is nice but I don't feel like driving a black livery today. AMG always feels so uninterested in the race but it has a nice livery. Maybe something red or yellow.

I'm back on C practice now, struggling to see where to find time. You know sometimes you'll do laps and try different things and you'll suddenly find a line or something that gives you a chunk of time? I'm not seeing that. Low 23s seems far off.

I know exactly that! And I managed it this morning. Think I knocked 0.3 off my optimal in my 20-30 minutes getting to 1:23.5. I found it mainly in the second left hander on the lap (T5?). Making sure I clip the kerb and getting the power fully down early, the braking point into it is always hard to judge for me though.

Your times always seem to be very similar to mine (though you did me at Le Mans a couple of weeks ago!), what you at at the moment?

The game put me in P2 with a lot of D drivers! One GT-R in front of me and another one behind. I overtake the guy on the right before the bridge, the guy who was third is now second. He overtakes me on the left turn after the bridge but after that long straight I passed him. After that I had to control my shaking hands and had no problems with other cars. Very respectful race btw. I was even awarded a clean race!!

I don't even wanna play anymore today lol. :cheers::D:D

You make valid points. Why not have a (dirt) rally race from time to time. It's a part of the game, featured at finals, 3 tracks and a reasonable number of rally cars. That makes sense.

Although I think you have too much faith in online users. I didn't watch the final but it's not really comparable to your average online daily race. The in-game penalty system is also not used, real racing stewards decide penalties. On top of that, they're professional players who race clean and drive cars nigh on perfectly so not really a fair comparison.



Good suggestion, I thought I'd try the Huracan after not liking it for a long while. Instantly knocked off 3/4 of a second so down to 2:09.6 with room to improve. It's not a GT-R so I'll take it. :p

I don't see the penalties for excusing rally events. I don't use it, so it wouldn't be a problem

Because I see the mess that goes online, not to mention the lack of drivers, they are (we are) always the same, so the emergence of rally races would certainly increase the number of fans.
In the absence of races, I hope it appears in TT, and Pikes as soon, yesterday was late.

On the discussion about getting good lap times with a DS4, I think St. Croix is one of the more suitable tracks for it. Quite how a 2:06.7 is possible I've no idea, mind you.

I had the same feeling to savor the win after my first 4 wins. But on the 5th, I went right back in & was able to win #6. You get used to the winning feeling & will just want more. :D

They’re still on Saturday’s for now, I’ll probably switch them over for the start of November I think. You can definitely do it, especially in Gr2. You got dis brotha! :cheers:

But, I will actually need a few guys to help run some tests here shortly though if you or anyone else is interested. It will be using the new GTP League formats of 4x4, that’s all I can say for now though. I’ll post here when I open the lobby. We’ll need 8 guys total, so far it’s just myself and @suprajef

Half of them yep since it matches the decal I plaster over the front.

I picked the Lexus, old favorite, blue indeed. First race, got bumped a couple times and dive bombed in the final corner. -2 SR. I thought it was Friday, must still be Tuesday or maybe Saturday already.
 
Ok, the results are in from the GTP League Test Lobby Races. Thank you very much to all the guys who made it out, and put up with the slow going in the beginning, the racing turned out to be a lot of fun! I think if we all had known the format and teams before hand to pre plan our tire strategies a bit that things could run a lot smoother in the future. It went really well though considering we were all learning on the fly, well done on that guys! :cheers:

Onto the Results, the Winners are @GOTMAXPOWER @sturk0167 @Sven Jurgens @05XR8 with 44 Total Points over @NosOsH @Kevstah2004 @whiteusagi and Myself with 29 Total Points. I’ve shared both replays in game, they are tagged gtpleague, testlobby and teamraces, I also streamed the entire thing as well, so the full replay is on my YT page. Thanks again for coming out tonight guys and Congrats to the Champs! Well done! :cheers:


For anyone wondering what we did, we used the same format as the GTP League races except for a couple things. Each team of 4 was given 8 sets of tires to use as they wish, one set per player for qualifying and one set per player for the 2 races. The options were 2 sets RSS, 2 sets RS, 2 RM and 2 sets RH per team of 4. Each set could only be used once, Tires used in qualifying were not available for the races, and the tires a player used in race one also had to be used in race 2, there was no switching between races, Tire wear was also on x15 for both Qually and Races, but no fuel wear. Teams were allowed to decide amongst themselves pre Q and Pre race who on the team would use which tires and when, it made for some cool strategies, and could be even better with some pre planning by teams. It turned out to be a really fun test, and if the Pro teams on the GTP League did it this way I think it would make for some really exciting races with lots of action. :)
