If I'm not mistaken, this is the first race B with cars above GR3. Lap times will be competitive but should be really fun!

First in a long time for sure. And at least they've brought it back to 5 laps. They had cut a lap off Daily B races and by the last four races format Dragon Trail would have been down to a 4 lap race. With GR 2 cars this would have left us loads of time to practice our T1 technique Wreckfest between Daily Races.

Anyhoo, I've gotta race B in order to show these babies off.:D

I’m quick on the draw today. ;)

@05XR8 mentioned "Bidet" in a post and I had to ask why it was called that. The joke just ran to me calling the straight after it "The Drain Pipe". Well, once you start naming sectors of a track after parts of a toilet it'd be just rude not to do the whole thing.:sly:
I think it was Bidet because you had to clean your behind every time you ran it in race :)

Edit: completely unrelated but the AMG -16 with BB -5 is actually so planted that when you get pushed into a spin (full tip manoeuvre) you can straighten it up after one full circle and keep going without even loosing your spot! And the guy doing the tip was so confused he forgot to steer off track to give me a penalty.

I've settled on the RCZ for now for race B, because

A. It's not the GT-R (can't stand it from long before it was the meta)
B. It doesn't get unsettled when avoiding mess ups or stalling GT-Rs like the Huracan and Ferrari
C. It's actually quite fast through the second half.

Anyway, I'll probably switch to another car again soon. Race em all.

I feel like I'm getting the hang of this circuit :D
I've never thought much of my consistency, but there we have it!

This was my quali session after 3 races around 3am this morning. Incidentally, I clocked my PB 2.08.85 in the session after this one and managed to get my first win on this week's races.

That's the one downer with race B this week: I can't say there's a GR3 car I hate driving more than the GTR.

I found the R8 feels nice around there, especially the last sector. But it's painfully slow in speed compared to the GTR.

Superb consistency, well done.

I'm pleased with a 2:11.8xx with an optimal nearly 0.2s quicker.

Gone back to +5 BB on the Toyota TS050, it's quicker as long as you don't spin around. ;)

Q time down to 1:23.410 but lost at least a tenth in the last corner.

Also just did a 1:24.2 race lap and had decent pace the entire last half of the race.

Shame I nearly caused a crash or two in the first half of the race, not use to people actually trying to race with the 919 and so I nearly gave one a right good spank up the arse as a result but I did the right thing and turned away from the corner, only problem was I then had to grass ride back on because otherwise I'd have been reset to track, so I hope that didn't impact anyone too much.

In the end because the Porsche is no good to race, I caught all the cars that went past back up again and ended up 2nd regardless and I was never going to have a chance at 1st anyway. Better than my first race, was again going to finish a distant 2nd but the game disconnected me on lap 8.

Yeah the RCZ can't keep up with the GTR either when coming out of a turn right on the bumper of a GT-R. The GT-R simply pulls away under perfect slipstream conditions. Even a better corner exit doesn't help on the straight. You can pass them coming out of the fast esses or when they go a bit wide on the final turn.

GTR is a fast in, mess up corner (cause you really should brake earlier in it), accelerate away car. Not fun to drive and annoying to race against.

Well ***, with my new time the game is putting me in P7 at the start. So much more pressure lol, and the GT-Rs ahead are impossible to catch up to. Did 3 races this morning, lost 2 positions in the first one, 1 in the second and kept the same place in the last one.

My DR went way up somehow after this. I can't explain it. I thought it took only how many positions you gained during races as reference.

Supra (most recommended by everyone not using the GT-R) & Ferrari (recommended by me and I'm crap so don't puch much money on it) - my best is in the Ferrari at 2:10:2 but I can't race it. I am .3 secs behind that time in the GT-R which I do race. By that logic you should be 9.4 in the Ferrari.:boggled:

@RacingGrandpa we'll have to get a map done up and edit the names onto the sectors.

Just tried the Ferrari in quail and was pleasantly surprised as although it wasn't the best track for it it's actually drivable now in a consistent manor, what have they done with it?

Try racing it! Great for quali (and sounds great) but if anything happens on the track during a race that causes you to deviate from the optimum you'll find yourself racing on St Croix B Reverse Layout. Take the left after the bridge and a car stalls in front of you and see what happens when you ease off and swerve to avoid it.

@Lateralus5813 oh bugger, you've only gone and done it now! Somebody will be along shortly to try and explain the DR points allocation system.

I'm sure plenty of people will explain it better and in more detail, but for simplicity :
Finish high up = good for DR
Finish low down = bad for DR
Overtakes are irrelevant (except of course they help you finish higher up!)

p.s. Tool fan here too - great stuff!

Had a good race at sardegna to start the day, then my game froze laoding in for qualifying laps before next race. Quit game, restart system, disconnect while loading the next race.... wtf! Not wasting time trying to race if this is a thing today. Went to st. Croix for some more laps in the supra. I am slowly getting better with the race cars. Still haven't set an imroved time but have an optimal in the 2.10's now at least. I feel like my issue is heavy feet, i just can't seem to be "gental" enough with the racing cars

It's not how many places you gain, it's where you finish relative to other drivers taking into account their DR relative to yours. If the finishing positions are the same, it doesn't matter if you started in pole or last, you'll get the same DR up.

Now, I guess this is because I run in the lower classes, where the cars aren't the deciding factor, but both the AMG and the Porsche can hang with the GT-R if in slipstream. Even overtake, and the great thing is that there's always another GT-R ahead to slipstream.

Enough racing for now, too many bumper tappers around. I went from blue SR to a neutral and now -3 SR all from people tapping my bumper in the corner giving me SR Down. At least they don't hit the wall after or not soon enough after to give me a penalty as well. What's up with this fast in, early apex, slow out mentality on race B? Sure it's easy to pass on corner exit but then you get SR Down the next corner before leaving them behind.

I'm finishing 8th now on average in the RCZ, different car next time!

TCS 2 is costing you a chunk of time. A/T a bit, too.
Oh, yeah. No doubt. :indiff:

15 laps of Tsukuba in a Japanese K car with 20x tyre wear. Admit it, you love it ;)
:yuck:

GR.2 bus stop lol.
The first thing I thought, was that Gr.2 cars will have too much speed for the bus stop. :scared:

I feel like my issue is heavy feet, i just can't seem to be "gental" enough with the racing cars
As a guy who uses an on/off switch for his throttle :dopey:, I can tell you that there are a few Gr.3 cars that can take whatever I throw at it, with no TCS, and won't get loose on me. AMG, M3 and Genesis come to mind. There's more, but I don't recall. I don't think any MR cars work the same for me. 👍

Don't anyone judge me but I actually keep this to hand as it's a subject that crops up every so often.

This is the formula used to calculate how much DR you gain or lose. As already mentioned, it's all down to your finishing position in comparison to the DR of everyone else's finishing position.

For every car you finish in front of you gain:
80 - ((Player DR - Rival DR))/500)DR

For every car you finish behind, you lose:
80 + ((Player DR - Rival DR))/500)DR

I'm in the middle of working out a formula that basically boils down to this maxim: the faster you go the slower you are (relative to those around you).

Because my qualification times have improved over time I am now going faster. However as my Q times improved I also increased DR. Now that I have a higher DR I am up against better drivers. So, when I was 4 to 5% of region pole and DR C (7 to 10,000 points) I was a top 3 to 4 on the grid driver. Now that I'm a 2 to 3% of region pole DR B (20 to 25,000 point) I am a bottom 3 to 4 on the grid driver. The sweet spot will be to drop to 15,000 points, stay at 2 to 3% of region pole and find myself back in top grid places. Luckily my horrid results at St Croix is making that points correction via natural selection.:p

EDIT: And too late, we've already judged you. And he was such a nice chap!

EDIT: @RacingGrandpa I tried the Beetle yesterday. Bonkers stable! I figured it may make up for the horror show I was having I'd go for a car that's impossible to crash. Coming out of Bidet I was literally kissing the bumper of a GT-R. Draft or no draft the thing still pulled away from me and made up .5 secs down The Drain Pipe.
