Nice seeing you on track mate, and yeah the usual bonkers going on in the first few moments of the race, glad you didn't suffer any more than you did. And sure, it's a case of elbows out, and bellies in with some people that "race"..... :dopey:

After seeing you at the end of the first lap just before your penalty I knew being slightly behind wasn't a bad thing, possibly better and much safer than being slightly ahead!

My holy VGT

20191109160129.jpg

+ topspeed at Spa of around 265 km/h / with slipstream 275 km/h
+ Pretty late on the brakes
+ Good acceleration throughout
+ Can easily do a one stopper
+ Stay in medium revs to save fuel and keep power
+ Good on the tires

- doesn't like low revs (swallows in patrol)
- doesn't like short shifting
- Needs to be in mid to high revs to evade understeer
- Slow out of 1th gear
- Steady foot needed
- Doesn't like wild steering movements
- No cockpit :odd:

I tried the Ferarri again, now leading in the top spot before the Cirtoen and Huracan for lap times. However I was in 9th, then a Brazilian stuck a nose in and send me spinning out into the field in the middle section. In the last lap with ruined tires another car bumps me from behind a couple times and sends me into another tailspin. Finished 16th, worse than with the slow cars :/ Ferrari and Huracan simply aren't any good in dirty traffic.

You need to have clean races in the 458 and Huracan. Any sliding or excess tyre wear and laps 7+8 are going to be twitchy.

Yep, no problem when I don't get punted or pit manoevered. However, that's not always in my control :/ Hence no good from the back.

Atenza and Lancer, stable but slow. Atenza about 0.8 sec faster per lap than lancer with more fuel.

Welp, nearly had A rank again with a double win sealing it, but had a GT-R one-stopper who couldn’t dare have a 911 finish ahead.

Race 2:

Ended up finishing 2nd with the Vette taking 1st after the GT-R’s penalty was applied.

So, this race, I had just sat down, and entered up on alt. Barely got in. Lol, that race was where I introduced our S American yellow vette participant to my associate Dr. Wall lap six, and shortly thereafter I finished him off by sideswiping him off where he then met my German friend Breckencheck.
That guy is garbage.
Funny thing is I’ve had the replay, and I never watched from your perspective! I only saw him punt bamboo lap six!
I shared the replay with @Pigems, he has my full authorization to post clips from it. It’s the one that says fwd to...
Every once in a while in evening at B S on this server the game likes to put all the dirty ones in together with clean for some reason.

I just thought you might wanna know that my claim about watching out for people’s backs turned out to be more true than you know! Watching Jean Girard use his expert dirt skills to take out the second place driver who was no doubt close to and gunning for you after the earlier fighting might be therapeutic in some way.

I fully authorize anyone to post clips from that race. I only just realized it now how that worked out. I took that guy down five spots I think before having to serve my 20 seconds of pen, ended up from 99 to low A in the blink of an eye, glad to know someone from here benefited and it was all worth it.

After the race bamboo tagged me with ‘that was some clean drivin’ because I was sticking up for him!

Cheers

I guess i wasn't the only one waiting to see what next weeks races will be lol

I have a problem now... i have really started to like spa, and have gotten a good feel for the previously undriveable for me, R8. Getting better almost every lap till i got my best of now 20.185 with a terrible run through the last chicane. I feel confident i can hit a mid 19 but i keep making mistakes now that i am "pushing" it. Just one more lap, just one more lap, just one more lap.... i got real life stuff to do damnit, stop messing up lol

Anyways, no more time for the spa right now. Out into the miserable weather to change those wheels.....

My week at spa has been a blast. I started the week like 27k Dr and S safety rating. I dropped down to 23k while I learned the track and experimented with the cars. I made progress over the week going from needing to fuel for about 1 lap of fuel to .5 laps and finally this morning I got the no stop down. I've worked my way up to 32k Dr for the 2nd time in my gt career. It's been a fun week full of mostly clean drivers. It's also been fun seeing quite a few of you on track. I've enjoyed watching @Sven Jurgens make his way thru the field. A few times I've fallen and he's charged thru and we meet in the middle for a few laps.
Advice for a few that have mentioned they just started this week. Someone else mentioned, race the track.. Let others go by and learn to save fuel and short shift. As you progress you will find letting that guy go by saves you fuel since you can tuck into his stream and many times you can pass while he pits. 75% or so of the population is running a 1 stop race and the no stop is the fastest. Slow down, conserve fuel, and tires and figure out how to do 2:21s-2:23 while using 12% of your fuel each lap and you will be successful.

2 C races so far! 3rd and 6th. Second race I was sitting comfortably in 4th and made the first major mistake since started racing at Spa. On the high speed double left I caught the kerb and the car lost balance and there I went into a spin! Back to SR S from the depths of SR B (not too bad actually).

For those cataloguing different strategies, mine is FM 1, redlining every shift, one pit stop for tires and fuel and out again. That strategy has brought me front of the pack and 3 wins.

Id be willing to bet Race A will be the GT86/BRZ.

I think you're probably going to be right. PD have used the BRZ/86 combo at least 5 times already including at Fuji.

A: Won't race unless it's an N200 never used before but even that's a stretch since it's Fuji. :yuck:

B: I like reverse Maggiore more than regular so I'll likely only race here plus it's Gr.3. This would be the 34th Maggiore race.

C: Like Gr.2 but bored of Autopolis... Last time I raced this combo, it felt like a chore. There's so many other tracks where Gr.2 hasn't been used. It's kind of sad. Why not Le Mans, St. Croix, Kyoto or Mount Panorama instead?

Looks like a recycled and unimaginative week to me. Probably not much racing and playing other games instead.

Next week!

Race A: N200 @ Fuji Short, 4 laps, SH

Race B: Gr.3 @ Maggiore GP II, 4 laps, RH

Race C: Gr.2 @ Autopolis, 12 laps, RM/RH, Fuel x3, Tires x13

:(:guilty::indiff::sick::irked::mad::yuck::grumpy:👎

Fuji Short, absolutely not.

Maggiore, yawn.

Turnopolis in GR.2 double yawn.

Looks like I'll have time for Death stranding next week. Racing on Spa until the races change tomorrow night!

The GT-R came up in my list, no good for this track, currently sitting in the top 3 for the bottom of my list. However matchmaking just changed to put me in a lower and cleaner split room, so my best lap of 2:24.3 got me 4th place instead of finishing 12th or lower with 2:22 laps

This must be the dirtiest place on the track at Spa.

And it works, I get SR Down and no hope on the kerbs.

Got to admit for first time I'm peeved off at the repetition of race C next week.

I'm not too bothered that its group 2 at Autopolis for 3rd time in 6 months, I actually like group 2 cars at the track but I am bothered that it's the exact same tyre selection, lap count, fuel multiplier, tyrewear multiplayer as last time in September which was the exact same settings as in march.

Simply by changing the settings you can use the same car/track but give the race a completely different character

13 laps, racing soft/meds, fuel x5, tyres x5 and boom totally different race. Or better still 20 laps Autopolis short course!!

Always always always keep hugging that curb to your right in that corner.

I’ll be starting to host some races over the next few weeks that you may be interested in. They will be around 50 minutes each on Thursday night and Sunday around supper time, I’ll send you a pm with more info once I have it, but they sound like they’ll be right up your ally if you are free during those times. :)

I only raced the reverse variant months back during a Fia évent. Can use some practice on that track. Maybe I'll make it a cockpitview only week in the Citroën. Feels like I am in a plane when you're in the drivingseat. Visability is a concern :scared::lol:

I just decided I should upload this race C, because it is my best race pace this week. Using Huracan, with average lap of 19:100.XX. It is a hard combo, I admit - Spa is a hard track and the fastest cars this week are also the hardest to drive. But still, very enjoyable when you start to be consistent.

So next weeks races are a bit poo to be honest after the exhilaration of racing at Spa, looks like it will be Maggiore as Autopolis is as boring as unbuttered toast and Fuji ain’t much better either...they should add a 4th daily just at Spa alone 💡
