@sturk0167 I made you a little something tonight, it’s nothing fancy, it’s actually not even the correct car, but it’s as close as I could get in GT. :cheers:

It just didn’t look right on the Camaro, the roofline wasn’t right. :)
 
For Jesus sake! It took me few hours to bring my qualy to just below 2 mins, (1:59.98) on Race B... thinking ok, that will get me somewhere in the middle of the pack... boy was I wrong! First race starting dead last (16th) in a very tough lobby. Finished 14th and lost DR 700 points :banghead:

I tried a race B. Started last, timed out before the finish :lol: I hate that track, blind apexes for the first half, weird roller coaster corner, wide road with only one narrow line through it. I sort of knew it once, have been avoiding it so long I have no clue what I'm doing. 2:05 best lap, lap 4 would have been better but didn't get to see the result. I see I actually had 2 victories on that track out of 36 races. No more. It's ugly to look at too!

So I've been driving in the rain on Spa instead :)

EMEA has at least 3 times as many players as Americas. I'd expect three times as many to make the time bracket between me and the fastest alien on an EMEA account compared to an Americas account.

Question, what should the tire pressure be of my car? The low pressure light came on with the cold weather and yep, the tries were down to just over 25 psi. Google suggests 35 to 40 psi for my vehicle while the manufacturer says a minimum of 30 psi.

The odd thing is, google claims 35 psi has better fuel economy while 40 psi provides a smoother ride. Isn't that backwards? On my bicycle, higher pressure is faster but obviously bumpier and less traction in corners. I use 80 psi for my rear tire, 70 psi front.

Anyway I pumped them up to 32 psi, should be good I guess, or my wife might be in a ditch now besides the road :lol:

Usually there's a range of pressure that will work for you car. Manufacturer's recommendation is generally a compromise between comfort, fuel economy and road noise. I generally run 2 - 3 lbs above recommended, slightly better fuel economy and grip (under normal street driving conditions) but harsher ride (side benefit, more feel through the steering and seat of pants). If you over do the extra pressure you'll get a drift car and tread will wear more in the centre. Too low and it'll understeer, tend to lock up under brakes and wear the tread shoulders quicker.

It's a miracle, there's a track where I lap quicker than @Sven Jurgens :D :cheers:

Ran a race B qualifyinng at P9, 2:04.xxx. My part of the grid full of drivers trying too hard but fortunately the field spread out pretty quick and I had a nice easy run until last lap, 3rd place over drove himself and got badly enough to let me past in P10, then he overestimates my braking skill coming down into the big hairpin and punts me right across the sand into the wall. Four seconds for him, two places down for me. Blue S, -600 DR, mostly enjoyed the race. Will go back later for more :). Race laps more or less equal to Q lap. Driving the Supra, twitchy, nervous beast. There's at least another 1.5s I can cut from Q time if I can come to terms with its handling and get more consistent on the turn ins for the blind apexes.

Race B is a trash fire this week. Started 14th with a door number of 16 and finished 11th. +25dr

Just gonna do the FIA races this week and hope next week’s daily rotation won’t be a punishment.
 
I might actually enter up in a c race or 2 if I read right and tire wear is more than last time. My q should be decent enough for it on the main.
I haaaated that track when it came out, but I actually think gr2 is a good match for it, and it was quite good to me last time...
(famous last words before going in country to die)
 
Race A, P7 > P5, CRB, ~300 DR gain. Bit of dive bombing going on by two of the top five places in the last two laps but otherwise a mostly clean room. Even the SR-E driver managed to have his accidents without messing up other drivers' races. Q time just under the 2:04 mark, best lap mid 2:03 but with a big draft to help.

@The_Tullster I used to say the same thing about thread wear, but modern tires won't deform like that. The thread wear will be a little higher with lower pressure, but it will be uniform.
Low pressure is good for off-road. I run 4 bars in my tires for good fuel economy. The shock absorbers was changed when needed and we upgraded at the same time. That way the ride is as good but still get better feel.

It's often easy to detect those who habitually neglect tyre pressure by the bald shoulders. It's scary how many people are driving around with tyre pressures at least 10lbs below manufacturers recommendations. It's even scarier that they don't notice it, I can spot my tyres being as little as two pounds low just by how the car turns.

Yes, I often wonder how much fuel is wasted combined worldwide because of low pressure. And how many people that are injured or killed because of it. I have seen a car's tire deform to the point of the rim hooking into the asphalt because of low pressure and harsh turning.
 
Good lord they are having trouble matchmaking race c in asia tonight. Had a room with A+/S mixed through to B/B and D/A. Tried 1 race, got punted first turn to last. People don't know how or when to fight. 12 lap tire wear race and they are swerving to defend to the death middle of lap 1. Out of 16 starters 10 finished. Did move up a couple of spots but man was it ugly. Second fastest lap all race was lap 5 as it was my first in clean air. Only had 1 of those all race.

Just landed in lobby for second race, very high powered. About to be left behind!
 
Well, I raced. It wasn’t Spa. It was Turnopolis. There were a couple minor contacts but no pens. I began in fourth, lap 1 t1 3rd, who didn’t have a run on second pulls out of line inside, then kinda realizes there was nowhere to go and had to park it sort of. I had kinda thought he might carry through with his plan and take out himself and second t1 in a longer race but no. I had to brake and tapped him a bit wide and went through. He saved it but I couldn’t figure it out, just a mistake. Sorry man, but the whole field was right behind me...
Strategy was nonexistent on my part. I made an ingenious move by pitting on lap five and merging out into some traffic...
Brilliant! They were pretty good for the most part except lap six when a fella ran me onto the grass. Just don’t think he knew I was next to him. Anyhoo I was able to get away and ran a solo last few laps into the last podium slot.
Pretty happy actually considering the fact earlier today I pictured myself entering as being blindfolded with a half finished Camel Light dangling from my lips praying it won’t hurt...

Heh every time I got new tyres on the zook, they over inflated them. The drive home was like having power steering :rolleyes:. It's amazong how much the fuel economy can suffer even from one flattish tyre. Had a slow leak on one of the rear tyres when I set off coming home from Melbourne... ran out of fuel before the first fuel stop :crazy:.

In my experience they always over inflate them, but it's particularly bad on the zooks with a factory pressure of only 20 lbs. I initially ran mine at 23 but even that was enough to get slightly accelerated wear on the middle of the tread.

Edit: Another Race A, P8 > P9. Ragged bunch of drivers at the back of the field mixed up with an over zealous DR-S SR-S who got a punt from P7 back to P9 at the first corner. Not quite truly dirty but not very respectful of the lack of skill of the other drivers when overtaking to fight his way back, including a marginal dive bomb on me at the final turn of lap 2. I don't think he made a single fully clean overtake all race. He finished with a red S. I finished blue but approx 200 down on DR.

Day 2 of racing at Lago Maggiore.

Tested two more cars:

Hyundai Genesis GT3: As always, a great allrounder. Very uncomplicated driving, excellent handling. It deserves more love than it actually gets. Like it!
BMW Z4 GT3: One of my favourite GT3, it has that Privateer feeling. Unfortunately it´s behaviour on the track is understeering on the throttle. Manageable at Spa, at Maggiore this is really something you don´t want. Love it, but don´t like it.

My results were getting better. Qualifying time is now 1.59.3xx and I have finally restored my rating back to B / S. What a difference. Finally I don´t have to fear to be stabbed in the back at every corner.

Had some great racing yesterday, starting between 2nd and 8th, depending on the lobby.

One race ended with 2nd, a French Guy in a RS.01 did a great job blocking his line, but fair and fun!

Next race once again my McLaren had not the same opinion in terms of direction. So I was forced to stop after the fast downhill esses. Come back at 10th, had some luck with mistakes of other racers and was in the last corner / last lap back at 6. Frenchman in a AMG GT3 crushed into my right and overtake me. After that I was witness of some great sportsmanship as he braked to let me pass. Crossed the line at 6th position - respect to France!

A few races were not so eventful, but no accidents and gaining 2-3 positions in the race.

Last race at night I was thrown into a strong lobby with A / S drivers. Grid position 3rd, the A / S in front. If you lack skills as I do, it is really amazing how the better drivers are using every 🤬 inch of the track, especially in the 2nd esses you really see the difference! Anyway, did my best to keep close to them and I gained 2nd as one of the A / S decided to quit for whatever reason. The leader was about 3 seconds away and I already smelled the turbo of the Beetle behind me. Just as I settled on 2nd place and prepared to defend it against that VW, the leader overshot in his Ferrari the hairpin after the downhill esses and immediately quit the race. 2 laps left I was able to keep up the pace and drove the M6 GT3 with 0.7 secs as a winner across the line. Was a very lucky one, so nothing to be too proud, but I have to confess it was a good feeling.

Somehow the Race C does not give me any desire to do that. Sounds painful.

Race A seems to be to risky. It took so many hours to come back from my Grade C "I BUMP YOU EVERYWHERE ANYTIME WUAHHH DIVEBOMB!!!!" SR Rating, that I have the feeling to avoid 15 other guys after a long straight in equal cars at T1 in Fuji.

12 off a standing start shouldn't be too horrible if you can get through T1 without incident.

I've had three starts there this week and it hasn't been too bad in the DR- B/C groups in Asia / Oceania servers.

If it's same time as Daily Races w/ Friends I can probably drop by. Don't save me a spot if the room will be full without me. Be prepared for three yellow bars connection and slow driving, but I'll try to get some laps in the R18 tonight or tomorrow so I'm not too bad.

Just ran a 911 RSR in race B. So much better than the Toyota :D. Dropped nearly a sedond off Q time, down 2:02.9xx to get a P5 grid slot. Finished P2 with CRB, +900 DR :D. Porsche front is a tad slippy if you put on power too early and it doesn't like sudden throttle off at turn in, but otherwise has quite good manners for a mid engine car.

Kewl. Did something similar with the Corvette. Cut a second off my Supra time, and that was tiptoeing my way through some spots on partial throttle cause I was understeering at full throttle :crazy:.

The 911 can take that downhill left/right at the end of the back straight pretty much no lift, in the hands of a more skillful driver I'd say it's easily flat out. The hardest part of the track to be consistent is the last four corners.

BTW, hope you're not suffering too much from those fires. It's pretty intense up your way if I've got it right where you live.
