Speaking of Champ cars, check out Alex Zanardi's dive bomb pass at the Laguna Seca corkscrew on the final lap, to get the win. I can't believe he even attempted it. He would've had a track limit penalty in Sport Mode (I would assume).

That's another emergency patch and 35 minute wait for copying to finish

The crowds loving this stuff is why we can't have clean races!

No penalty...

Did the guy behind you (that tapped you before the punt) get the penalty

Had 2 good runs at race A tonight. First one started 7th. I was run out of the track twice and had to make my way up from last every time.I finished 6th with a clean race bonus and fastest lap (SR S low, DR B).
2nd time started 8th and finished 2nd, even though some Italian dude in 2nd was acting like a murderer to anyone faster than him. He eventually lost it.good for him

Race A in the VW. My preferred FF car. I like the track, once I get into the swing.

Last time here I did a 1:53.194, which I was pleased with.

Started in the mid 54s. Chipped away, whilst playing around with wheel settings...... into the 53s. Watched a couple of top 10 vids. Learnt some stuff. Kept chipping away...... Finally - 1:53.204.

I did race A last night. I smell dark sorcery in play . You sir clearly sold your soul to the devil and should be burnt at the stake :mischievous:! How anyone can make that thing go in anything but a strait line is beyond me .

A few more laps in the 86 and down in the 8'22's now .. those 8'16's are insane!! I'll be happy to drop below 8'20 tbh :boggled:👍 Here's an onboard of my best so far.. still enjoying it even if I'm light years away from the front runners :P

Keep on pushing

👍

I did a race A this morning. Set a q time in the low 154s, started on pole and t1 comes I get on the brakes at the same time as all of my q laps only to almost have the car go in the sand. I've read of a few people saying they felt the car handles different when in qualy and this is the first time I can say I agree. The next 2 laps felt weird at t1. I can't really put my finger on what's different but it sure feels like the car acts different from qualy to the race.

Just had a run with the TT Cup around Autopolis. Best lap so far is a 53.1, optimal of 52.9, I think I can get the 2.9, but it’s gonna take a few more laps. I don’t seem to hate this combo as much this time for some reason?

BB+4 :)

You brake so late coming up the hill into the hairpin. I need to go back now and see if I cab push my braking point a bit later. I'd like to get into the 53s.

The trick there is heavy trail braking and the fact that it’s an uphill braking zone. Be easy on the throttle when exiting to minimize wheel spin as well. Good Luck, you can do it man!

Is the BOP for the FF GR.4 cars okay or is there a clear winner and/or loser?

I prefer the TT Cup, but the Scirocco is also a good car. :)

What's with this system? I only had to 1 do intentional punt at Lemans last week, but it got me 5 seconds.
Still have no idea how it works.

The system gets 'confused' when there are multiple contacts in a row. The contact from the other car (which did pop up an SR Down) likely gave him a 'grace period', temporary invulnerability!

I did one intentional punt today and the other car got the penalty lol. (I went off with him) He deserved it. The penalty system exists outside of normal time and space, cause and effect are merely illusions.

Gotcha.
So it sounds like the Monza trick, where someone creates contact before the second chicane, then drives right through the middle of it, without a time penalty.
It sounds like the same principle, at least.

I went from 16th to 7th, but after the first few minutes, everyone get pretty spread out, and you end up with more alone time than racing. Seems like a poor car choice.
Hopefully this will get better later in the week when some more drivers have learned the car/track combo. Always iffy at the Nurb though 'cause it takes so long to run a few practice laps and learn the combo.

Got the AMG down to 32.4 at Interlagos, BB0, such a tough track this is. Scored 32.6’s in the Mustang and Vette as well. :)

Edit: First lap at the Nurb was a 36.8, having a few more goes at it than I think I’ll do a few races. :)

8:31.2 now, I think I can maybe get into the 20’s, but that’s probably about it. :)

Edit: 8:29.0 now, I still messed up the last corner a bit and slightly messed up the uphill right hander that leads to the really long uphill straight away, but it’ll have to do for now. I don’t have it in me to any more more laps of the Nord tonight. Video is uploading now, BB-3. :)

I will prolly try a ring run or two on the alt and play bumper cars from the back. Doubt I will race much this week really.
@Pigems, I ran qual at Lagos there in Stang and Merc goofing around with ffb. Saw you a tenth up on me!
I end up about the same in either car. Lines need a bit of work...it’s a tough one to get into the flow of. You might have awesome pace one night, and the next be 1.5 slower, or at least that’s how it is for me...Fun though frustrating sometimes.
Personally I am loving the cars behavior right now a lot. Maybe it’s just a tweak they did on ffb I dunno, but I like it more each time they do something it seems.

After ~100 laps of qualifying I managed a 32.3 around Interlagos. Still .4s off my best time from back in September, but it’s all I had in me tonight. Was good enough for a p9 start in a super sweaty A&S DR lobby. Worked my way to 6th and after holding it for 3 laps I stopped defending and let the Porsche behind me past on the last lap as I wanted to avoid the possibility of getting spun out. P7 is more than enough for me against that field.

Used the RC F '17. Started 4th behind a GT-R. An R8 started behind the pole F1.

Neither of us could put a dent in the speed of those two. They both held us up in the bowl from T1 to the final turn.

I could see the R8 getting side by side with the F1 just about everywhere. It was being very courteous and so was I. One slip up and I lose the GT-R on the straight.

By Lap 3, I could see where a pass was on. GT-R wasn't blocking as it didn't have to. The two straights give it the gap it needs.

Last lap, I take the inside two corners from the last corner. GT-R sees this and gives room. I get the last corner and just enough of good drive in exit. I'm still ahead as the GT- R is on my right rear quarter. Pit entrance and I'm two wheels on the green turf, hugging that inside for a shorter line. GT-R gets me with .043.
The R8 falls .2 behind the F1.

Next is the Nurb. Started 10th. Finished 8th. No qualy. Stuck behind a Wakos livery. Tapping brakes.
We did make a gap, but now, it's dwindled down by the time we reach the bottom. I have to get by before the karrussel, or I'm a sitting duck with a train of cars on the final straight.

Heading uphill, Wakos is on the inside, I stay outside. Cars behind are trying to pick who to follow. Left hand kink coming up, I know Wakos is going to brake. Yup, it brakes. I left off the gas and slip in by.

Was alone for most the race(9 seconds in front and behind me) until a 360. Two second gap kept me from "DRS".

Couldn't get rhythm at my favourite Autopolis. Sitting this one out.
