Boom or bust at Blue Moon, 3 race wins in one night or 1/2 a lap behind after all the shenanigans, mainly 1/2 lap behind tho :lol:
Not shedding DR as I expected so Nations not looking good, hoping the pissed up Brits and our Spanish friends hit the field of play soon :gtpflag:

BMB to increase your DR is like visiting a bath house or a nude beach ... could be very good or VERY, VERY BAD.

So far, I've been lucky I suppose. 47 races | 19 poles | 20 top5s | 5 wins.
DR went from 6k to nearly 18k (close to same level before last weekend's masochistic FIA beatdown).

Nice thing about Race B this week is finding some solid drivers (pretty easy since people are either smooth or running around the track blindfolded) and getting a good rivalry going on.

I still think he pretty much turned in on me expecting me to fully stop on track and let him by. Definitely a crap move on both of us, but I am grown enough to admit it looks like I pretty much just blasted him broadside. Another reason to remember to check the replay and not rely solely on memory. Bad on all counts is my verdict, any others?

Through my eyes, you didn't do anything malicious. Someone mentioned a server blip & we can see it in the video. Based on the laws of physics, the "lead" that he would have gotten on the first half of the chicane would have been taken back in the second half by you. He just cut you off from our view in your video. In the same situation, I wouldn't have backed off the apex.
 
After a break from racing, I've done 14 race this week for a gain of 152 DR and a loss of 9 SR. Race B is an absolute lottery. Race C has seen me struggle for consistency with the high downforce car and weird penalties. I've also indulged in some dark art revenge punts. I can take it or leave it at the moment. It's not great. Normally I'd be on Spa non-stop all week.

This is getting ridiculous, 4th win of the night & I'm the pissed up Brit now :lol:
A lot of the other racers seem to be getting used to bump drafting now, had a good bit of teamwork with a few other players, especially when a dirty one is around the group 👍

Teamwork is key. Can be pretty easy to take P1-P3 and separate away from P4 early in the race until the finish. As long as you find a 0.7s or so advantage after L1, you should be alright (especially with proper weaving to disrupt slipstream for people behind you).

I needed that beer, enjoy this first lap of total fail from the drivers, including me, and a game that does not make it easier for anyone.



When I watched the replay it occurred to me that one of the reasons things often go so bad is that it really lacks any kind of contact physics between cars.

We are never supposed to touch each other but the game isn't built around that fact.
 
Lol I'm absolutely positive I could program a more competent penalty system in my college freshman-year programming class (that I failed). This is beyond a joke. It was honestly better when it was just handing everyone 50s penalties for looking in each other's directions. At least people were a little more careful. So far I'd managed to avoid getting stupid penalties, but my love of outside passes at BMB is making me hate this game. I got a 5s penalty for being on the outside of someone at final turn. There was light contact, and no penalty, but a full SEVERAL SECONDS later, he somehow lost control and speared into the outside wall, at which point the game gave me a penalty. Fortunately I was still able to get 3rd, and almost 2nd, because previous dumb:censored: penalties dropped my SR down so far that I'm stuck in noob-land and made easy work of the people that passed me while I served my penalty.

I don't know if it's a leadership problem at PD or what, but this game has definitely lost the right to call itself "The Real Driving Simulator".
 
I just had a thought. What are the odds that PD is letting things play out to see what people are trying to get away with in order to make penalties in the PS5 version of GT more correct?

I really wish it was something like this but I just don't have the faith in them to do this. The changes they have made to the system in the year or so I have been playing don't seem to suggest they are beta testing to cover all the gaps.

And with next weeks races not sure what I will do. Have 2 days off in the middle of the week to play extra, but I am rubbish in most N class races. I cant find speed at maggiore to save my life and going to be a big question mark over the Gr.X for race A. Puzzles to be puzzled.

I tried to pit on Lap 6 as I had a decent gap and thought maybe better tyres would help.

it glitched at the pit entry and I appeared back on the straight, past the start/finish line & suddenly a LAP DOWN!

as I was a lap behind, I tried next lap & it did the same thing!

So finished the race 2 laps down...

yes we can pit . I have yesterday after a bad start where te same guy given me 6 sec penalty twice in the same lap by diving from half second behind . I slowed down and pit to start gaining back SR point

Two little tings need to be fix ASAP in this game and hopefully before next FIA season start . #1 PENALTY SYSTEM #2 SLIPSTREAM , Slipstream is way to strong .

Umm, the filthiest drivers seem to be around at the ugly hours of the morning. Tried a few race A on the Americas alt and man, if you get in the way of their hot lapping they get pissed! Been punted 3 for 3 races now. Usual turn 1 business first 2 races, last race I got inside the leader on that turn and he turned in then pushed me off track. Got grumpy at his 1 sec penalty so punted me at the hairpin before serving penalty. Seriously I should expect this when I see A, B or even D SR ratings, especially with time of day and the current penalty system, but funny to see how they think me sticking to my line is dirty because it blocks theirs. I know I struggled when I started GTS but I at least knew it was my job to find a way past cleanly, not just punt for gold. Actually having fun with it, but with the combo I am just failing at serving revenge up properly.

Will check this one out later. I had the most bizarre bug at Spa earlier tonight. The lights took around 3 minutes to change so we all just sat on the grid. Never seen a delay bug like this before. Have it saved so might share it with the thread tomorrow!

Strange! I've had a bug where the lights never go green but you can still drive around (until everyone gets booted out), but not a delay where the race actually starts in the end.
 
I did about 6 races on BMB this morning.

The 'good' news, I won the first one with a 1.8 sec lead... Got lucky while the rest kept fighting.

The rest were all ruined either by BS penalties or getting rammed into the wall (caught quite a bit of air twice). I quit one after getting rammed so hard I got 10 sec in wall penalties, spun around dead stop in last. In another one of those races I tried to help 2nd place catch up with one of the most dirty drivers in first by ghost drafting (2 laps down lol). The dive bomb rammer won anyway (2nd had a 1 sec bs penalty, no use) with a blue S, Brazilian...

My racing with qualifying on BMB cost me 2100 DR, down to 36.5K. All races were in A/S. So back to Spa (without qualifying) to gain DR again :lol:

This game has become such a mess :ouch: At least at Spa the races are still good after lap 2.

I always prefer race C over A and B. They are just too short and players are too desperate to win them. Blame the victories trophy or blame the race lengths. I view both as the culprits of this.

With race C, if you get punted off at least you have a chance to come back. 6 minute races don't even get off the ground for me.

I had that problem yesterday, 5 minutes sat there like a royal plonker! Subbed your channel @TJC_69 very humourous videos you put up, I'm still laughing at the Suzuka one, with the guy that tried to take you out, and missed! :D

I had another earlyish Race C again, and a great win!

With the win, I finally broke through the 40.000 DR barrier, chuffed with that! ;)

Feeling confident, I decided to go for another race, and oh dear, the loons turned up to spoil everyone's fun, including myself, getting a 5 sec penalty for someone barging past at the start of lap 2! Thankfully it didn't hurt my DR, and I got 8th place by the end.



Great, fun races when you meet up with like minded, clean racers.....But sadly there are always a few morons around, god knows how they keep their DR/SR to A/A+ with the way they drive.

And yes my mistake, with all the chaos going on, I forgot to turn off TC after the start, I promise your honour that I never race with TC on, as all it does is slow you down! :D

Good fun all the same! :)

Thanks man :lol: I think you subbed a while ago if I remember correctly. 5 minutes is super long. I thought 3 was bad :lol: Congrats on your 40K. I'll get up to there after i've finished my last to first challenges and wins and poles for platinum. Then i'll see where my DR settles. My racecraft, tactics and consistency are better than my qualifying. Which is probably better than being a great time trialler and a bad racer I think lol. Will take a peak of video too! Omg, what happened turn one? :lol: Hitting that sub button on your YT too buddy.
 
Spa was good this morning except for losing 3-4 spots every race turn 1, fun though!
My little a bar is slowly filling towards full.
Spa is fun in the open wheelers, and the field as a whole is much faster than early in the week...
Tough though losing 6-8 seconds every turn one...
It’s very hard also to trust more speed holding the turns but it does if you steer smooth.

Thanks mate, and yup subbed you this morning, not before!! Cheers for subbing me also! ;)

It's hard improving race craft with how the Dailies have gone sadly mate.....For me, PD made a big mistake when they effectively turned off the penalty system in January for the bug that appeared, and is still there, as very quickly it bred bad, dirty driving, and also with how it works now, with more often or not, the innocent party gets the penalty, as the wallies know how to exploit it to their advantage...

All the same, gotta keep peddling! :lol: :cheers:
