I just took a couple of bashes around Race C in the supra. Managed to get my quali time into the mid 2.16’s so for my level was starting at the front of the grid.

Won one race and was 3rd in the other. Should have probably won both but I really enjoyed the track and car combo. Some nice clean racing too for a change.

End of the week's racing for me. Stuck to Kyoto with a foray into manufacturers. Didn't end as badly as I expected, DR still comfortably B.
Had some excellent, fast, well matched tactical races. & of course some absolute showers of 🤬 ones too.
I lost count of the amount of times I saw a car whizz past me at the 1st track transition and hit the wall/wipe someone out, I developed a 6th sense for it
I also ended up getting more assertive, as in, "If you're going to try and put your car there it will end up badly for you" & generally, it did, ha.
As for GTR operators, less said the better :mischievous:

It's crazy how many races you can win at the end of the week, when you're really drunk, just because you got it down to muscle memory. 👍

I swear by putting "muscle memory drunk gifs" into Google, all I got was gifs orientated in this direction......Typical that it's a Corona that's shes putting away!! :dopey:

Hi, apart from getting into a better lobby to potentially score better points on FIA races, is there any other reason not to race to keep your DR at A?

If you enjoy the racing why not just play, to me it defeats the purpose, I play regardless if I have a winning or losing streak as it's fun. Am I missing something?

For me personally it's about fulfilling my potential. I'm even more of a casual gamer now and it takes me some time to get to where I left off if I've had a long break. I keep my main account at the the level where I can step back in when I'm ready.

When on a lower level account I try and treat the drivers with more respect because really this shouldn't even be a thing where we can create an alt profile. Sometimes I'll give away a win or 2 and I usually don't drive as fast, I like a nice relaxing race sometimes haha.

Nowadays for me the fact that you can have an instant full lobby race in Sport mode without having to search in Lobby mode is too tempting so at least 1 of my alt accounts is here to stay as long as it's allowed.

There are tracks that pitting actually costs you a lot of time though. Laguna Seca springs to mind, so does Sarthe...
I wish they brought more of the F1 tracks, like Hungaro ring, Silverstone. Both of those take a long time to pit.

But the thing that pisses me off in race C is that when some people come out of the pit they are not mindful of the traffic and position their car on the outside of the track right away, and that typically results in unneccessary crashes, as the ghosting effect is not optimized for that. So please, when you come out, just stay on the inside and allow oncoming traffic to alter their line through turn one. ok thanks bye.
Almost every race that **** was happening to me. Kyoto Driving Park in particular needs a longer pit-exit line, and they need to actually be enforced.

It always plays out the same way; they un-ghost on the racing line right before the braking zone, right in front of me while I'm still going full speed. I have to dive up the inside at the last moment to avoid plowing them into the gravel, my line is ****ed so I'm slow going through the turn, then they get all impatient and start bumping me from behind because they're on fresh tyres and I'm going slow.

I know when not to fight a faster car, so if someone comes out on fresh tyres and takes the inside line, I'm going to let them go, unless they're objectively slower than me. But if they're going to be an idiot and cut across like that and interfere with my race, they can lose time behind me for all I care, because the only alternative would have ended with at least one of us off the track.

I've been running hards for 5 laps, and then mediums for 3 - seems to work OK, went from 11th to 6th, and then 11th to 3rd today. So funny seeing cars coming up behind me flashing their lights, and then starting to drop back as their tyres go off!

Even two-stoppers seem to struggle a bit on the last lap (especially the Beetle, for some reason).
I like your strategy. I used the Beetle today, employing 4/4. The last lap of 4 on the mediums the tyres were going off a bit, and looking at the lap times leads me to believe that the 5/3 is the way to go for me.

Mind, if ****-all time is lost with tyre changes, then a 2-stopper is appealing.

I did it once last night. Didn’t punt him off, but I gave him just enough to go off line and lose his momentum so he wouldn’t dive bomb next corner. Naturally he called me dirty despite it being payback for pushing me off track.

Isn't it funny how that goes? The bargiest, bangiest, dirtiest drivers are the one that get the most upset when someone makes contact with them.

Morning everybody! Anyone tested what car will be used in C this week? Any guesses? I hope for SF, but Im sure PD wont be that kind;) RBJr also would be nice, T1500? Imagine this beast on the corkscrew:)

While we all grumbled a bit with heavily recycled races for a while I have got to say it is looking better recently with some definite new combos and mixes. Now if we can keep plenty of people playing and pushing for more of these I hope PD will keep supplying good combos.

Still waiting for Tundras at the Nordschliefe.

You have to use hards so not sure a 'legal' no stop would work. Maybe a no stop medium though, and just accept the 20 second penalty(saw people getting this in my race so maybe the 60 thing is only fia?) . Personally I went start on meds, run about 11 laps and then go on hards.

Yeah pit stop is around 11 seconds.

Corkscrew is fine, it is just those sausage kerbs you have to avoid, especially the one at the bottom of the run up to the corkscrew. Dirty air is a bit of a pain as well, and make sure to map the boost button on your controller :)

Hello, All. Longtime lurker.

Had good races over this weekend.
Moved up from 4th to 2nd in my FIA Manufacturer Race and claimed first place, after the lead car spun with two laps remaining.

Maggiore Circuit was fun. Raced from 12th to 4th. I've seen many players in this thread, not qualify. It worked for me in this last race. I have since qualified for next time I race.

Laguna Seca might be fun.

Cheers!

Sometimes you just have to raise the black flag and start slitting throats. Figuratively of course.

Nah matey, that'd be a red flag. Black flag means ya might be willin' to parlay. Red flag means no quarter given. Arrrr!

Daily Race A's car choices are the Corolla Levin and the Sprinter Trueno.

Can't wait to deliver some tofu.

Are you prepared to blow your engine trying to beat the kid in the Levin? ;)

Quick run at Laguna. Man, what a mess. Full field of B/S drivers. Only 12 finished on the lead lap. Lots of wrecks. Plenty of tire penalties. Tried FM 2 to take things lightly and help tires, ended up with enough fuel to run the whole race, despite a 5 lap experiment in FM1. So fuel isn't an issue but I did see some topping up.

@SabanSon welcome.:cheers::gtpflag:

Hah! You're in the next race where I am going to try the no stop!

And the result is that the no stop is iffy. I was doing well until about lap 11 when I started hitting at least 1 sausage kerb a lap. Dropping my lap times to be a second slower at least. Still went from p18 to p11, but with 2 laps to go I was still p9. Overall time was faster by about 3 seconds, so if you are able to keep it all clean it can work.

Very happy to make it into C yesterday, noting that at least my first five days would have been a while back with a DS4. Decided that I’d likely just stick with Gr.3 and Gr.4 Cars for now (mainly the Supra Gr.3 and 86 Gr.4), as I’ve been making a lot more improvement without jumping between cars as much.

A skip barber video training also helped me a lot. It reminds me of watching VHS docos in high school but was well worth the watch. Not sure if I found it on reddit or here, but I’m very grateful for someone sharing it!

I had a lot of fun around Kyoto over the last week, with my main aims trying to keep it clean and consistent.

Thank you. These are my results.

Just for a laugh I thought I would include this video of a takeout from race C last week. Don't know what happened. Had been in this group all race and nothing rough happening. Some slight bumping as going through corners side by side, but no one getting bumped off line or tapped wide or anything. Then this happens. The attacker had been laggy for a bit so don't know what type of contact he might have been seeing, but it sure gave him a turbo boost for the take out. And he did get a penalty.

I ended up taking out a laggy driver in my last race as he went really wide on the double lefts at the start, only he hadn't, so when he warped back into place he was launched off track entering the second turn. He had previously passed me with a lag induced push off so didnt feel too upset, but knew I had no way to know where he was for certain so just had to do my best.
