how much SR/DR do you lose exactly when you -rage- quit a race? I've been running race C only and i've been amazed by the amount of rage quitting in the very first lap , after usually the 1st incident , i assume you dont lose much

I don't think you lose SR but you will lose all the DR as if you finished last. Don't quote me on that though. :D I'm sure someone like our resident expert @Sven Jurgens can chime in with more accurate info.

@MIE1992 I'm running TCS 0 and BB 0 for Race A. QT 1.28.4xx

Zero penalties, and did not get crb. SR gain was 21 (19->40).
Second race: I did exactly the same thing, and SR gain was 13.

At SR D, an SR point is worth extra so that would explain why you gained more in your first race.

13 SR sounds around right, give or take an SR point.

how much SR/DR do you lose exactly when you -rage- quit a race?

-5 SR for leaving although if you scored at least 5 SR points during the race before you quit, there's no difference.

DR is dependent on who finished ahead (or behind, if there were other quitters) of you so impossible to give an exact number but it's usually a lot (1K - 2K).

I wish I knew how to do video editing. I'd like to make a lap guide parody. Something more like how to be a D racer.

My advice would be something like this:

"See this spot right here? That's where most people brake. Screw that. Wait an extra second and you can get a nice bounce off of the wall".
"Sports tires have tread on them. Don't be afraid to go through the sand".
"The apex is wherever you think it is".
"The person behind you will be delighted to see your brake lights come on in unusual places".
"Never use traction control, especially for grid starts".
:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

@Mistah_MCA think about it. 👍

Last time I did, I lost about 700 DR. I don't think I lost any SR, as you're only discourteous to yourself. I beat myself up for quitting, but I'd had it. Happens every time I qualify. I think after qualifying, they put a big target on my back end, and everyone has to try to hit the bullseye. I have no problem starting from the back and profiting from others misfortune as they make their mistakes.

Revenge is a great motivator, somebody had taken my FL by yeeting the chicane (they had a big penalty the next lap), the final lap was the best I have driven all week to steal it back. This might be useful to people trying to put in a qualifying lap, it's old tyres and heavy fuel but gears, etc should be the same:

The track limits at Tertre Rouge are a bit unusual, you have to keep 2 tyres on the curb until it ends then the white line becomes the limit, I think that transition is causing the track limit problems. Everywhere else 2 wheels inside the white line seems about right.

At Mulsanne Corner there are keep right arrows painted on the road, the braking point is just at the last one of those before the right handed kink, if you're in the slipstream brake a bit earlier so you don't make yourself look like a tit.

That is what I call a flying lap. Now to figure out how people are getting 3:03s.

On a side note I have found that hanging in the right hand lane after the first chicane spot on the straight seems to give you a mile or so at an extra mph. At least on my 962 and 787B. Tried it with both on qualifying laps.

Did my first race C this week. Took about 50 laps to get through without a track penalties. Did 2 practice Custom Races this morning. Got my average time down to KP target time, around 3:10.

Started 5th. I did rear end a car at the end of Mulsanne on L1/waited but was clean the rest of the way. Finished 8th. -1 SR. Not bad for a first run.

Well done @GOTMAXPOWER

Best part is how many times you look behind you (with a 10 second gap)

:lol: I do that in qualifying too, I guess the front of cars is nicer to look at :D

I wonder if that could be the crown on the road causing the car to bottom out in the middle, the Nissan is on the rev limiter anyway so can't go much quicker, I keep to the middle because the small signs at the chicanes cost you speed if you're not paying attention.

Ahhhh life at race C. So there I was......
Turning onto the Mulsanne straight on the final lap, I was right behind the leader. I went a bit wide and got a 0.5 track limit penalty. :banghead:
An LM55 went past me, which didn't really matter to me. I got behind and tried to push him forward (hoping he'd fight with the leader :mischievous:). He freaked out and started brake checking me. :odd: In fact, he did it so much that he got penalized for it. Then he really went nuts and blasted me at the next turn (I think it's the first time I ever got a 4 second penalty for being punted). :crazy:
Post-race chat, I told him I was trying to help him.
He said he was reporting me (I ran and hid under my bed). :nervous: :lol:

Wow that was a really well executed punt

i dont think ive done a race this week with less than 5 rage quitters. I do it every once in a while but this is crazy. Race C is enjoyable even bringing up the rear and tbh i actually seem to find time on my laps if im chasing somebody who has wronged me lol. it helps future race pace to let the rage flow through you.

Brilliant advices, Ill add few: fast in slow out, pit every lap so you always got perfect tyres, best way to take 90 degrees corner is using handbrake, push push push, never give up!

Had someone bump me down Mulsanne. Kept yelling for him to do it some more. We had to catch the group in front. He didn't hear my pleas. Road racers need to watch Nascar at Daytona or Talladega to learn that bumpdrafting helps both cars get up and go. As for the punt, never mess with someone named 'insane'. And your other penalty is listening to that mosquito for 25 minutes.

Did it again this morning to a British driver. He thanked me after the race. So some people here in EMEA get it. Others just freak out.

This morning i woke up really early and hoped for a couple of clean races after my coffee and morning cigar. The race gods do not love me. Two really dirty German players we had raging battles before with, back to back 2 races. Lost 43 SR in just two races. 3 more races consecutive clean with a victory, 2nd and 3rd place podiums. Getting better with the rarri.
I love this game!

Just had a fantastic day to throw away a decent run at le mans. I was braking and turning into the Porsche curves while leading in a close battle. All of a sudden the rear just launches out front under me and I am gone. Wtf?:confused:

Finish race and realize I left L1 as a downshift button for no apparent reason. So while heading to brake I slammed it down to third instead of 4th. :D oh well. Still went ok.
Still fun.

An absolutely horrendous ramble around Sarthe. After practicing in as near race conditions as Arcade TT can give, putting down fairly consistent mid 3:08's, I thought, it's time. Right off the bat, almost spin coming out of last chicane on the start stretch. Realize I left TCS at 0. Found during practice that it worked best on 1 during first lap till the tires come in. But then, almost everytime around Mulsanne corner, no matter how slow I was, off into the sand. I backed up my braking even before turning into the first dogleg right. Down to 29 MPH, and still went straight off. And that was while 4 - 12 seconds behind the nearest car. Around the sharp Indy corner, still slower than I've ever gone, not quite in the sand, but so wide as to put my right tires on the outside curb. I would have finished last if one driver hadn't quit. Which, of course, means I finished last.

I'm not capable at all. I wish I could blame the morning sun here glaring in my face, but that was only half the problem. Just how long does the cyclonic dirty air last on a corner after a single car goes through in front of you?
