Sure there is time to be made, a few turns where I was nowhere near the apex.

Unfortunately the top times are all using the Audi, my inability to drive that car has kept me away from it.

That looks about what I can do looking at the first few sector times, although I exit before the end. I'll see if I can get time to run on my GTP account to set an actual time. ;)

Have you raced, if so what's your race pace like?

Not yet, probably only have time over the weekend to do a few races. Will have to see what the race pace is like.
Probably use my alt and run from the back a few times.

At least you avoid most of the T1 chaos that way, although it's very hard to overtake cars. :indiff:

Yesterday I passed at least five (probably more but loads quit) cars there (lap 1) after an idiot wiped them all out and then two ahead were pushing on the run to T2 and I slipped by as they grass cut and then I saw one coming late and knew what was coming so slammed the brakes on (I was right on the inside and in the braking zone) but actually the no braker just clipped the back of me as they were aiming at one of the other two, which they succeeded in taking out along with the other car for good measure. :irked::rolleyes::yuck:

Had a go at just qualifying yesterday and tried to take out the Porsche for race A. Man what a death trap. So twitchy it is crazy. But man what a challenge, and feels so good when you just nail a smooth line through a turn and get on the gas perfectly. Still got a good half a second at least in my lap so looking to go back.

Also went to try the R18 at Autopolis. I can see where the speed comes from but I am really struggling to adapt my driving for it to get the speed to work. More challenges. Sort of sitting on the fence about racing more as this was the field I got into for my race yesterday. Makea it hard to keep focused when I spin after just touching a wheel on the grass and by lap 3 there is a 10 second gap between each spot.

Hi all,

Some strange things happens lately. 2 video's of today, same situation, but different views.
What happened: I came out of the corner as 2nd with 3rd close behind me.
In the beginning of the last straight my game freezes for a second or so and suddenly the car behind me is now in front of me.
We both came with good speed out the last corner. I asked him if he noticed it, but he didn't. Doesn't matter ofcourse, but this is weird.
In the video you can not see that my game freezes. So, I don't know if this behavior is a ps4 side problem or a server side problem.

Last night something similar happened. I was braking while the game freezed and after a few seconds I was turning around the corner while the car in front of me was crashed into the wall, caused by me. I was breaking, but the game didn't pick it up.

Also last night, just after the start of one the races in Laguna: the whole pack was split up. Half of pack was already driving and the second half of the pack was miles behind. Well, maybe not miles, but there was a huge space between the two packs.

So far, nobody else has reported a problem like this. It could be an early sign of a dying PS4. Sony trying to "encourage" you to buy a PS5.

I've been racing at Autopolis this week. Got home early on monday, did some laps and set a time, and I knew I would be driving this combo all week. I've really been getting in a groove. Racing from the back, but this weekend I'll race on my main and see how I do. Been in some (relatively) fast B/S rooms, and the racing has been mostly clean, with a few exceptions. Best finish was 2nd, in a room that my 33.0 would have put me 3rd on the grid, but also got a 4th and a couple of 6ths in rooms that would have gridded me mid pack at best. One room was 32's back to 15th. Lots of fun so far. Passing is difficult, but not impossible, and I've had a few really good dices with clean drivers. Most passes are taking advantage of slight errors. Someone gets a bit wide and you steal the inside line, but I've also gotten a better drive to get inside on the front straight, after the first turn and after the second hairpin. I find the key for me is conserve tires early, push in the middle but keep it clean and planted, then I have enough tire at the end to push hard which usually gets me a few spots as others make errors on toasted tires. BB is +2.

As we know next week races, I would like to invite everybody to do some simulation of race C. Im tired of Autopolis... I set a lobby at 18:30 polish time, race start at 18:45, everybody welcome:) lobby will be only for friends so if you wanna join, just send me friend request on PSN, my nickname is same as here:cheers::cheers::cheers:

Another week, another DR reset. Race B is sketchy for SR so easy to get a 2 second penalty. Do it twice in one race and its bye bye your ratings. B/B to D/E once again. The thing is how do you regain SR in D/E lobbies, so many dodgy racers myself included.... [According to the penalty system that is, I do try to keep it clean honest]
The games broken in lower lobbies am getting pretty pissed, I stopped playing for a while, came back. Now I remember why I stopped playing, I actually got to SR S yesterday, now I have to drive with people with no race craft and a total inability to think before making a move. Am sure the game was never this bad for penalties until the last few months? PD have given up with try to get it up to scratch and would rather waste time on **** like that Redbull time trail junk.

Time wasted here could have been used to improve the penalty system, not give us a Yaris..

Yes I'm not sure how long those softs will be good for next week, looks a good race for racing from the back though. :)

Much better than this week's, managed 6th (EMEA) from 18th but only by lots of cars crashing and by me being too aggressive (no punts or anything awful), just pushing, the field is too tightly packed and the dirty air is a killer, didn't get one full speed lap in. :yuck:

Will stay on my USA account for future races this week I think.💡

I am done for the week, a weirdly dissatisfying one. 8 wins but too often from pole where everyone was very slow. When there was some racing I cannot see the brake marker boards in 2 key turns because of the driver names above the cars and no one seemed capable of actually racing, just showing past. Bit garbage TBH which is a shame because the GT3 of SS tyres is probably the most fun driving experience I have had in this game.

next week, I will try Alsace as I have never really raced there but urrrrgh.

Big thanks to @RacingGrandpa for the tip on the newer Porsche in race A.👍 The old one is faster, but super sketchy. The new one hates to turn but is so planted. Within 4 laps I was faster than my old time.
Isn't it cool how a Porsche can launch like a rocket out of a corner when you steer it wrong/right? And... if you cycle the throttle at the right time at the apex, it squats and shifts some weight around like a real Porsche. It's like hitting the afterburner.

Do I have to use FF to win on race B, or only if am an average racer? Getting a bit bored of the TT. Had 4 or 5 wins since my reset, now back up into DR B. And the punt and diving has started again, you know somethings wrong with a game when the lower lobbies are cleaner, too many try hards for my liking. Someone just tried racing the Subaru they where on pole, me 2nd in the TT, I won after they went off probably due to me being right up his tail pipe after a couple of corners. Any other average drivers won using an off meta?
Edit: The same guy was in the next race, which was a total crash fest. Coming down the start straight after the first lap and the guy in front had managed to collect 8 seconds of penalties in 1 lap. My friend in his WRX went from SR B to E and another player had the full reset like I did earlier. Needless to say I lost SR again, the cycle begins again. Get put in a lower lobby. Start on pole gain some SR. Get put into a more competitive lobby lose SR and so on...
Jeez got reset again, this time just one SR down in the race was enough, DR back at 7k.
So far today I have been SR S, A, B, C, D and E and DR D, C and B, this cant be right?
No wonder the player base has gone from
196,200 in September to 73,000 for October, PD come on fix the game please. Everyone is leaving,
