Race A is my vibe this week. Put in approximately ~30 practice laps or so and have recorded a decent time. Got many Pole Positions along the way. Ran into @sturk0167 in a few races, and I wonder why they don't have a qualifying time (you're pretty fast on the track!) until you actually get to the racing. Lots of incidents occurring between players who just don't wanna let up and feel entitled to their position and/or line. Got bumped from the left, right, and behind and shoved into other players as well. Apologies to any players on here I might have got pushed into; I can assure you it wasn't intentional. Starting on pole is basically a fight for your life. Better hope the pack behind you does battle or you're toast!

With that, I managed to record three more wins today, something I would never have thought would happen!

After my 11th win, I have finally climbed up to DR A! After all this time being stranded in the middle of DR B (outstanding one DR reset thanks to penalty system mayhem) I never thought I'd see the day. I don't know how long I'm gonna be able to keep it for (my pace isn't that fast, and my course skill & knowledge isn't too great!), so I took a screenshot to savor the moment. :D

Might do some more racing tomorrow to see if I can really keep it. The battles have usually been super-close with Race A so far, so who knows what will happen!

Well that was interesting. First dailies I've run in many weeks (I'd dropped my SR down to 69, hehe). 4 races, 3 poles, 3 podiums, 416 points and a bump to 82 SR (at least rose back to "S"). Had 4 wins, but would encounter second place braking about 100 feet late for the final corner every time.

But really enjoyed the Demio. Will definitely run that race a few more times this week.

Bathurst was pretty good tonight, just the one really bad driver. Jag felt great, set fastest qual time with the Mugane but the jag will come close if I tie a lap together. Mustang not too far off neither, if you want something different. Couldn't get the viper or 458 to work for me.

Tough grids though, man pace is hot.

Mustang is good. Forgot where I started. Had an RSR ahead and a Viper behind. Viper couldn't catch me and the RSr was a bit loose in the rear. I moved up to 5th or 6th. DId a tandem slide with the car ahead of me. I hate when the car doesn't get grip from a standstill or rolling. I had TCS1 on and the car was like spinning its tyres as it does at Red Bull Ring Rain conditions. I was just about wagging the tail and had enough. The Viper was coming and I decided to pit. That was Lap 7.

Came out 11th and just did some purple sector 1s to catch up to P10 in a WRX. It was in a pack of survivors(P8 & P9). Passed it on the last lap as we we exchanging undercuts. Plus, WRX had too much rear brake. oNe and done for me.

Race A is still a blast today, seen a couple of crazy divebombs but have learned to cover up the inside line into the hairpin, I've had one guy ride the outside to take the place and he got a definite hat tip from me, otherwise it's been a lot of aggressive but fair racing. No wins today but a few solid second places, got my DR back to a low B (about where I belong I think) and currently a 5 clean race streak

My Kudos graph has been a bit of a rollercoaster for a few days:

Well, managed to gain a DR reset last night in race C. Got destroyed t1 by a late braker and was at the mercy of the midfield from that point on. Dunno how many cars I hit that were coming back on the track after binning the corkscrew but there were a few. Seemed every contact was a penalty for me regardless if I was in front or behind, such a dumb system sometimes. The lobby wasn't even dirty by any means just a lot of aggression. Anyways I guess I'll be adding to my win tally repairing my DR from 15000 this week.

Congrats, it can be tough to get to that "A" rating. I have found the racing in the splits above that line to be more fun though, overall, so maintaining it and gridding against other A drivers more often has made the game more rewarding. Still trying to inch my way to an A+ someday, but I've got to get faster and more consistent before I'll be able to stack enough points up to that mark.

Fun racing you and Joe Raider yesterday. Sorry for any contact... it's all but unavoidable in this event, but I tried to play fair even if there was contact, and not steal any position that I hadn't earned with a legitimate run. That race is more of a chess match, at least if you don't purposely shove people off. Need a good long run before you're able to pass anyone, and you have to think about how to defend while trying to pass the leader, on that last lap. Really neat setup for a race.

Did another one. Finished where I started. The FFs hold me up from the Cutting to Skyline. That's where I make my time in the Mustang. Have to back out of it and lose my momentum. Tried backing off a bit earlier, but still caught the RCZ I started behind.

Scraped the inside wall as the RCZ looked to be going wide on the marbles and messed up my rhythm. Allowed the other Mustang to close in down Conrod. Mustang bumps into me, mid-corner, at The Chase(gets the penalty). The TT ahead of me, served its penalty. So, I had to also slow for that. Still, a good combo for me this week.

Gee those are quick fast laps.

Bathurst is tricky as you lose a lot from the cutting to forrests elbow and I absolutely DESPISE anyone trying to pass up there unless I make an error, there is just no room you giblet. The FF carry a surprising amount of speed through those three left handers, really surprising.

My qual is a 13.3, I lose time at reid park through mcphillamy and also T1 I am not great TBH. Make up all my time braking into the dipper, probably half a second on my peers through there and I still make the apex at the dipper. But it is a crap place to be quick.

Absolute FIREWORKS in the top b lobby just now.
Everything about that race played perfectly into my GTS philosophy!!!

Replay shared! search tpc.
@sturk0167 dressed the Megane up for prom night and she PUT OUT :)
The TT is a sitting duck if Megane drafts.
SO STOKED RIGHT NOW
ONE AND DONE TONIGHT! I’ll watch that replay several times more!!!
I love it when it seems

Cheers GTP :)

Daily Races are a bust for me this week. I can't gel with Laguna Seca in Gr3, I normally love Bathurst but I am horrifically slow this week for some reason and 3 laps is no good if you're stuck near the back. Race A is nothing but SR trouble. I don't see me running many, if any, more.

Race A would be great if the draft wasn't so strong. I could jump out to a couple tenth lead from pole out of the first corner to only be passed by the end of the quick (well not so much in the Demio) left right.

I never really noticed this on many other hairpins, but it seems the way to overtake there is to do the classic supercross block pass. They might not even have a run, but will dive low and

I felt like this guy:

Good morning friends,
So yesterday evening I did 2 races. The first was a time trial. I was the lone American surrounded by 8 green flags starting 4th. The top 3 escaped and I escaped fifth.
It was the second race in which the fireworks took place. In that race, I was blocked 3 times by a dirty TT, but got by with a sweeeet move outbraking him at the chase. That was 6-5th.
Lo and behold as I came through the right hander the 2-3-4 positions ALL were off track, ALL S Americans.
I pulled by into third at Murray’s, the TT baby punted me but I held through and up Mountain Straight 2 cars served their penalties. I was up into second!
But, a very fast Brazilian was in slipstream range up Mountain Straight and through Griffins Bend...
He hung with me and I tried to max out Forrests Elbow but punched it a touch early and had to lift and reapply the loud pedal.
The Brazilian stuck a perfect ten exit from .7 back.
Luckily, I was in the Megane and approaching the Chase I still had .4 or so gap...
I KNEW this A plus was going to give me a baby shove under braking KNEW it.
I’ve raced there enough and actually raced him before.
So I braked a touch early and held 100 percent. The hit came he still almost succeeded but I barely managed to hold on, then he came around my right so I shoved him through the 200 meter block
And I knew what was coming at Murray’s he was full rage at this point he tried to full throttle me off but I was ready and he only succeeded in getting himself 4 seconds, and all his attempts to off me resulted in his countrymen and ONE OF MINE in a Viper catching over the finish line.
Leo nova prat had long since crossed in first but USA went 2-3 as all the South Americans had pens.
People might go to tpc there and check it out and say man that was dirty, but I’m still 99.
I’ve noticed if someone hits you first when you react 99 percent of time the game won’t pen you, or at least me, I was on a 4 crb streak too...
People might say oh that’s arcade not sim maybe the collision physics need work...
I actually find racing real people like this with real emotion and real dirty drivers to fight sometimes is waaay more fun than a more “sim” type game.
I have the other games but the only other I play is DR2 (that game is EPIC-9 million players are never wrong) but GTS online can’t be beat it’s just better as sim of RACING.
It just is. I’m all for the super strict penalty system but from the standpoint of a RACE from the standpoint of FUN, imo this games without equal.
I love it when you get close and clean and fast but real racing ain’t always clean, neither is GTS, but that is more realistic RACING wise imo.
If there’s never any fighting it’s not interesting.
When you go online in GTS you have to be ready for anything and I think that’s the most fun way.
99 doesn’t mean tempers can’t flare and you can’t take advantage of you are prepared and collect 1500 points in 3 laps like I did yesterday...That’s fun stuff. In GTS you gotta have HEART.

The DR repair went well yesterday. After 4 or 5 straight wins on race C with my best total time a 18.09. I finally started matching some competitors and the racing was good. I managed to keep my nose clean haha, only picked up one .5 sec penalty on the day at the corkscrew. My DR is now back in the mid 30k region, by the end of the night I was pretty much back in top split races and I think everyone has worked out the kinks a bit as the racing was on the whole a bit tidier. Had some good performances using the beetle but I am seeing guys do well in the RCF and vantage also. The beetle just doesn't wear tires for me here like some of the other cars and has tremendous stability cornering, the fast left going up the hill before corkscrew is where the beetle shines for me, once you figure out the turn in you can get on power very early with the beetle there, I've surprised a few of the big iron runners when they hesitate the length of that exit curb and I breeze by them up the hill, the beetle makes that corner not as scary, less pucker factor if you will. Finished on the podium and in top 5 consistently, good quality racing for the most part. Overtakes were coming off mistakes or good car positioning mostly, some action into t1, definitely the best corner to try a move under braking as @GOTMAXPOWER demonstrated in a earlier post, results may vary if you try to replicate his version haha. Might try running the rs01 in quali and see if I can find the pace in it for a bit more laptime, may even be able to eek out a bit more from the beetle than what I did Monday also....

Gee bathurst is tough to be consistent on. So easy to make a small error and you cross the line, book 2.15 .. .like what, how'd that cost me a second?

Was following a guy who qualified with a 12 flat vs my 13.3 and it was interesting. Sector 1 he beats me by a tenth or so, cutting through Mcphillamy maybe another tenth at most, bottom of the track through the chase and Murray's corner I'd gain a bit back and we are the same entering the dipper.

But mid dipper through the exit at forests elbow he is slapping me upside the head by a full second to 1.2 seconds. How he rotates the car so quickly to turn left through the dipper I have no idea. Also no idea how he flies through the right before the elbow but still tucks her in tight for a solid exit.

Demoralising.

The Megane on b combo in race is sooo much better than the other cars. Today watch the races as more and more Megane are used.
The tt only hope is breaking draft. If a couple work together and break draft there’s not a lot to do.
The Megane though can get by in draft AND outbrake...

Yeah I am trying to avoid FF so using the Jag but in qualifying my optimal is 13.1 Jag, 13.1 TT and 12.9 Megane so not much in it. Issue with the Jag is it struggles to draft past the FF brigade.
