Finally got a dub and this time not getting into any mess with the other drivers.

Will say that I'm kinda surprised that the Veyron isn't being used much. Probably due to the weight and brakes despite having a lot of horsepower in it.

Oh and once again grouped along with @05XR8. Good race.

Next week's races:
N300 BMB Infield A
Gr.3 Catalunya
Gr.2 Dragon Trail Seaside

Race C seems particularly fun to me!

I'm really enjoying Race C this week, Interlagos is one of my favourite tracks, and the Vantage is my favourite Gr.3 car, so probably helps that it's doing well there. I've been trying the 1M/6S/6S strategy which has gone well, nearly got a win from a no-quali 14th on the grid, although my DR has climbed a bit now, and got a rare fastest lap in my last race. The racing's been pretty clean too, seems easier to spot and avoid dive-bombs and punts than some other tracks, although that didn't help when one missed me but hit the car in front and practically stopped right in front of me meaning I hit him, which of course got me 4s.

Think I'll have a go at 6M/7S, not sure if the 2-stopper works from higher up the grid.

OMG just tried the Genesis, being a huge Genesis fan I really should have done this earlier, and 5 laps of Q dropped virtually a whole second off my time and I know there is at least another half second in this car. It's just so stable you never feel it's going anywhere but where you want it to go, which for someone at my level is really nice. Now to find out how it does with the tyres.

Posting after a loooong time.

Key update - I finally bought myself the Logitech G29 and a PlaySeat. I wonder why I didn't buy them sooner. So much fun.

Race B - The Veyron is a monster in Monza. In one race I was running 5th, got knocked out and ended up 11th on Lap 2. I finished the race in 6th. It's just so quick on the straights that it gobbles up everything ahead of it.

Race C is proper fun. Good mix of cars. I am using the Hyundai here and it drives very well. May not be the quickest, but handles well and turns well. Tried the 911, but could not get near my Hyundai quali time. Was a full second away. Will give the Aston a go.

I am the running 8M/5S strategy.

First Genesis race Q2 and a scrappy win, got called a cheater by the guy who thought running me wide every time I overtook him was fine, but me punting him was for some reason wrong????? No I didn't need to punt him, but just got fed up of his terrible behaviour and felt he needed a lesson.

Sounds like he's been watching too many touring car races. Or Days of Thunder: Rubbin' son is racing. He rubbed you, you rubbed him back.

Thank you for mentioning the Genesis I just gave it a try after reading your post. The car is glued to the track and while I am not ever going to trouble the top spots it's at least helping me get some solid top 10 / 11 ish finishes after starting at the back.

Once I feel more comfortable with the track and car I might actually put in a qualifying time and see how I do racing for reals

Anyone else dislike the Hyundai cos it sounds like a bunch if drowning cats? What an absolutely dreadful noise.

Race c, I am being murdered out of the last corner. I take it wide, I take it slow, I take it fast and I take it narrow but relentlessly get killed by guys I am racing in SRS and DRA/B. I lose at least half a second there, even if I am up someone's bumper they pull away. I am using TC2 but I know some of you guys use it too so that cannot be the entire reason.

Haha yeah. It has a sublime nails scraping chalkboard quality.

Maybe braking too late? Not using Aston Martin?

Last night I ended up in the dreaded B B ranks. I ran into the same people as last time. Of course one dove in lap one so I rammed him off for a four second foul, and made it to 2nd by race end.
He tried typing after but I just left. The guy is totally erratic. The b b are regulars lol.
Realistically with these tires my Mustang 29.8 ain’t enough...:(.
I’ve pretty much given up on proper racing on c at this point although today I might get online much earlier than yesterday...
So far this week I don’t have anything positive to say about C race.

Edit I dunno on sector three and haven’t saved anything this week to check.

Update from the cheap seats: Ran some Q laps at Monza to see what felt good. I really hate meta cars in general, and I REALLY hate the RCZ, so I tried everything, and got my PB in the Atenza. Decided to run a couple races, and was gridded P2 in the middle of a flock of RCZ's and Veyrons. Those things are fast in straight line, but corner like shopping carts, so I was catching everyone in the corners. Lost a couple spots, gained a couple spots. Got an SR down (no pen) for bumping a guy going into Roggia and a 1-sec nerf for running wide into Vialone, but fumbled back up to P2. The leader went wide off of the Parabolica on L3, and I was able to hold P1 for all of L4 for only my third win. Improbable...

Second race was a wreckfest, and better left unmentioned...

Next week's races

Race A Blue Moon Bay Speedway - Infield A N300

Race B Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya GP Layout GR3

Race C Dragon Trail - Seaside GR2

I think i will be racing next week at Barcelona with 911 rsr or with the Vantage. Race A may be fun too. Wonder what the car is...
the citron is also a good car to try at Barcelona I have had many wins and many good finishes with that car there if you can survive the start with the long run up to turn 1 it is money from that point on

Really? I have found it pretty good, the odd idiot but mostly pretty good and my SR has gone from 23 to 99 in 5 races.

Here is one from last night with the mazda, sorry a bit long and boring but there are two moments of "pick a lane and shut your eyes" where i managed to come out in front of a squabbling pack with penalties mixed in.

I still feel folks don't know how to race smart, I found an RCZ up my clacker after he pit, i just let him by, i was not racing him. So often i pit and guys want to race me...like why buddy, you're just slowing us both down.

I love Interlagos. It’s arguably the best flow in this game imo.
This week so far though I haven’t had one good race, then figured maybe at B S being handicapped by the 911 might be fun but that didn’t work out.
I’m a magnet this week for stupidity. I mean it’s nuts the luck I’ve had plus it’s like everyone knows there’s so much SR and there’s racing soft so it seems like everyone just dives.
It’s been disappointing so far on my end. Of course I will still race it, just not expecting much.
Every time I end up at this B A sr level I get so irritated by the stupidity.
Since I reset my 48k and I’m B now (almost A even after the debacles I’ve been getting top five)
but since I’m low on DR there’s nothing preventing me from all out war when people attack me.
I mean at some point you think ok go back A plus and only race FIA, but I only like some FIA combos and often love the daily combos.
I just think for online short races are best.
RS tire too, I’m not good at it.
I’m just tired of bs at bs bb.
If I get some good races my tune will change.

Re the guy wanting to race in dailies I almost always race everyone hard regardless in these dailies.

I did 3 C races this morning for SR purposes (Tokyo killed my rating).

I normally don't like doing the C races, because of how long they are. Often, I'll get bored, and just zone out.
Interlagos is pretty action-packed, the whole time though. It is definitely more entertaining than somewhere like Fuji.

I used the Lancer all 3 times today. It seemed pretty good to me. For the sake of tire preservation, I had it set to TCS 3 & BB +3. That made all 4 of the tires wear pretty evenly. 👍

PS. Stay away from the GT-Rs. Every one I've seen has been totally out of control. :scared:

Is your TCS kicking in while exiting the last corner, and hindering your exit?

Edit: This is the latest lap I have from Interlagos, it’s from a few months ago. But it will at least give you an idea of how others are taking that corner. :)

I recall doing that to you in this same race some time in 2019, it's just a matter of getting on the throttle as soon as possible, but I don't use TCS...

On that last turn if I brake too late I can’t get turned in. Makes it slow.
If I slow too much and touch even a tiny bit of gas before apex it’s no good.
I do best in the Aston Martin on that turn.
It’s a hard turn.
Might turn on driving line and check the line too.

Yep Meekrab you did eat me alive there and Pigems, you are on the gas considerably earlier but it's a Group 4 car and AWD so if I try that in Group 3 she will push wide. Need to find a way to hit the gas earlier though, getting just cleaned up through there.

Ah, my bad. I thought it was Gr.4 this week, I should have a Gr.3 lap, once sec.

Here’s a Gr.3 lap, it’s in the Merc.

Interesting, no TC so you're shifting from 2nd to 3rd early to cut wheel spin. YOu also carry very good mid corner speed.

That’s one of the bigger tricks I’ve learned along the way, but it usually works better with torquey cars. Drop to the lower gear just for the turn in, and then shift back up on the exit to help with wheel spin, but also you don’t have to shift after the apex. A shift is a lift. 👍
