 This is the perfect summary of Willow. I missed the Merc race though. Did y'all do that after the FT1500 round?

Thanks for hosting as always @Pigems. Think there were 2 or 3 of those races I just gave up and quit on. Fun but frustrating tracks. Also really should've remember the overtake button on the Super Formula cars, ha.

Thanks for having me and last night was a lot of fun for my first real lobby event. Really well organised and great bonus races that made me realise how bad I still am in the F1 cars.

Now it's at a time/day more suitable for me, I hope to join future lobbies and see some of you out on the track again.

I didn't know you were gonna jump, too. I expected you to go driving past, and maybe I'd jump over you.
Then I thought you may have jumped too, because when I crashed in the dirt, you were also there. 👍
Nice pic. :)

I didn‘t use that one until the final two laps. It was kinda baffling that nobody went full throttle through T3; I rearended a lot of people there and gave them a speed bump :D After i discovered that the overtake-button could be used I used that one to pull my 2sec gap to P2 and carried that to the finish line

Yeah, as soon as I saw you veer of I intended to follow behind, that was too good of a photo op to miss out on! :D

I wasted too much of my Boost in the early parts of the SF race, I should have saved more for the end. :)

I'll have to watch the replay. Thanks for saving it. I always forget.

I need to see the Nurb replays.
T1 I thought I’d pulled a great late overtake on Pigems only to be hit from behind & spin out.
The over one somebody managed to free the tyre wall and it went onto the track, I hit it like an oil drum.
I was confused by that at the time, I saw you and Sturk reset as ghosts so we were 3 wide at turn 2. I don't think the tyres had loaded in on my screen so I had no idea that you were trying to avoid a roadblock when you hit me and I was really confused how your car had ended up spinning from it. The replay answers all questions

I had no idea that the car would go through T3 at full throttle.

The slightest tap, made to look like the kiss of death

Same here. That's why I could never catch up to the front runners after I screwed up the start. I was like why are y'all slowing down here, every lap I was hitting someone.

My car was full tilt around T3 and the final turn... then again I was in the wrong car!
I wondered why everyone was crashing all the time and then after a few laps I thought “hmm... those A+ guys should be causing me problems by now and they’re nowhere in sight :lol::lol:“
I’d stayed in the same car as the previous race on the oval and hadn’t noticed Pigems had changed the spec

Just been watching the replays...loads of fun but I must apologise for what I now realise is a very unconventional corner entry line. I knew already that I prefer a slow in, fast out cornering style but I'd had no idea to what extreme I've been carrying that. From other drivers points of view it looks like I'm leaving the door open then trying to turn in on them. Clearly I need to work on some trail braking and a smoother corner entry.
That being said, I'm glad that for the most part this deficiency on my part has not caused too much grief to other drivers.
On thinking about it, I believe this cornering habit goes back 30 years to when I rode in RL a big, heavy, very powerful (at the time) Japanese sports bike with less then ideal cornering traits but good brakes and acceleration. Slow down late and deep, square off the corner, then nail the throttle through a late apex and leave everyone in my exhaust fumes. If I've been doing it that long it may take a bit to retrain.

Also, apologies to Kevstah for putting my nose in where it didn't belong on Big Willow second race T2 and Pigems at Nurb reverse grid for running you wide. Neither case caused an advantage for me in the long run, but my racecraft and situational awareness need some work.

Thanks again for inviting me to join in, it's the best fun I've had since I had to give up combat flight simming due to RL commitments.

NP, I was struggling to keep it on track all race going wide nearly every corner, I’d forgotten just how slidey the sand was, we need to rename it the dust bowl.

Okie dokie, as I mentioned, this weeks Bonus Races will be really good. The twist however, is that this week there will only be 1 Bonus Race. 6 Laps around Le Mans No Chicane in a 1997 Toyota MR2 GT-S with Stock Specs on Sports Soft tires. Fuel will be on x8, Tires will be on x9, Slipstream will be on Strong and we’ll starting with a reverse grid based on the previous races results. It’s a really great combo and with the multipliers it makes for an almost guaranteed 2 stop, tires won’t be huge issue, but only the stingiest of fuel savers stands any hope of making it a 1 stop. In other words, it should be a great race! :D

Sounds fun, Le Mans without the chicane is a lot more flowing and ideal for slower classes. I remember the N200 and N400 daily race, it was one of my favourites, hopefully I can make it.

I'm not sure I've ever driven the MR2. Either way, I'll give it a whirl for a few laps around it tomorrow.

MR2 is a pleasant surprise, drives very nicely :D
Race is going to run close to half an hour if my lap times are any indication. Definitely two stops for me, just over half a lap of fuel left after the second lap @ full bottle and there'll be less than that if it's a rolling start. I'd estimate that severe fuel management and some luck with drafting is required to make it a one stop. Looks like a lot of fun :)

My first time driving most of these will be the lobby . Nearly finished the liveries. Since it's a hatch, I just need to find a P plate for the back of the Demio.....

If you fuel save once up to full speed on the straights, does it loose momentum if you change the mixture?
Obviously I’m gonna be fuel saving if I’m stuck in the pack and exploiting the tow.

I slapped some paint on my MR2 and took it out to the Lemans track. I learned some new techniques.
I'm no expert, but I believe the pros try to approach the Mulsanne corner backwards, with the wheels locked up.
Oh, and you're gonna want to hit as many of those green things as possible. 👍

Tonight’s Bonus Race will be a Special one make race using the 1997 Toyota MR2 GT-S at Le Sarthe No Chicane for 6 laps. Fuel will be x9, Tire wear x8, Slipstream will be Strong and the cars will be Stock (100/100). It should be a really fun race. :)
