Hello Easy Company! Good to finally have a platoon name. Had fun last night with you all. Probably not going to be online today. I have a ton of housework to do that I neglected over the weekend and I have also been neglecting my friends on the 360. Probably going to start alternating between the 360 and DayZ. Looks like my new card and power supply are on their way. Can't wait till they get here. Me+better frames and graphics=more effective aiming and happy me =D

so how do i get the TS info? I made the post requirement.

It is on the first forum page. Down below the platoon banners. Colored letters, can't miss.

Sorry Newt for leaving you solo in NW airfield. Hope you made it out OK?

Btw, finally got back a Coyoty pack... Oh and a M107! (thanks to Newt and Blaze) :D

I will try to get online later, but my next destination will be the largest airfield. However if all goes to plan, then I have the following supplies to deliver:

*M240 rounds
*One DMR Mag
*M1014 rounds

Dom let me know when you are near your hideout and I will log in to give you the nvgs Fluid, beavis and myself grabbed for you.

Too tired to go into detail atm about today lol hopefully one of the guys fills you guys in.

I wonder if Tasteycakes will find anymore NVG's.

I wont be able to log in til after work today (around 5) and I will need to get my buddy up and running (Bob). Then we will both head up that way. We should probably be able to get there by about 6 CST.

I will hold on to them for you then Dom. I have work today and I will hand them to someone else to hold for you because I am pretty sure I will be at work when you get online.

Last night pretty much we where scanning the west part of the map from the boarder and the forest close to that. It was myself, fluid, ghunn, newt, and blaze. Beavis made his way to us after we found the camp. Well newt spotted it after the server restarted to find tents again and he had previously been teleported to that location before the restart lol.

There was a good 10 tents or so. Newt and myself got a bag upgrade and newt and the rest got m4 sds. I got a good amount of bizon sd mags and one of the guys found a gps and gave it to me. There was surprisinly no nvgs there. We made our way to one of our camps nearby and dropped stuff there and after Ghunn left and Fluid was playing another game beavis, newt, and myself headed back out. Yet again Newt spotted another camp.

We found another bag for Fluid and gave him the cords. He got on not long after and after newt went offline beavis and I kept on and at one point met up with Fluid. On the way to Ibo's camp Fluid spotted a tractor and inside where gps and nvgs. So I grabbed the nvgs and beavus took the gps till we got to Doms hideout. Then he gave that to Fluid.

So yeah I had basically spent all day checking for vehicles and camp and this is what we found.

One quick note. It looks like the server is stopping so we have no co admin controls to restart it. It is still online but it is day atm. I sent walker a message asking him what he wants to do now about the server. I am going to take a nap while I wait because I am not running around in the daylight with two nvgs lol.
I do not know how the host works with stopping a server so don't be surprised if its not online at all.

It looks like Day Z itself might be having some issues. I am on the forums and it's taking quite some time to switch between threads/go back to the main forum.

New patch for Arma 2 (not Beta patch) seems to have caused quite a large number of errors and bugs.
1.62 patch, which fixes a lot of bugs from the vanilla game (and Xeno's domination client file which broke the game for most of the normal game users).

It also adds more visual options, however it produces a glitch on LOD settings in some computers. My suggestion is not update from Steam (yet), as it turns the client into the 1.62, leaving making the DayZ client incompatible with server versions that hasn't been updated.

I'm not sure about you guys, but it improve my performance by 5+ish FPSs. I suggest you to don't update until a Revised DayZ update is created for the vanilla update.

I also played this DayZ server on Saturday, and I did made it to the airfield to find no one camping there (trip from Komarovo, passing by Zelenogorsk and that big radio-tower until I reached the northern airfield), found a Lee Enfield along the way and got killed while checking out game my map. It's cool and all but I'm not seeing the appeal, perhaps with a faster computer in a few days I might be able to gain some enjoyment out of it, but it's pretty boring to walk about for 4 hours in the middle of the forest to latter get kill by starvation or temperature drop as I don't know how to use the items(this applies to food and water, I honestly don't know how to use them, the whole scheme is more complicated than the normal game, and even that one is complicated).

Dom will you be on tonight? I have work soon and you are just an hour behind me lol so I can just hold on to the nvgs till I hope on tonight. I am still at your hideout. I will be home around 10 pm most likely tonight so that would be 9 for you.

I will be on as soon as I get home more than likely. I will probably be on until...10, maybe 11. It depends on when I want to come in to work tomorrow (later I come in, later I leave).

This game is much better played with a group. As for using the items, when you are in your inventory (by clicking 'G'), just right click to a said item, like water or food, and it'll give you an option to eat (same goes to making a bonfire, gathering firewood, etc.). Also, you can use your mouse scroll to pick up objects (or switch from primary to secondary). Just point towards an object/s on the ground and an option will pop-up telling you what to do. It's pretty much the action button. Opening a door/climbing a ladder/Gutting animals/Cooking? Mouse scroll.

The inventory UI is horrible in Arma 2. Rocket himself said so. It's just a matter of getting the hang of it. Still horrible though.

Here are some known glitches you need to be careful of:
  • Never take another backpack while you still have a backpack on. If you do, the previous backpack will disappear along with the gear that was in it.
  • Never switch a primary weapon (Weapon A) with another (Weapon B) inside your backpack while you have weapon A equipped. Drop Weapon A first, then equip Weapon B in your backpack. Then put Weapon A inside your backpack. Otherwise, you will lose Weapon A.
  • Be careful where you drop things you want to grab later on. I usually stay away from big boulders, deer stands, or anything that looks like a platform. I've lost a ton of stuff from doing so.

Not really...

Just pick the weapon in the backpack and move it to the right (move it out as primary weapon).
Then the primary weapon you are holding will move into the backpack (if you got enough room for it of course).

Tried this multiple times. Works like a charm.

I was talking about just directly switching it. But yes, that should work IF you have the space.

I think it was, Ghuun. It just straight respawned with the server restart. That's my best guess anyway.

Also, another tip. Unless Walker changes it, never swim with any gear other than your pistol/utility items. You will lose them (they sink to the bottom). And since my crew of two tries to operate on the high seas (yarr). We ended up losing stuff to this.

I have seen it disabled on servers before, just this one has it enabled. Anyway, on my way home now.

By the way, just putting this out there for discussion.

Clan tags: seeing our server list full off =EZ= tags, might/will scare off players. Something to consider? I like playing with our big group, non-clan members might feel different. Might get a bit lonely on our server. ;)

I was under the impression that it was client based, aka buggy coding in Arma2.

Yes Ghunn. But Beavis wrecked it. It got left at Doms.

Ok, I think then it is the same one Jicks and I found when we met up with the bunch of you a day ago at Ibo's camp. Jicks ended up hitting a tree and it blew up. I think Dom is right and it respawned back to to where we found it after the restart.

It just sounded a little to familiar.

I should be on in a hour or so.

How many people signed up for the site just to join this thread? good to see the site getting some more members.

My computer build should be going ahead in February/March and I really hope this is out for Arma III by that point.
