I think, at least for today, I may take a break from Day Z. After reading the forums this morning and after last night, I'm sort of disgusted with the playerbase en masse. So many people on the forums saying "man-up" against ghosters/scripters.

These people just love to watch the world burn and it's sad. I am just overly angry at the fact that Walker, Tastey and Beavis have literally no control over what happens on their own server. It also saddens me that we have to result to the same tactics as these pathetic excuses for human life just to be successful.

Bob can attest, I have never cheated and don't condone it in the least. If we have to apply these tactics, I don't know that I can be a part of that.

I wish we could password protect and just have fun with clan vs clan scrimages and then go out to other servers to apply tactics. That way, at least we know the people who killed us/thwarted hours of planning weren't cheating to do it.

I won't be part of cheating to "level" the field either. I have accepted that the only way to combat these guys is to 1) realize we are at a huge disadvantage 2) try not to get discouraged and 3) practice against such tactics offline in our training so we can be better prepared to handle it. For example I just scripted a training mission where you can teleport around (NE airfield overwatch spot). We can have a cheat team be the ghosters and the other try and defend against it. I think we can become good at it and learn to deal with this. We'll never have the upper hand of course, and it sucks that an immersive game like this totally breaks down when we encounter the cheats, but at least we can pick some off even when they are cheating. I think the game will get better as well and minimize this... huge growing pains right now with a very unsecure platform.

It's starting to become a pain in the ass. Fights are a bitch due to server hoppers and disconnecters. The fact that Walker was one of the few non-abusing admins yesterday is saddening.

But there still is a lot of fun to be had in this game. In that vein I try to insert a positive note on the DayZ forums, but mainly use it as a source of information, even though that means wading through a thick layer of ****.

The clan could try out some regular ArmaII multiplayer if we ever het enough of DayZ, we can always return once the main problems are fixed.

Yeah I hated that they resorted to cheating, hacking, and ghosting but honestly the was the most fun I have had in awhile lol. Fluid and I tried to take them out on the island since we were able to swim there unannounced without them noticing.

I switched servers at one point just to grab a weapon. Got myself a hatchet and just went actually farther away from where I was originally on our server so I wouldn't be ghosting and the same for Fluid.

He shot one once we logged back in and he saw them. Didn't kill him but knocked him down. I ran in with the hatchet and got another down but it weirdly didn't kill him. I only got taken down because of a light machine gun otherwise I would have kept running circles around them lol attacking when I could.

But its a game and stuff happens. I am gonna see if I can get nvgs again lol

@Jaime - It is fantastic to have an administrative team as capable and morally deep as the one we have.

It's also awesome that Bob and I found you guys. We have long been playing games with just the two of us and while we have a great deal of fun, we've never been able to latch on to a game for too long and I feel that the lack of community was in large a contributor.

I can't wait to see what we get into in the future (not just Day Z).

Update .5 pending...

Confirmed Changelog (WIP):

* [FIXED] Ammunition amounts not loaded in properly (Now records used ammunition correctly)
* [FIXED] Graphical glitches with barbed wire (Rebinarized file should no longer produce graphical artifacts)

In Process Changelog (WIP):

* [FIXED] Graphical glitches with dead bodies (Rebinarized file should no longer produce graphical artifacts)
* [FIXED] Converting between magazine types resets ammo count (Now only contains previous number of rounds)

Sounds good!

Anywho; think I'll try practicing on open fields first, think I'm setting my sights to high! (can't take off :indiff: )

On another note guys, I got my first murder. It was at NE airfield and the victim was AnnaKeller. I didn't even speak to her, just kos'd her due to the situation from earlier. She was pretty geared and I reaped the benefits of some NVG's, rangefinder, and coyote backpack.

It's unfortunate that we play on an uneven playing field since a lot of the Day Z community feels that they can only play the game by cheating. At the same time, I do have a sense of accomplishment that I'm able to obtain the same gear as the cheaters by playing honestly.

@ Walker - I have no problem pitching in some money for a dedicated server, just let me know.

@Dom - OMFG that video is hilarious. Reminds me of when we tried playing Silent Hill 4. Or all the times I played Doom 3... I'm gonna go sit and cry in the corner while I have flashbacks. THANKS A LOT DOM!!111

Yeah, so It totally sucks that we didn't get the chopper, but I got to drive the slowest vehicle in the game around 20 clicks. And had to stop and refuel multiple times. But it wasn't that bad, played music basically the entire trip home as I was also starting to get sleep deprived.

Other than that, I was surprised how long it took them to get that chopper airborne. Like, they just sat on that island for a while. If they did ghost it sucks we couldn't of found a lucky window to get in and take up a better position. Me and tastey tried. I emptied a clip of the makarov at one guy, and it just knocked him down. We were no match for the lmg, as I only had 1 clip.

Sure we can find it though. I dont have nvg's, so when daytime comes I'm gonna search a little bit. After I gear up a little bit. I lost everything going to that island, then brought the boat back dieing on some kind of cold sickness. Luckily Walker had a bike he was cruising around on and hooked me up with some fires.

Also, about the training sessions with the teleporting and stuff. I don't really agree with learning to deal with hackers by basically dealing with actual hacking. I just feel like we get so used to being in the woods, that we sort of get tunnel vision. We all just wanted to get the chopper fixed, and a dude with a ghillie basically ran up from behind and shot us in the backs. I mean, it is obvious they were ghosting, but you find a server with a dedicated clan, and you have the only heli spawn, you know they are going to come at some point and claim what is theirs.

I think if we just find a way to practice, and stay sharp on our skills, maybe playing death matches against each other, we can grow stronger than the ghosters and the hackers.

Yeah I think I will continue doing what I was doing before and just grabbing gear for everyone and bringing them to the camps or at least marking locations. I have a lot of fun finding other teams camps and vehicles lol.

I usually end up getting on after you guys have a fire fight as well so besides for when I 1st joined the clan with the main group I haven't seen much action. Though I am
happy I was able to hold off that area on my own against a team while I waited for beavis and newt and eventually walker to make their way back to the location. Even sniped a few guys and killed one with no skill what so ever on the rifle. See how many people I can gear up with nvgs next time I can play without a broken connection.

I will start playing other games I have more often as well and anyone is welcome to join in the games. Hopefully Beavis and I can finally get a game going of something lol bad luck so far. Downloading Amnesia again and prepared to get scared lol. I got that game like 2 years ago and played for 5 mins and walked away XD.

Good luck to anyone who plays today. I will be on tomorrow on and off. I will be able to restart servers today if needed just message me on steam if you need me. :)

lol got killed by a hacker... ran back to my gear was so psyched when it all was still there... So I forgot the logout rule, logged out the second I go my stuff and nows it's gone forever :P

Me Fliud newt and jaime found 2 atvs, 2 buses, a tractor, ural military, offroad truck, UAZ, blue van. all of which were in the debug plains

Damn great job guys! :) Hopefully I can get online tomorrow. Can one of you pm Walker, beavis, and myself the cords for them? I will jump on in the morning if my modem doesnt die on me and see If I can find any camps and watch out for the vehicles. All we need is one hacker and they are gone.

As we were waiting for fuel for the chopper, the vehicle carrying the fuel (GAZ I'm assuming), was taken after the two members in the transport were killed providing back up for an operative pinned down at NE Airfield.

I'm not sure of the specifics, just updating. Also on approach from the area, another operative was able to deliver a 4X4 pickup to NEST while managing to give the area a wide stance, avoiding any confrontation.

CLASSIFIED moved out to CLASSIFIED and has CLASSIFIED a CLASSIFIED.

It seems that the helicopter may be fully inoperable at this point. After repairing multiple items multiple times, the aircraft still maintains a high rate of fuel leakage. We were going to attempt to repair glass one by one, despite them already being in the green, however the glass was either on us at the island or in the GAZ that was usurped.

According to several posts in the DayZ forums, there are approximately 4-6 windscreen glass that need to be repaired and this has nothing to do with being in the green or not. Just like car windscreen glass (doesn't affect normal green/yellow/red items).

Also it has been noted that extra scrap metal may be required to ensure all hit points (i.e. missile) are repaired.

I think when we tried to repair the glass there was 8 repair glass options that where all green, all I can suggest if we intend to keep the huey is find enough glass and parts and just repair it all, weather it is green or not. I know that seems a bit waste full of supplies but if we do that then we find out if that fixes the leaky fuel issue or that it really is a bugged junk huey.

right now as it sits it's just a sitting duck and puts a target on us if any one comes looking, so what ever the leaders and group thinks is best.

I think it was a UAZ that got lost, the GAZ should be hidden at a camp.

As Tastey mentioned and I was thinking about it after I made this original post, in all honesty the huey is cool and a great tool to use if we can get it all in working order, but there are other things that concern me more like camps and other vehicles being locked down and secured and others.

The most important thing is making sure our locations are safe so I am all for fixing the heli then if that's the only way to get it moving and away from the location. If everyone agrees then start moving forward. My connection is better around this time so I will be up most of the night and morning seeing if I can get on in a bit and help out.

Great job finding that car park, Fluid! Did all of you take all the vehicles, or is there still something left to blow up? :D

Was a pretty weird gaming session yesterday, logged on to the server while it was night, Newt and Blazing were on as well. Blazing was about to die at the Elektro firestation so I jogged from Cherno to Elektro to guard his soon to be corpse. Walking around in Cherno with just a flashlight is spooky, broke my leg on something... Patched myself up and after some more running took overwatch on a hill west of the northern Elektro firestation.

By this time Newt and Blazing made it there as well. I spotted a guy with nvg's and camo camping on the roof next to the big smoke stack. After doing a quick mill dot estimate (re: putting a waypoint on his him) I shot the guy through the head. Loot time!

We then went to a daylight server only to end up being killed by a hacker. Blaze was unconcious and the hacker detonated a satchel right next to him, which was kinda cool.

Fast forward a lot of noobing around, me shooting and breaking Blaze's legs and ending up supporting Fluid with his Heist.

All in all, a good yet weird day!

How long does the fuel tank last with the leak, or can't it take off at all? Because if it can take off then you could leapfrog across the map, refueling along the way. It's a pain in the ass, but atleast it'll be away from the spawn point.

With a full tank of fuel you should still be able to get it across the map but you'll always want to have jerrycans on hand just in case. Technically once you start the engines up you are already burning fuel, the thing we don't want to do right now is put fuel in it and let it sit because it leaks fuel even while the engine is turned off.

Finally made it to nest. Dcing every 10 mins or so but got there in decent shape and basically back to how I was before just without nvgs. Not too shabby.

The only thing you need to sort out now, is your router problem. However I hope you can solve the problem very soon.
