Delay Again

Man, I have no words to say how much I'm dissapointed with this. But, I wonder if this date change isn't only for the Japanese release... The date didn't change on PS/US site (is it a reliable source?).

Maybe they changed the date on JP due to local shopping behavior like someone said before, the buy more on new year than on xmas.

I really still hope that the US release (even though I am in Brazil) is not deleayed. There's still a chance... :indiff:
 
Yea I was just about to say Speedracers's car, but anyway does this really mean that the game is being recalled for more work or does it mean that there are problems with the final process of getting the game into the hands of me before Chrismas.
 
Speak softly and carry a big stick; I'm going to ask PD softly to give me atleast the latest build and if they dont give me what I want, I got the big stick. You all know kaz, I believe delayed gt3 to add the 350 Z. What if they delayed gt4 for a car and lied about it :grumpy:
 
Well it's gone gold, so what does that mean. Surely they won't be making yet ANOTHER build to send off to the printers.

My guess is the delays have pushed the delivery date close to christmas, and the printers are already busy with big orders for DVD's. Remember that large scale printing like this is done by like only 5-10 companies in the whole of Europe, so in Japan they may be now held up by the printers.
Afterall, they will have told the printers they wanted work printing months ago, and the slot may take weeks, or even a month to print. PD can't excpect the printers to just sit and wait for PD's delays on the final print.
Also, the paper print and box stuff needs doing, and that may have been waiting to go to print until GT4 went gold, so again, delays there.

Ultimately, PD have fooked up big time. The Euro delay through translations is stupid, that kind of work should have been done ages ago.
They have no perception of a workflow, just looking at each thing that needs doing as they get to it.
A month ago they probably didn't know if they'd be gold or not, so didn't bother organising printers ahead of themselves.

Hehe, best to just forget about it and wait for the pre-order to pop through the letterbox!

Maybe the delay is because they realized they didnt put enough Beetles in it? :P


No but seriously my heart has stopped...I dont know how im typing this now...oop there it goes. Im going to die....uh.
 
Maybe PD/Sony figured with all the Halo 2 and Half-life 2 sales going on right now, the Christmas sales for GT4 would be diminished, so they'll just finish it with online as originally planned. ;)
 
Well I can only hope that this affects the JPN release only, perhaps in favor of the US or Chinese versions. But in all honesty, it looks very bad. It's the first time I didn't expect another delay ... (yeah, that sounds funny doesn't it? and sad at the same time)

A few days ago I ordered the PSP online. If it turns out I get that PSP first, that's going to feel very very weird.
 
Lets just face facts, we are all going to be here this time next year still moaning about GT4's release date being put back once again.

There are only three things in life that can be guaranteed, death, taxes and GT4 delays!
 
fvuck PD, fvuck Sony, fvuck December, fvuck this freaking day, fvuck exams, fvuck Christmas break and fvuck everything, life doesnt make any sense to me because of this day,I have 1 week dreaming with GT4 everytime I sleep, and know, this fvucking nightmare again, my hole month Christmas break is fvucked up now, hell, just thinking I will have to play NFSU2 because GT4 will not be in stores makes me wanna cry like a little fvucking kid.............
 
I'm gonna have to agree with Solidlifters on this one, Kaz said they would hope to have finished the game Dec. 14th but that :rolleyes: this wasn't going to be very likely, throw a dog a bone....

So after all the excitement in this thread and people venting.... What is the release date now in America so I can tell my boss I need to move my week of paid vacation days? *trying to stay calm, deep breaths, thinking of a happy place*

If it's a printing issue, or a business decision in terms of priority to the PSP, this should not affect the PAL release.

Even if it is just them tweaking certain aspects of the game this should not affect the translation a great deal, so hopefully we are still on target for our late release.
 
Sounds as though someone found a 'showstopper ' bug that slipped through playtesting that has to be fixed before release.

Sure the delay sucks, but if it is bug fixing, we'll all be glad they did delay and fix them. Imagine the screams and rage if, like what a lot of other publishers do these days, they just said ' forget about the bugs, just release the dam thing '.

Its amazing how far 5 minutes can make ones heart sink.
 
This cant be true. I could understand waiting until December but now until next year. We have already waited since the original date of January 2004. This is unbelieveable. Guess I will move my vacation days then for the 5th time now. I honestly cant believe this now. After this long I finally am really sad about this. Dang 2005. :guilty:
