Awesome! I'll give that a try.

EDIT: I can't even hit those guys.:boggled: Their level is ?? and they're immune to anything I do.

What level are you?

Just about to hit 14.

Yeah... stay away from them until you're at 17 or 18 or you'll be one-shotted every single time.

Unless you're just out of the blast radius in which it'll either just about kill you or scare the living crap out of you.

Ah, oops, sorry. Ok, well the two places I can think of on the Moon are... Oh, I have no idea how to describe them. There's one place that spawns two knights, you get to it by going up the slope from where you spawn, cross under the big bridge thing and go through the dome thing on the opposite side of the starting area from where you spawn (there are a few enemies around, usually a stealth vandal, normal vandal, a few dregs and a shank), out the other side of the dome and down into the small valley thing where there's an entrance into the Hive's place. The two knights appear outside of that area, but they're tricky to get to respawn and sometimes never do.

The other place I can think of is if you go from the start, head up the slope, over to the left and leave the area to go to the next one. Here you'll have not much to your left while the rest of the area arcs around to the right with a big circular pit (that you'll very obviously die if you fall in) in front of you when you enter the area. Go down to the small platform sort of inside the pit where four acolytes hang out, very often one of them will be a major, but it's not very common these days.

So maybe the best place to find them is the Moon mission The Shrine of Oryx, it takes a while to get to the right point but there's a major knight on a small bridge (with two acolytes and a lot of dregs), then in the next room there's a major wizard (and a couple of knights and a lot of acolytes). Sadly that room used to be packed with majors - two knights and about five acolytes - but they nerfed it. I think if you kill the knight, then the wizard and then yourself you should respawn before where you killed the knight so you should be able to repeat it. I'm not sure if they'll be majors if you play on easy, you might need the heroic modifier to get them to appear.

I found the spawn point for the two Hallowed Knights on the moon and killed them in between doing a different bounty. It seemed reliable enough, every time I went back a new pair had spawned.

Completed the VoG last night, I'll be honest I had no idea what I was doing but the other guys I was with kinda just did what needed to be done haha

That shield thing looked pretty cool.

Make sure you have plenty of ammo packs!

Got Legendary Prime Zealot Gloves / Legendary Found Verdict Shotgun

Then in the 2 chests after got 2 Acendant Shards and The Shattered Vault Cloak :)

EDIT: Guess I haven't done it!, only done part of it as the bit in tried today was different.

Finding it slow going at the moment with Vanguard rank up. Are the motes of light useful for anything apart from rubbish from the speaker.

Hello, Level 29. :D

Finding it slow going at the moment with Vanguard rank up. Are the motes of light useful for anything apart from rubbish from the speaker.

Exotic engrams.

Sweet, I'm currently sitting on 9 of them.

@Terronium-12 who sells the engrams? Speaker?

Overall great weekend with Destiny. Managed to get myself from 25 7/8 to 27 1/8 after buying the Sunbreaker gauntlets from Xur. Then spent a couple hours leveling them up along with some of the queens gear I was wearing. I also have about 9 completed queen orders but I think that expires today. Oh and I bought 11 fusion rifles just in case I get that exotic fusion rifle bounty.

Then....

Attempted the Vault of Glass raid over the weekend. We all ranged between level 27-28. I was the lowest of the group. All I can say is holy crap wow. For those that have not entered this, or have not seen any videos, it is nothing that you will expect at all. The first part with the 3 circles is simply a light warm up of what is to come. Its honestly nothing at all compared to the other sections. And yes communication is a MUST. Some of it is a complication of mazes along with a lot of trial and error and the group must stay together.

After about 3-4 hours we made it to the final 6 of 6 section to the final boss and just dang. What you have to do there is simply overwhelming even with a fully communicating group. At this point a majority of our group was getting tired, some had to leave, and it just wasn't happening. But dang this raid is nothing I EVER visualized at all. Some of it is the most complicated process I have ever seen in gaming especially with 6 players. I am still trying to take in and comprehend everything that happened. Very happy we got as far as we did. I ended up getting a pretty good legendary shotgun but other than that, mainly ascendant energy and a few ascendant shards. I need a lot more ascendant shards before I can level my gear up any further.

Please someone tell me this isn't the end of the main story.

(I've been given the stranger's rifle)

Seriously that's it?
The story sucked. The game gets much better once you beat the story and start the high level strikes raid. The end game and crucible has been much better for me than the story. I though couldn't care less about the story. In the 35 or so years I've played games there has only been a few that has a story I remembered anything about.

I feel the same way you do about it. They've done a great job making you work together. I've never played a game that relies on teamwork like the VOG. I kind of see why they haven't added matchmaking. Its so team oriented and long that matchmaking would make it really hard to not get put with at least one person who quits or doesn't know how to worth together or is just in there to screw with people.

One thing that's drove me crazy about destiny is the reviews. I haven't seen one review that really mentions the raid or the nightfall missions. Those are what makes destiny better than any other coop shooter I've ever played. Or like with the IGN review he said he played it mostly alone. I really feel like destiny is taking a beating in the reviews it doesn't deserve. You shouldn't be reviewing it if your playing alone or haven't beaten the nightfall and raid.

All the reviews say they didn't do anything better than other games. Everything is just mediocre but the raid is far from that. The way they make your whole team work and talk is something I've never seen a shooter do before.

And for everyone complaining about how the engram's worked before. Since the patch I've gotten 1 purple orb. That's with at least 20 hours of play. Probably more like 30 hours. They may all turn purple now and blue but you never get them. I'm not even getting them anymore when the cryptarch upgrades. They're always just blue now. I thought it was hard to get purple great before, now it's crazy hard.

haven't posted in here in a while, here's my recap though.

Level 25.
Only 2 Legendary peices, Cryptic Dragon Scout Rifle and Vanth Orcus 0A0X Chest Armor.
And I just got a badass Bloodpact Shader.

And that's it.

I'm here just to make you guys look cool basically.

Guys? I got trapped in the Vault of Glass and I can't get out.
During free roam? Had this happen to me also after I found a random raid group opening the door and decided to help them. They gave me a thankful wave afterwards and zoomed off inside. I foolishly followed before I found a large stone barrier blocking my way. Then I heard the "clunk clunk clunk" of the doors shutting :(

. In retrospect its funny. 2 members of my fire team went in so I tried to kill myself to somehow get spawned outside of it but my team member decided to keep reviving me.

Wow, I've been struggling to get legendary weapons for so long...
And in 3 days I finally got 3 of them.
An auto rifle saturday with a legendary engram when I levelled with the Cryptarch. A legendary rocket launcher sunday after I picked a legendary engram in a mission and decoded it with the Cryptarch. And a legendary fusion rifle yesterday in an engram when I levelled with the Cryptarch.

I think they really patched the Cryptarch. After so many legendary engrams that turned blue or even green, the last 3 ones went good...

Level 27+ now. I have my Exotic helmet fully upgraded, but I need to upgrade the rest of my legendary armor pieces and my weapons. Then I'll go and give a try to the Vault of Glass for my final step.

I also received an Exotic bounty contract. I think it's for the Bad Juju rifle. My question to you guys: Is that rifle worth the pain?
I wonder if I shouldn't have chosen another bounty...

With the exotic bounties, you might as well do them as you get them. Then further down the line, you can pick and choose between exotic weapons depending on the mission. I'm currently doing the Bad Juju and super good advice weapon bounties.

It has been fixed since the last update, and was noted in their patch notes. Legendary Engrams will only give you Legendary items and up. Rare engrams will give you rare items and up.

I agree with everything you said. Basically anything before the VOG is just prep work to gain experience and better weapons. The VOG is obviously what Destiny had as their main focus for the game. You really have not seen anything at all until you get toward the end of this raid. No other game I have ever played requires 6 players to communicate and work together like the VOG. If you don't work together or don't communicate, you simply wont make it all the way to the end to the 6th and final section. In terms of comparisons when it comes to co-op communication, portal 2 co-op comes to mind. But now imagine 6 total players. I recommend being at least level 27 before trying to make it to the end.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Decided to try the Nightfall strike for the first time this week which happened to be the Mars strike. I am a level 27 with two friends that were 28. We almost made it. First few bosses took a little bit of work but not bad with some good snipers and well placed grenades. Tank was VERY easy and always is very easy. Wiped that out in a few minutes. After that we knocked the final boss down to about half health within a few minutes. Then we just had a run of bad luck, got pinned in a corner, and didnt make it.

Once I get some better weapons this will be MUCH easier. I am still stuck with primary weapons from 3 weeks ago. Hoping to resolve that by the weekend because last night I received my very first Exotic bounty for a pulse rifle Toland’s Legacy Bad Juju??? So this week I need to complete 25 strikes, obtain 10,000 points in crucible, and buy a weapon part from Xur. I should hopefully be at least level 28 after this weekend and have a really good exotic primary weapon. :)

Isn't the nightfall strike of Tauric on Mars?

This weeks is the Archon Priest, and you can apparently even solo it and get a nice hiding spot during the boss.

Doubt I can solo it with only one Legendary Scout Rifle though.

Isn't the nightfall strike of Tauric on Mars? There's a huge exploit I found in the boss room where you technically cannot be fired upon.
Well we found a stairway we can sit under that he cant hit us. The problem we ran into is at some point the boss walked to the other end, and would not come back. W

Oh did it change today? Because yesterday it was Valus Ta'aurc. This should be much easier.

As long as one person is moving he cannot hit you. Nor can any other enemy (well, hit the guy who's hiding). I found it accidentally when I fell in and couldn't figure out how to get out. Mostly use it for cover when he's near that area as it's prime sniper location.

The nightfall one is The Preist.

Normally I'd be down for trying it solo, but the fact that enemies do 3x the damage to you... Yeah...

I tried doing the academy story on solo last night. For some reason though it gets too hairy for me at the end and I keep dying. 3x melee damage and stealth vandals? Yeah that's going to wipe me out fast.
