Elephant in the room, what if you're not inside the compound and you're outside somewhere . Seeing as outbreak can and is often locked into the other areas as well. Not that I personally care as I think Outbreak is pretty boring and don't plan to ever play it again now I have platinum.

There's plenty of hiding places outside.

Well yes, I'm not an idiot , my point is AOS has been concentrating his videos on the inside so for those who are looking to bust hiding spots or find more themselves will be looking for clever ones outside to. That's all I'm getting at, I feel he'll help himself to help others by spreading away from inside.

Well, lately I've been trying to use the ramps in the depot to jump up onto the higher containers, if that helps. It's only working in the sense that it's been a compelte failure so far.

Sometimes hiding in plain sight is a good tactic, finding containers and such with 1 way up so they have to drive around to the way up, as they do that you drive away casually. I don't tend to hide on the occasions I have played Outbreak myself and never plan to particularly, I just opt to use speed and control of which I have enough to be able to outrun most (not all of course I don't think I'm amazing) players.

As I say I'm not looking for any help myself though, but for others generally finding anywhere which leaves you in a position where the infected have to waste time driving around to get to you whilst you have all the time in the world to make a break.

The problem with hiding in plain sight is a co-ordinated enemy. Parking it on top of the containers in the Parking Lot might give you a great field of view and limits your opponents to coming at you from one direction (unless they have mastered doing a handbrake turn at the top of the ramp onto the containers), but when more than one person is infected, one driver will park at the bottom of the container you're looking to drop off and wait for another infected car to come up beind you. Then you're fishbait.

It's why hiding behind the access ramp onto the scaffolding hard up against the Power Station is still the best place to hide in Outbreak in the Parking Lot. In every game I've played, I'm still the only person who goes there.

Co-ordinated enemy? On PS3? Not likely  but I never go in a place where I have to drop down in one direction, if you can drop down from your spot in any direction then they need more then one person waiting for you to drop, one spot by the docks for example gives you plenty of options of where to drop down and awkward ways for them to get to you.

Depends if you run into a gaming clan. But I've seen people do it on PC without any apparent communication. One person waits at the bottom because they know you have to come down sooner or later.

And which spot would that be in the docks? Is it the roof of the warehouse that you have to jump up onto? Or is it over on the containers near the train line where there's one ramp and two jumps to access it?

1 ramp 2 jumps I think, you can sit on top and based on the direction they choose to try to access you, you can then easily pick a direction to leave. I use it as a cool down after losing a tail rather then a hiding spot of sorts, charging up the ramp and just sitting on top and taking a look around for a little bit until someone targets you.

Hiding to me is like people who camp on FPS games, it's a legitimate tactic and I don't hate people who do it but it takes away the joy of the game is to many people do it.

A lot of people know that spot i pointed out, just a lot of people don't know how to reach it.

To add onto jumping over the girder fence and sitting on the invisible barrier, it's actually a lot more narrow than I thought: you have to land near the wall so that you won't fall off. The width is like a car's length.

About the containers, I too have tried stuff, but had no luck.

And don't underestimate coordination, Dragonsitc, i nailed a bunch of guys for sitting on containers yesterday. I was sittin at the bottom while the two guys were being forced off with another zombie. It was hilarious because they had no choice but to drive into me at that point

Okay, my favourite hiding place is inside the trailer hard up against the Power Station; you need to use a ramp to alunch yoruself into it. However, I was just playing and there was a guy on the councourse opposite the trailer (ie instead of driving to the ramp and jumping into it, you go in the opposite direction). My question is this: how do you get up there?

More reason why I don't just try and hide for the entire game, you stay on the move and ready to move in any number of directions and it makes you much more difficult to be closed down quickly, this wouldn't work in larger games on small areas but that rarely happens. I'm aware when players do work together it's obviously effective, and the small thing I described was a potential tactic which can only be applied in certain ways and times. Similarly I'm not saying go up and there and wait a whole game, as soon as someone spots you and starts making moves you get going rather then wait for the infected to build. I'm not suggesting it as a game plan, but something you can do just to run the clock down slightly.

I can think of nothing more boring then just jumping on to a little ledge and sitting there for the whole game. On that note as regards flat out running away, avoid big changes down in speed to make turns (kinda of derpy derp but still) pick smooth routes where you can use turns to gradually reduce your speed before diving into a technical section then rebuilding your speed whilst the chaser tries to follow. Avoid at all costs going immediately from high speed to having to stop to do a quick 180 around an object or similar until you have space. As I believe interludes mentioned, small container gaps taken at speed are often enough to ruin plenty of people, as does slowing down before a jump so you don't fly far if you're subtle enough about it. I'd imagine most people on here are quicker and better drivers then alot of the public you find playing, utilise your extra speed and precision if you have it. I've had games on the car park with 3-4 infected all chasing me and you can just out-do them by cycling unpredictably around the flats with no trickery if you can drive whilst looking around ok.

Driving around makes it difficult for me, because I don't know if I'm being tailed, if I'm being targeted for a T-Bone, etc. I'd have to keep checking every where, but doing that while driving is difficult as you got to keep your eye in front of you as well.

My one tactic (I haven't been successful with still), was finding the zombie and following it... As long as I'm following it, I have my eye on them. If I get their attention and they start chasing me. I only have to watch out for that one person. So long as I can keep their attention, there will remain only one zombie which means no surprise attacks or ambushes, which are the hardest to avoid for me for reasons mentioned earlier.

How do you guys upload videos longer than 30 seconds? Do you guys actually use a capture card or the DiRT3 YouTube upload feature? :odd:

I just got DiRT3 today and here's what I've come up with so far. :)
