Do you think PD listens to YOU?

^^ Oh ok. Didn't know it was a missing feature in GT4.
Wait - maybe I was wrong: I'm 100% sure that in GT4 there were saves in championship races (you could save after each race), but not actually during races - at least in the Japanese version I have (yet, that's still something I don't remember having seen in GT5).

In GT4's enduro's you could just hand it over to your B-Spec drivers, but there was no mid race save option.

Well, the driving switching option for example wasn't in the Japanese version.

We all know they view the site, they have said that before in interviews. End of story. <removed> at listening to us, and adding what would actually make this a better game. Not just adding more skylines. Like how hard would it be to make all the wheels available to all the cars. huh? Stupid PD, If GT6 isnt better im done with the series, its just been disappointments again and again

or like Chang said above

ch3ng
Lets see...

- "Upgrade Standards to Premium" / They done 1 Car for Money in a dlc

- " More Race Events" / Nope
- " More Race Modification Options" / Nope
- " Fast-Forward B-Spec" / Nope
- "Drag Racing" / Nope
- " Paint Preview" / Nope
- Livery editor / Nope
- and about 1000 other wishes.

Conclusion: they dont care about Fan Feedback . Its sad

I don't think it's that they don't care about us. It's that they don't have the time to implement the ideas.

The answer is No,that why the Camaro LM and the ZR-1 RM still sound like a 4 cylinder and the Razo Nissan Silvia sounds like a V8

They dont have time because they only care about adding bs crap that no one cares about. When thousands of people want something added to a game, its probably a good idea to add it PD. HINT HINT

PD shouldnt even add anything unless its an idea from this forum, that way they cant mess it up.

I don't think its impossible for PD to listen here, and there is evidence to suggestion that they do (Spa, Golf R for me, Lamborghini Aventador, possibly a few others), but I just wish there was evidence of it, say, an official representative that would do official polls, here, on GTP maybe 'would you prefer the new BMW M5 or the Ferrari FF' or things of that nature, then depending on what the users thought, they would select A or B and logically speaking, they would actually sell more DLC as well (if GTP is an accuracte representation of the population of users who play GT5 and buy DLC).

The OPs post has a point, its blantently clear that this is 'the' forum for all things Gran Turismo, and especially GT5, so if they were going to get it from anywhere externally, it should (would) be here, but there isn't enough evidence imo.

User feedback is THE BEST WAY to improve a game, why are they messing around updating stupid crap. Give us what WE want, and your game will only improve. Its a fool proof concept PD.

They're fixing the game's mistakes. Fix before add or more problems will come by.

On topic, I do think they look around here. Wouldn't you visit the biggest site based on your own creation?

It is known they consult the internet for certain aspects of developing GT's gameplay.
For their sound samples they consulted this site frequently:

http://www.vacuumfinder.com/

And on a serious note, they would be ignorant and retarded to ignore a bible of customer feedback as is present here for them (are they?)

^ This

However, I think why people ask this question has more to do with the lack of what many say here but doesn't end up in the game. I hope that GT6 is more of listening to fans and on this site and others like it, and less of PD wanting to keep up with the Jones's (other racing games).

A game that took 87 years to develop shouldnt have so many bugs and problems in the first place, its not like its their first game. Its been 14 years since GT1 when GT5 was released. Kaz just needs to fix his focus.

He pushed the game to the PS3's limits, there are going to be problems, like any other game.

Not just hardware limits, contents within the game, IE, vehicle sounds is subpar, why so many standard models? Why so many of the same car again? So you can say ohhhhhhh GT5 will have 1000+ cars, woohooo. I dont need 1997-2002 skylines just because you can, its a stupid way to market more vehicles in the game. In bspec you cant fast forward, why not? i dont wanna sit there for 24 hours guy. Id be doing it aspec if i wanted that.

Quite true, however some of the compromises made in doing so are not to everyone's taste and not everything lies at the door of pushing the PS3's limits.

While you do raise some points that illustrate the issues that don't relate to the PS3 hardware you could try a little less of an inflammatory manner of doing so.

This however is getting the thread off topic.

Hey Scaff do you guys have any idea how much (if at all) PD views this place or is that just me being a bit too optimistic?

All we know for sure is that PD have and we assume do continue to follow the site, and that Kaz is aware of us.

How much influence we have is unknown, personally I would be surprised if we don't at the least influence future developments but would not expect us to shape them in any firm manner.

I see PD and Kaz are too insular for that to happen, which has always been the double-edged sword with GT, one man's vision doesn't always match what fans of the series want.

Im not trying to inflammatory, but this topic has been covered before, and the game is a dissapointment. Whether a small or large, its far from perfect no matter who you are.

PDs focus is to much on "perfection". yet his idea of perfect isnt what the average gamer wants. They do need to implement things that will make the game more enjoyable to all of us. And these things havent all been adressed, and i feel like its taking PD to long to implement some of the simpler things the majority of people here have asked for.

I put uncertain, as it may just be a coincedence that many of the things suggested here have been put into place in GT5, however it is a very real possibility.

I think "keeping up with the Jones's" covers a majority (not all of course) of what the fans want. Now I have never played FM4 but I do lurk on ForzaPlanet. It seems if PD were to offer content similiar to that available in FM4, we would see a lot less wish list threads here.

Go for a quick lurk, do you notice a difference in atmosphere and dialogue compared to here in GTP? (Given the 16 months of GT5 versus the 6? of FM4).

From staff interviews with representatives from PD and T10 we know they view GT Planet and Forza Planet.

Certainly we have had community staff from companies post both here and at Forza Planet, however that doesn't (to our knowledge) include PD.

However as has been said a big difference exists between viewing a site, gathering information from it and then putting that into place.

To action every tiny request made here alone would be impossible, so I would suggest its more likely that feedback gained from GT Planet and Forza Planet helps to shape future versions rather than dictating what content and features they will contain.

I don't understand how this isn't good enough.

Good enough for me.

GT5 is far from a disappointment. The increase in resolution and the amount of cars on track is incredible. Even more so since the 2.0 patch came out. The regular A Spec events could have been better, but that's about it. If you are able to race the seasonal events, it more than evens out.

Being able to race online puts it above and beyond any other GT that came before it.

Of course PD comes here, and of course any other developer who want's to cash in on GT5's 7 million customers does as well.

GTP: In closing, is there anything you would like to say to the GTPlanet community?

KY: The feedback we receive from our users – the positive and the constructive feedback – really provides energy for our company and really motivates us to do more. I think if we can keep up that relationship with the community, that would be great! Lastly, thank you all for your support!

from when Jordan interviewed kazunori. pretty self explanatory.

Although PD is aware of our (GTP) presence, I feel that they are only adding the things that line up with what they have planned, and that just happen to be what fans want.

Basically, they have a list like this:
[The following is hypothetical, and is meant as an example]

To Do:
Compose DLC
Maintain Servers
Improve GT5
Work on GT6

Fans Want:
DLC
Improved Online Gaming Connectivity
Fix all "Break Out" glitches
A new, finished game (GT6)

They may have some things that satisfy user demands, but they do not aim to actually satisfy the users.

When i have to pick a car with less power (considerably) or worse tires than the AI just to keep the race close, thats pretty sad. The graphics improvement comes with the new hardware really, the kinda go hand in hand.

Ive done some seasonal events which are fine, but online its a drag, not enough lobbies are serious racers and to many just dont interest me (nascar ie). And it seems like thats the majority of people on here. The 2.0 Patch was a good upgrade, but the list of little things is what gets me, there shouldnt be little stupid quirks like that. Like putting wheels on standard cars, or the tire physics before the update. The sounds still kills me, it could be so much more, i dont know how they keep botching the sounds.

I find myself picking up my 360 controller more often to pop in forza 4. The A spec really does it for me though, the fact that Forza has a PP cap is great, kinda like GT2 had a horsepower cap, those things add to the challenge of A spec, which honestly is like 85% of the game to most of us.

P.S. saving during endurance races was another one, they had to have thought of the fact that not everyone can sit in front of the TV for 24 hours straight, people have jobs and families, and no one wants to leave their PS3 paused for days on end.

He pushed the game to the PS3's limits, there are going to be problems, like any other game.

The problem is that they prioritized the wrong things that eventually took the game to the PS3 limits. Example would be B-Spec, 3D support, 60fps, course maker, the many repeated cars and other things that could have been left behind or at least toned down to give space for other things that would have made the game much more appealing. The game doesn't need better graphics or more cars.

I love Gran Turismo 5, and I see myself playing it until GT6 arrives, but I can't help to feel that there is "something" that keeps it from being the game that it was suppose to be.

The problem is that they prioritized the wrong things that eventually took the game to the PS3 limits ... 3D support ...
3D Support - I'm guessing this is pressure from Sony and the media because GT5 was the PS3's flagship title, so it only makes sense that GT5 can utilize every feature that comes with the PS3. However, I bet than less than a tenth of all GT5 users use the 3D capabilities of GT5.
