Do you think PD listens to YOU?

I believe the poll selections would have been better as:

Most of the time
Sometimes
Maybe
Rarely
Never

The history of the feedback section does appear to substantiate Jordan's post.

IMO, GT6 will be the ultimate proving ground from which to answer this poll.

Just in case PD is listening, they need look no further than GT4, for a solid foundation on which to build GT6.

83% of all gtplanet Wishes are and were already in the Forza Franchise.

If we keep at it , we will get perfect gran turismo game named Forza :) I remember that there was one guy from t10 saying hello around F4 launch.

Lets see...

- "Upgrade Standards to Premium" / They done 1 Car for Money in a dlc

- " More Race Events" / Nope
- " More Race Modification Options" / Nope
- " Fast-Forward B-Spec" / Nope
- "Drag Racing" / Nope
- " Paint Preview" / Nope
- Livery editor / Nope
- and about 1000 other wishes.

Conclusion: they dont care about Fan Feedback . Its sad :(

I'm glad they haven't done a lot of that gimmicky crap on the list. Most of all the livery editor. The last thing I want to do is turn on my beloved GT, only to see a bunch of childish and asinine faces/cartoons/words slapped on other's cars.

Drag Racing? No thanks. And you can already see the paint preview. There's new race events all the time... I even think there's this thing called GT ACADEMY. Fast Forward B - Spec? What's the point lol. So yeah I'm glad they haven't adopted that stuff.

Have you considered the positives of a livery editor? Most people want it so they can make their cars look like race cars or make replicas.

And you can already make some atrocious cars in GT5 with the right color combinations. The fact that there's chrome paint doesn't help either. Seriously, you can find ugly cars easily online.

Yeah but that's why there are RM's. I guess if there were strict guidelines in force in making these cars look like race cars then ok, but I guarantee that will be complained about as well. I would rather look at Chrome, Matte, Neon paints any day than Forza style liveries which just cheapen the entire ip in my very humble opinion.

You get extra points for this because you were pretentious enough to say "My beloved GT." Otherwise, though, this is your typical tired and uninformed rant about why standard features of other games shouldn't make their way to the GT series (even though Kaz says he wants it).

Drag Racing? No thanks.
Hell of an argument why the series shouldn't have it, right there.

And you can already see the paint preview.
Pretty sure he means one that isn't worthless. You know, one that would actually preview it on the car.

There's new race events all the time... I even think there's this thing called GT ACADEMY.
You mean those chase-the-rabbit events that do nothing to address one of GT5's main faults and that PD haven't put any effort into for months (since they started the "400, 500, 650" stuff); and what is basically a series of time trial events whose only real relation to GT5 proper at this point is a few cars that we will be given if we do them all?

Fast Forward B - Spec? What's the point lol.
It would, by definition, make them less of a waste of time.

tl;dr:

So yeah I'm glad they haven't adopted that stuff.
Not sure of serious, or being satirical.

this is enough info for you, yes?

:D ^^^

People have their opinions, and I agree with Maddens Raiders.

Some of the updates to GT5 suggest that they're at least somewhat aware of user feedback. However, I doubt that they're anywhere near as concerned about what we have to say as they should be. All those complaints and criticisms from the "trolls" are what they really need to be taking notes on, and I doubt that they really have. If we're looking for slight tweaks to make the game a bit smoother (like the menus) or if they're wondering what track we might most want to see as DLC, they're probably looking for user feedback, but when it comes to adding features that makes it more than just cars and tracks (the minimum requirements for a racing game), I don't think they're all that interested.

GTP: In closing, is there anything you would like to say to the GTPlanet community?

KY: The feedback we receive from our users – the positive and the constructive feedback – really provides energy for our company and really motivates us to do more. I think if we can keep up that relationship with the community, that would be great! Lastly, thank you all for your support!
Yuuup

It's a shame they don't actually keep a relationship with the community. Them reading the website without us knowing and telling us in an interview isn't keeping a relationship.

That's why we should have one of them make a account in GTP and create threads of their own to keep in contact with us.

I don't even expect that, all I want is for them to update a blog of some sort like most studios do these days. Doesn't have to daily or even weekly, just something fairly regular.

You'll notice there are official Sony forums. If any member of PD were going to start creating threads like that, it'd be a safe bet they'd be there, as one can't imagine the parent company would be too pleased otherwise (even though we are the web's biggest GT source).

Nevermind the fact that if a PD employee did publicly announce an account here, you know they'd be harassed by members for all sorts of demands. Sort of like how Kaz' twitter already is...

Which is exactly why a blog works. They could just post it as a diary of sorts, tell us what they're doing and what is coming up. You know, just like that other game does. That other game also has official forums, where devs and even Dan himself occasionally post. Again I'm not expecting that from PD for obvious reasons, but keeping us in the loop in some way should be a priority, in 2012.

Actually you're wrong about the B-Spec and somewhat of the drag race portion. GT4 had b-spec fast forward and many used said feature to get past Endurance races they may have not had all the time for.

GT4 also had the vegas drag strip, though you couldn't drag race a person it was a massive step toward it. There is a massive community here on GTP and an even bigger one on GT5 online in general, that drag race and would most likely pay for a DLC drag strip.

A little avatar car doesn't do justice, and many car games do an actual paint preview before you make the choice. Also Kaz has said that some of these he does want for GT's future. Yet I'm sure you'll jump on the bandwagon then instead of pioneering for such change.

Oh and livery editor is crappy how exactly please explain. Making a cookie cutter vague argument doesn't help anything. Unless you're just saying stuff because you can't support your opinion?

True. It'd be incredibly cool if PD toyed with the idea of "Game With Devs" nights, for example, with employees opening up rooms online for us common folk to race against them, and maybe even rewarding some people with early-access DLC codes (er, if there is more :p ). But the language barrier would probably be a bit of an issue compared to a US-based company. Sure, Kaz knows English well, but I'm not sure of the rest of the team.

I agree, keeping us in the loop in regards to the development should be a priority, but in PD's defence, that is a relatively new concept. Kaz' Twitter is a sign that they're getting the idea, though like you said, a blog might be better suited to these purposes.

I agree with you. Drag Racing is Part of the Racing and i dont See a reason to not integrate it.

Indeed. I mean a preview on the Car before you buy it the colour. Or put it on the Car. I means that is a Standard in Games. And GT dont have it.

Why PD why?

I also agree here. I want more offline Events and something like a "Rivale Mode" with leaderboards and so on.
I would like to See a DLC Integration in A/B Spec. I want to Race SPA in a Spec. People who didn't buy SPA could Race on a placeholder Track.

I kept thinking about that too, and lets just say I totally agree with you on that. 👍

That would be nice to have, I'll like that for sure. Now if we could let Kaz know about that. :sly:

You know, games like GT2 and GT3 have cars that were cut from the game due to licensing issues and i wonder if Kaz or PD have any clue that we have hacked into the games and obtained these cars that weren't supposed to exist?

Translator-san knows he's referred to as that. I assume they know that people found the "hidden" cars.

I doubt it, if they do then they obviously don't act on their findings :(

Gran Turismo 5 would be very different if GTP feedback played a part in its' development.

Well we asked for level 0 tickets 15th May.
They had plenty of chances to supply before the Leaf seasonal or maybe they had not thought anybody would want a level 0 ticket but the Marketplace is full of requests for it.

Here is where we asked https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=253370

Seasonal forum

Just a thought!

I think they do, but you just can't tell. People been asking for certain tracks and cars for awhile now. While they gave us some tracks it's not the ones that's been asked for.

Well not sure if they do or not, if he did something would have been done and chances are he may know but don't care, unless companies like Mercedes Benz, Porsche, Shelby or Lamborghini find out about it, then he's in trouble!

We couldn't use cars on the Kart Space DLC. That was addressed within days.
We couldn't use DLC on every PSN account. That was addressed within days.
We needed a test track. That was addressed within a year and some months! lol

Sounds (wind noise! ;)) have been greatly improved.
A number of Premium and Standard cars have been improved or fixed over the course of all the updates.

Navigating through menus is a lot quicker now. I saw a lot of complaining at the start of GT5 about that and almost never anymore.
Tracks load up for us first, then the information for the cars load up so we can get a head start on tuning or changing settings.

User Interface/HUD/Race display - option to take it off

New Intro instead of My Chemical Romance's.

Headlights lighting, or lighting in general, have been improved for better visibility.

If you think about it, that's like saying they're ignoring us on the request of Porsche. They either can or can't give us certain things. For years and years now, Porsche has been unattainable. For years now, Spa and Bathurst weren't available for us to race on. Pretty sure Kaz would have wanted all those in GT by now.

Great list. All in all, I'm very satisfied with PD's response to many issues. I have a few from time to time, and improvements I'd like to see made, but overall I'm very happy with my purchase.

And there's still more to come! 👍
