Tonight was episode 2 of AEW Dark and it features my least favorite match type, the unsanctioned match. It's bad enough when WWE does it, but when you're building a promotion around wins and losses mattering it seems insanely stupid to just decide certain matches don't actually count. It's especially concerning that there's already been 2 in AEW's short history.

Anyways, don't let that scare you away from watching as it's still a good match.

This Rusev and Lashley thing is getting weird. I don't know what Vince was thinking.

Also, I'm starting to get into AEW as well. I watched a small bit before the show was over with Rhodes's group and Jericho's group going at it. Probably need to binge a bit so I catch up with everything going on.

Cesaro and Luke Harper have been drafted to Smackdown, Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross have been redrafted to Smackdown as one pick after being drafted to Raw separately, that was a very strange move!

    That time of the year:

New Japan Pro Wrestling presents Wrestle Kingdom 14
January 4th & 5th from the Tokyo Dome

Major focal point of the show will be the last matches in the long career of Jushin Thunder Liger, who (fun fact) was a near-8 year veteran when he worked the first televised match of the very first January 4th Tokyo Dome show back in 1992.

    CARD TO DATE:
    Night 1 (1/4/2020)

    IWGP Heavyweight Championship
    Kazuchika Okada (c) (5th reign, 4th defense) v.s Kota Ibushi (2019 G1 Climax winner)
    Eight-man tag team match
Jyushin Thunder Liger, Tatsumi Fujinami, The Great Sasuke and Tiger Mask (with El Samurai) vs. Naoki Sano, Shinjiro Otani, Tatsuhito Takaiwa and Ryusuke Taguchi (with Kuniaki Kobayashi)

Only confirmed match for Night 2 is Liger's farewell match.

So, Seth won't be in Crown Jewel because he got DQ'd in a NO DQ match?

No, he wont be in the five-on-five match at Crown Jewel because he will be defending his title against Bray on the same show, as stated in above video.

Edit: NXT v AEW part three.

    AEW: 1.014 mill
    NXT: 712,000

Both figures down from last week.

Smackdown tonight. Bayley on Miz TV, a six pack challenge match where the winner will be number one contender for Bayley's title and in that match there is Carmella, Mandy, Sonya, Nikki Cross, Lacey Evans and Dana Brooke, and eight-man tag match with Heavy Machinery and New Day taking on Ziggler, Roode and the Revival.

And the show will start with and Intercontinental title match, Shinsuke Nakamura v Roman Reigns.

For a guy that's spent basically his whole life talking and writing for a living, words really just aren't his strong point.

The IC title match on Smackdown just turned into a promo for the 5-on-5 at Crown Jewel, King Corbin at involved in the match when he attacked Reigns with his septer and then he and Shinsuke attacked Reigns until Daniel Bryan came to his rescue, which lead to a tag team main event and Roman Reigns being announced new team captain of team Hogan.

Bayley said she turned because no cared for her or gave her hugs after matches, then she said 'LIFE SUCKS AND THEN YOU DIE!' Nikki Cross is the number one contender for her title after winning the six-pack challenge.

Also they added a stipulation to the Universal title match which is 'cant be stopped for any reason', so what if someone dies?! Plus Shorty Gable is now know as Shorty G.

I'm hyped for the NJPWoA...ehh, maybe I should start watching AEW before I go to hard on that, but the feuds building between the dojos now makes so much more sense. Hopefully the injuries are minor overall.

Aaannnndddddd apparently he got hurt now too. Is Hogan's team Jinxed?

With the Saudis almost buying into Kayfabe I'd be shocked if team Flair wins. Hogan was always the good guy and Flair the baddie in the era that has just reached Saudi Arabia.

Quite enjoyed Raw last night because it felt fresh and different, Drew McIntyre is back, Kevin Owens is back, Humberto Carillo actually had a match with Seth Rollins on his Raw debut which was a great match and Seth made him look like a million dollars.

The OC v Street Profits was the main event and Gallows and Anderson put them over so it was a great moment for Angelo and Montez to close out the show, Ric Flair on the Microphone was gold!

A couple of bad points, there wasn't a Women's match on the show at all (not even Becky!), Interesting segment between Rey and Shelton, Shelton made a good point that if he pushed Rey around he would get a title match which is fairly similar to how Velasquez got his title match, so Shelton started to shove Rey around and say 'that's a US title match' and ' that's an IC title match', then Velasquez came down to take out Shelton which didn't look convincing, but it does raise a point that Cain Velasquez has been gifted a WWE title match despite doing next to nothing.

Also one of the Singh brothers is the new 24/7 champion, but I don't know which one, it was fun with R-Truth saying 'there's two of them!!' in disbelief!

Yesterday the show was actually quite good... and enjoyable, and had great matches... and... and...

    FUN...

I'm convinced I (or maybe all of us) teleported to another reality because of how good it was. It wasn't perfect, but it was a serious improvement over the last few weeks.

I learned about it today, the fall was awful. I'm pretty sure his career is over, I just hope he can recover and have a normal life.

Two more matches made for Crown Jewel, there will be a 20 man battle royal and the winner will face AJ Styles for the US title on the same night.

WWE posted a little something earlier to do with the Strowman-Fury match, it was a video showing Fury training at the performance centre and Strowman came out of nowhere to hit Fury with a shoulder charge and Fury went down clutching his ankle, Strowman laughed and was escorted out of the building, lots of main-stream media have reported that Fury has 'injured' his ankle.

R-Truth will be getting his own WWE 24 special on the network. He has had a very interesting career so it should be interesting, hopefully they include footage from his TNA run similar to when they did the Hardy's.

Haven’t been watching WWE on tv any more since AEW if I want to see a highlight I’ll just look on YouTube for WWE.

I haven't even been watching highlights of the main roster. Since AEW this is what my weekly schedule looks like:

Monday: MLW Fusion (I recommend it if you like AEW)
    Tuesday: AEW Dark
    Wednesday: AEW Dynomite
    Thursday: NXT UK
Friday: NXT (They dont upload it to the network until late Thursday)

I'll still watch the main roster PPV's but tuning into the weekly shows isn't on my priority list at the moment.

I was doing that for awhile, but considering they recap everything several times during the PPV it just seems like a waste of time.

I did try watching the shows again after the Fox debut and draft but it's just too inconsistent to really get invested in.

So, here's some oddities I've remembered just now while thinking of silly stuff I'd try to do and poke fun at if I had my own promotion:

I like the fact that AEW doesn’t do that many promos or in ring talking segments unlike WWE.

While I do like that they don't fill their show with them, I can't help but feel a short 5-minute segment or two per show would work wonders considering how many people on the roster are not well known. They don't even need to be super flashy or anything, just have Ross do a sit-down interview like he did with Spears prior to All Out.

Such a thing would also help the pacing issues Dynamite has had by slowing the show down a little.

So the Jordan Myles thing has kicked off, WWE claimed that Myles signed off on that horrendous shirt but then Myles fired back in a tweet saying that he whole WWE system is a fraud and they have created an environment where you cant trust anyone and the fact that Hogan is back with the company after an apology after he was caught says a lot.

The fact that WWE OKed the shirt in the first place is pretty disgusting and how they can put that shirt out and think its fine is beyond me, Myles made some very good points, at the moment he is still with the company but I think its likely that will change now, its been reported that he hasn't been in the performance centre for a few weeks.

Raw last night, Rollins had a good match with Rowan which was falls count anywhere as a warm up for Thursday, Becky Lynch had a pretty good match with Kairi Sane which dragged a little and before the match Asuka sprayed Paige with the green mist, Ricochet sold an RKO epically!, Humberto Carillo had a good match with AJ Styles.

The main event was a brilliant beautiful car wreck, it was Kings Court with Jerry Lawlor, Rusev and Lana to add to the weird storyline, Lana said all Rusev was after was sex then Rusev said 'can you blame me!' to loud cheers from the crowd, the talking bit dragged on for little longer then Lashley came down and a brawl ensued to which Rusev had the upper hand initially but a low blow from Lashley and Rusev was floored with Lashley and Lana snogging each other over Rusev, that's how Raw went off air!

Looks like there will be a regular episode of Smackdown this week despite the fact that nearly the entire main roster will be in Saudi Arabia on Thursday, I have no idea how they will pull this off.
