Blackbird...the movie was terrible..

but I had a great time in the theatre making fun of how much garbage was portrayed on the big screen.

So once it comes out, me and my buddies will sit on the couch infront of the big screen and laugh at just how stupid it was all over again..

Just like FnF, House of the Dead, Land of the Dead, Skeeter, Killer Clowns From Outer Space, and the 50+ other stupid DVD's I own

May I suggest renting it when you and your friends are all together, since you'll only spend a fraction of the cost, you won't ever have to explain to anyone why you own it, and how many times are you going to be able to convince a group of your friends to sit and watch a movie you already think is a piece of crap?

By buying it, you'll be sending a message to the producers that the movie was enough of a hit to justify a sequel, which will probably be a straight-to-video release starring Triple H or Goldberg or something like that, and I think we can all agree that we don't need that.

Well other than the extremely nerdy point of view you just gave me, i'll respond.

Well considering the 6-8 dollar difference to have it 5 days..or to have it FOREVER..
I'll spend the extra 6-8 bucks..

I won't have to explain to anyone anything, anyone who is a big enough jackass to ask me "Why do you own Doom The Movie" deserves a slap in the face for not only being a dork, but being rude.

How many times can I convince a group of friends to sit around and laugh at a movie? Well considering we've seen cheezy movies like House of The Dead, Unleashed, The Transporter, atleast 5 times a piece, some more, some less, I'd say it wouldn't be that hard. We've watched Constantine 3 times....Still can't stand THAT movie..
Blade Trinity 6 times, that gets funnier and funnier. And the only thing funnier than the movie Chronicals of Riddick, was the crappy game.
Hell i've seen Godzilla Vs Mechagodzilla 50+ times, and the Duck Tales movie 100+ times....

By Buying the movie, i'm spending 12-16 dollars of my money to own a plastic CD with video on it...
12-16 dollars isn't going to make its way to the big wigs pockets and tell them they need to make more of these...
And I really wouldn't care IF they made more of these, i'm not losing any $$ on it, it doesn't affect my life directly or indirectly...I really really don't care..
And if a company making movies really "gets your goat"..Then "get a life"

Driftster
Then "get a life"
How can you say that to him, right after admitting to this  :

I'm just playin', Driftster. :D I think I've seen Commando and Swingers combined 100 times!

Commando w/ Arnold?

Chick shoots the rockets backwards....haha priceless..
Yes! It is one of my favorites. I loved that Caddy, too.

Driftster - No need for the rude response to Anderton's post. It was a simple suggestion and remarks like...

Even so, the fact you still watch these movies indicates a level of enjoyment and entertainment. ;)

There isnt nothing wrong with being entertained by a bad film.

House of the dead is possibly the worst film ever made, but it was still entertaining. Same with Resident Evil or Tomb Raider (hmmm all games?) not exactly good films, but blumin entertaining. Especialy Resident Evil, i love that.

Most of the old Arnie films are pretty bad, but they are usualy entertaining.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with bad films being entertaining. Although, I can't believe Blake forced me to watch Fast and the Furious the other night. :yuck:

OMG…force you I did not, you had nothing else! (I swear you had something better, like “Gone in Sixty Seconds” or “Gone in 60 Seconds” but I couldn’t see either)

What's a bit more misleading is that The Rock isn't even the main character. He just plays the Sergeant.

I readed on WWE.com that The Rock didnt wanted to be the main character. He was saying that Sergeant had many common things with Rock's personality so he asked for that part instead of been the main character. If you want to know more about the hole interview because he says alot more about it, I still got the link.

WWE.com: Now you're in a new movie, Doom. How did you end up landing the role of Sarge?
The Rock: Universal came to me with the script. No. 1 – I thought it was really ambitious, especially considering you’re making an adaptation of a hugely successful video game. So, when I read the script, I loved it. They actually gave it to me to read for the role of Reaper, who is the “hero” of the movie. But when I was reading it I called up Universal and said, “There’s actually an anti-hero here who I like a lot more and I want to play.

WWE.com: Why did you want to play the role of Sarge?
The Rock: There were a lot of reasons. Firstly, Sarge was the leader of the group and had to keep these guys together in the face of all the chaos that ensues. And not only that, but selfishly speaking, Sarge is the guy who gets to fire the BFG. And not only that, but for the big kid in me, running around chasing monsters, getting chased by monsters, using the BFG was just so much fun. Plus, I get to turn into (a monster) at the end of the movie, which was awesome.

Take a look at this web page and read some history about Doom 3 (the game). Compare the game's history and the movie's storyline and plot. It's quite interesting (and ****ed up).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doom_3#History

Very nice storyline. I also found a timeline for the Doom games on the Planet Doom forums that not only incorporates the storyline for Doom 3, but the other doom games as well. Gives a very nice explanation of everything as well.

WARNING: The following timeline does contain spoilers for all the doom games. So if you haven't played any of them are currently playing them, this will spoil the story for you. You have been warned.

Doom storyline

On topic, the only reason i enjoyed Doom is because I expected it to be alot crappier than it really was.

The movie was OK, it's about what I expected.

WARNING SEMI-SPOILER (I guess):

HELL>Virus ANYDAY!! !!!!!!!!!!!!

Does BFG stand for "Big ****ing GUn"?

Gold!

Nice one, VZ. 👍

As witty as that is, not everyone in my local cinema is as leet as me, so i fear the humour may be wasted on them.

Does anyone run amok with a chainsaw in this film?

hah..I did yell out the "Grimm is such a n00b" and pwned a couple times...

that did get a laugh..

not as many laughs as the gay comments durring Episode III....

In the ****ty First Person View part of the movie yes there is a chainsaw. But only one. I think the Pinky part was the only singly good part of that FPV scene. And that's not saying much.

My girlfriend and I finally went and saw it monday night. Looks like the majority of the replies are correct. This is not a great movie and I am a huge fan of the Doom games. I really like the Rock as an actor but this is the worst movie he has done so far. (I like all his other movies). I didnt mind the first person shooter view towards the end but the zombie standing there just laughing was completely stupid. The last half of the movie is when it finally gets better.
Dont waste $8.00 a person to see it in the theatre, just wait and rent it.
I thought this quote from the movie was funny along with that entire fight scene. "Seprify mother f@#$"
