I was jus curious to what type of drift/grip technique some people use, i personally use braking and heel-toe ((brake then gas at the same time))

you can't heel toe in gt3 since theres no clutch and braking while pushing on gas is a techique called Left foot braking.

Long-Drifter
yea, brakeing and e-braking, and heel-toe in a game doesn't have to include the clutch, you can sub it for the brake or e-brake

you obviouslly don't know what your talking about.

i mostly use Braking drift and power over.. with Feint mixed in here and there...

and i Conquor... long drifter u are confused about Toe and Heel

I pretty much do the same thing. I consider myself a beginner, and learned to have a heavy rear brake bias(S15, 3400S) to get the car into oversteer. I also have a few higher powered cars(Cobra R, Chaser, RGT, Vanquish) where I can just start to turn(mixed tires, I know, I know) and get oversteer.

Ryen...i do no wut im talkin bout...go try it on the game...and u'll c wut i mean, "seeing is beleaving" if ucan...brake then e-brake then gas it ....

Do u need a dictionary?well i was talking about is grip lines , thats all i need Left foot braking is mostly use in AWD ^_^( i use it alot in a rally game)

the ebrake is not a clutch and can not be used as a clutch long drifter.

i think he quoted the wrong guy lol... There is no clutch in Gt3, therefore, you cannot heel toe...

so.. are we talking about heel - toe here, or grip/drift tech?

grip: you can learn that in license mode
drift: search :)

the computer already does rev matching and double clutcing for u...

the whole point of Heel/toe is to because u only have two feet. but u wanna press all three peddles.. so that u can keep the rev's up and in the power band

so technically.. if i goto into a Corner holding down SQUARE... and the i Tap L1 and down shift.. in essence i have Toe/heeled.. because my revs are up, i'm in the gear i want and i'm slowing down all at once...

That's about it right there. Good explaination. There is only one reason to heel toe. To match revs when you downshift. Period. Since the computer does it for you, it's pointless.

Not to meniton you can't really stay in "neutral" in GT3 anyway.

... on one end I see what you mean, on another I'm a tad confsued...I don't think you would need too much of a reason to do heel-toe even though in one sense it's already done as you had stated, but that would be the confusing part, if I let of the gas and downshift...he could I somehow still be pressing the gas during that downshift if I'm not?...sorry if that's not what you meant but... well...it depends on a lot of things...

reason why you would by parts such as a double or tripple plate clutch and racing flywheel are escientally to reduce the RPM loss when you upshift or downshift or so I figure, I'm not saying it's a replacement for that technique, even though that's what it sounds like (talk about being hypritical...or maybe just ironic...)...I can't see how it would work really on GT3 if you have no actual clutch to use...you gota consider praticality too I guess...

that's also a bit of irony, one of the earlier playstion racing games such as Rally Cross and CART world serries had the accel/brake/clutch but unless you had a steering wheel or was obcessed...it woould not be too helpfull...they took it out since they had to blanace gameplay/realism (kina like with Splinter cell, those goggles he wear that provide infra-red and night visison are said to be not possible, for gameplay purposes they had it in there because they figured it would not work so well to have the player stich and go thru the animation and such...you could bring in Metal gear solid but that was a different story...)... maybe it's my ignorance, I may check it out myself to see just what you mean exalcty, that's just how I'd figure so far. Don't get at me if I got anything wrong...k?...

As for techniques, for drift, I use whatever can get me thru a turn the fastest way I can figure, four-wheel, braking, dynamic/intertia, feint, etc... if it's a sharp corner...feint to braking or powerover, or maybe a interita drift...it depends on the turn and car...

For grip, I can't really recall much since grip driving is as natural as walking, call that igonrance in some form but maybe just the left-foot braking which is usefull in any car on any drivetrain depening on the turn and situation. Take Tokyo R 246, the fast downhill to uphill left/right just before the dual 90 degree turns. I can take that turn at full speed or stay on the ideal line using left foot braking with a stock Z06 corvette, if I tried all the way, I would not quite make it or so I figure.

Can't figure what else to say, guess that's it, till later.

I think i understand your questions

before i begin if u need any terms explained just say so, but for now i'll assume u know what i'm talking about

when Toe and Heeling... or Double clutch u only "blip" the throttle u don't hold it down... u blip it inorder to rev match .. u let the clutch back out and continue braking while using the Engine braking at the same time... the reason for rev matching is to make it smooth to minize any "jolts" in teh tranny and potentially upseting the balance of the car.. (much liek Shift lock Drifting) so toe and heel.. a)keeps u in the right gear to exit the corner, b)helps braking force by using engine braking...

as for a Clutch it has little to do with RPM... all it does is Transfer power from the engine to the tranny/wheels/ground etc... as the power of the car increases u need a stronger clutch with more "bite" in order to transfer that power without "slippage" i.e. "lost power"

the Fly wheel.. improves engine response.. the upside is that revs rise very quick and into the power band... disadvantage is that they fall just as fast and out of the power band... so it's a double edged sword...

i don't think so, i find it fun, while you have fun, lol playing the game... its just doing it twice basiclly

Long-drifter, i suggest you learn your fact before you begin a technique topic...

LD: what everyone is saying is that you are NOT using the heel-toe technique. You are using left foot braking but just using your right foot for both. That's it. Plain and simple. If this goes on too much further, I'm quite sure DA will come in and end this absolutely pointless talk.

You CAN'T heel toe in GT3. Heel toe requires a clutch that doesn't exist in Gt3. end of story.

I usually feint drift.

I do not know if anyone does this, but when I feint drift with my wheel, when I have the drift angle before the corner, I countersteer very early and imagine I am drifting the corner a second earlier, and then I brake. It looks really good in the replays because the rear wheels would have smoke coming out of them and then it looks very controlled.

Too bad the wheels cannot lock very easily like it does in real life, or else there would be a trail of smoke coming from the front wheels also.

Sorry if that is incoherent. It is hard to describe, really.

left foot is used for grip tech. on the EG6 ain't it?
