What made you choose your driver number?

  • Total voters
    76
I vary between my house number and date of birth (Both date and year 6 & 87 - don't use the month). Sometimes I'll use a specific one for a certain car e.g. my 'Murica Viper was 76 (1776).

All my cars carry the number 37, the age at which my wife died in a road accident 7 years ago, also my user name Logicsays was the name of her online buisiness. So all in her memory.

That's a really nice reason to use it (although obviously what happened is not nice).

77. My favourite motorbike racer Chaz Davies uses the number 7, but with 7 being a generally common number people use, 77 is the one I use all the time now.

Use 11 as is my son's birth day.

I use 27 because I was born on the 27th of sept. It's also a little homage to Gilles Villeneuve, one of the best racers of all time. ;)
You know he actually wore the number 12 more times than the 27 in his career, right?

I always use 32 as it is my lucky number. Well it certainly has been on many a trip to the casino lol

I use 32 too, it's not lucky or anything for me or has any real significance, I just like it so use it all the time whenever I can.

I usually go with multiples of 7, but never just 7. Most of the time 14(date of birth), but have used 21, and 77.

When I was younger I would use #20 as my favorite driver, Tony Stewart, used that number at the time. Lately, however, I've been using #9 as I believe it looks a lot cleaner on the car and it's the age I was when my mother passed so there's some significance there as well.

My favorite drivers are Jeff Gordon (NASCAR - 24) and Mitchell DeJong (Red Bull GRC - 24). But I don't really like the number.

I like to make team cars so I normally will use 7, 4, and 1. If I use a double digit number, I'd probably use 86. There's no special connection to any of the numbers, just like them and use them often

I picked "54" on my profile but I use various numbers on different cars. 54 for my number I wore when playing hockey and raced dirt bikes.

I use 27 because I was born on the 27th of sept. It's also a little homage to Gilles Villeneuve, one of the best racers of all time. ;)
Gilles and Nikki Lauda were my favorite back then to watch, along with Rene Arnoux, Nelson Piquet, Keke Rosberg and of course Ayrton Senna.

Lucky 13! Was my number when I had a dominant (as much as you can "dominate" at grade school/junior high age ) year on defense for my little league baseball team. Split time between first base and catching fastballs for the guy who went on to be a starter for our high school varsity baseball team as a sophomore. You can imagine the number of ice packs I went through on the weekends...

Plus I enjoy being the oddball/black sheep. :sly:

I initially went with my lucky number 8, but now I've switched to my birth number 86. I just think that it looks better and feels a bit more personal.

I use 72, only reason it was the number i used when I use to race mini sticks in real life. My friend was 71, we both had 95 Saturn s-series so he made me 72 and we painted them the same color, some of the funniest times I had were racing that car, and just like GTS i was a mid pack guy. :)

96 because I finished 96th over all in the first Senna Lotus Spa seasonal in GT6.

11 because I finished 11th fastest pad user at the same seasonal.

7 because of Kimi Raikkonen and the awesome reason he chose the number....
