I Would like to seen Jelley back in touring cars, am I right in thinking that he used to race for RAC...... but he seems to enjoys the porsches so it doesn't seem likely.

I think Gilham would be a good choice for AMD but he also seems happy in the Vectra so I can't see him moving...

Can anyone tell me the latest about Pinkney, is he driving part-season with Austin or is he taking a background job??

I think he's said he'll go for an Audi if Rob Austin proves it's good enough.

Really outside bet here... but Tim Harvey left the Carrera Cup the other week... maybe him at AMD Milltek?

I Agree with a that..... Tim Harvey would probably love to go do touring cars but if he wasn't competitive we would see what happened with Schumacher....

I'd like to see a driver from another country (outside the uk) to take part in BTCC which maybe ten years ago half of the drivers were foreign but now there are nil...... I think.

Giovanardi was the last non-British driver. Up to then I think there had been a foreign driver in every season.

I say give Stefan Hodgetts a shot in the Golf. He was impressive in the Ginettas over the weekend and is dad was pretty good in a Touring Car back in the day.

Harry Vaulkhard might be worth a shot too.

Thank You..... I now remembered who I was thinking of Harry V, what is he doing ATM??

Nope he's not with Bamboo, he couldn't afford to stay with them.

BY the way has anybody been listening to Tin Top Tuesday on Radio Silverstone this year? It's on every Teusday at 8pm after a race weekend at silverstone.co.uk

Didn't even know, is it an online radio station?!

Yup, they usually have Plato and any other number of drivers on aswell. And there's also Muller Time with a certain french touring car ace.

EDIT: Link to listen @ 8 pm

Previous BTCC race winner, eh? That suggests someone who didn't win a title then. Steven Kane is probably the most likely driver to match that definition. Maybe Stephen Jelley is that person too but as said earlier he seems to be enjoying Porsches.
I doubt Harvey will come back to race in the midfield, he's a little too old now. Although I guess you can never be really too old for BTCC, I just don't get the sense he wants to go back to high-profile racing again.

I think Hollamby is being overly optimistic to match or beat TO-C's results. But lets see him try first.

I don't think it's unrealstic Ardius if the car keeps improving. But that's a big 'if'.

Shaun tested at Brands today and was .5 off the Q time of TOC, so he seems pretty confident in himself.

I think lots of people saw Shaun was a back of the grid driver with John George and Johnson last season but its very much a developing car and everytime I spoke to him last year he was always quick to stress the car was a project and down on power he never expected out of the box success.

I think the work TOC did will help Shaun when he steps back in and I think he'll run solid midfield.

I think Shaun is a decent driver, I seem to remember him being one of the top guys from a VW one-make series prior to BTCC? But I have a hard time believing he will match or beat where TO-C put the car, he was getting into the top 6 at Thruxton..almost into podium territory.

The top 10 cars are all extremely competitive, its going to be difficult for him to pull a triple points score.

Good luck to him though, I will happily be proven wrong! I love the Golf and its livery!

Edit: Wow, just been reading through his history and found:
"1997–2008, TV Director for Formula One Management (FOM)".
An unexpected job to have had!

I agree he wont match TOC's times unless something happens! At Donny he could have scored a podium was it not for the carnage on lap one!

I think Shaun might sneak into the points but we'll see!

Some great racing at Snetterton today! Watched the whole program on ITV4, what did you guys think of today's action? Bad luck for Neal, and a up and down day for Wrathall and Newsham...

Just got back from Snetterton.. first time there.. must say overall it scores pretty highly. Though I did get monsterously drunk in Tyrells Bar on Saturday night :)

Was the new layout any good?? I watched it on TV but it looked like the crowds were miles away.

Well, I never spectated at Old Snetterton so I can't compare, but the new raised banks for spectating seemed pretty effective, It's certainly no worse than most other tracks on the BTCC calender - comparable to Croft, Thruxton & Donington I guess.

Saturday was pretty dead, but Sunday seemed to be really busy, but despite that it was pretty easy to find a good vantage point... low fences and elevated position helps out with the photography too :)
