So... ANY cars can be duped with the "give as gift" method?

Well any cars that can be gifted. I don't think you can gift the stealth or chromeline cars...

Duplicated or copied.

I think he meant dubbed.

It's any car, but those that can't be gifted.

I really wish people would stop with the duplications, PD is gonna catch on then take it all away. That's why they got us so limited on the car gifting

I have a feeling that people are going to be charging REAL money to Gift...lets say someone has all the cars in the game, in their garage...and they gift all of them to someone...while charging REAL money, I can see this happening.

Why though? Quite frankly, I think it helps people enjoy the game more, especially for the people that have limited time to play. I get to play 2, maybe 3hrs a day, so it's either I spend that time to grind in order to get cars I want, or buy a car/reload backup and keep my money for other cars I want to get, so I can continue to play the game while not worry about having to grind Indy over and over again. I have coworkers who get maybe an hour a day to play, now just imagine how far back they are. It also makes it less interesting to do online races since they can't afford a lot of the cars.

Duping isn't hurting anyone, even for car traders, supply now is so abundant for those hard to get cars, you trade away less for cars you want.

Duping cars makes trading less fun IMO. So was that bday exploit. For example, I worked hard to buy my 787B and traded it for a Peugot Matmut only to figure out that the guy I traded with used the bday exploit to get the Peugot. Ripoff for me, but I learn from my mistakes!

I dont see how it makes any difference how the other guy got the Peugeot. Whether he raced and earned it or not, in the end, you traded your car for a car you wanted, why does it make any difference? At the end of the day, you got what you wanted, he got what he wanted, I dont see what the big deal is.

So you have more fun trading for cars that aren't duped as opposed to ones that have been? Its the same freakin car...

The only less fun part is only if he's a seller. With the over abundant supply of what was once "rarity" (ie F1, FGT, etc), you can't "sell" the cars for more. Personally, I think it was getting a bit ridiculous on the asking price of some of the rare cars.

And I really don't see how it really affects anyone else.

Going to? Sorry to say this, but they already are.

But the 908 has come out recently so how is that possible?

I've used the birthday thing to find brand new versions of cars that are only found used in the UCD (unless you get lucky with a random ticket). I'm not talking about cars I want to use for racing, but just a few of my favourites that i'd rather have with 0 kilometres on them. I'm 32 a spec, 16 b spec and have plenty of money from grinding, I don't need the birthday thing to get ahead.

I did it five times today and every car was a duplicate of one I already owned. Try going to the trading forum looking for a 0 kilometre Subaru 22B and tell me how that works out for you.

I'm sorry that the trading is affected post 1.05 but not being able to make a backup for a game that many of us will put hundreds of hours into was unacceptable imo. Having people cheat the system in a way that barely affects anyone else (if at all) is an acceptable pay off for the ability to protect our save games.

After trawling through b-spec mode to get myself a GT40, I'm done with single player now. I'm going to dupe the GT40 so I have one stock and one I can tune up.

There - I've said it :guilty:

I did that with my own Carbon Fibre X1.
I have one that's untouched and one that I use for grinding, endurance races, B-Spec.

Do you mean the 908 isn't old enough to be gained from the birthday thing? If you sign up as a junior member (or whatever) you can get cars from after 1992.

Never knew that.
I've tried the birthday glitch a few times.
Grew very boring and chore like after a while.

The save file was needed to back up ones game incase of a PS3 going down etc. But it also killed a lot of the game.

Duplicating cars is one thing. But it also made credits ( money ) useless in the game. Now you can get any car in all 3 car lots for free. So games pretty much meaningless if you want to play that way now.

It shouldn't matter what cars other people have.
It's your garage.
If PD took away being able to backup becuse of other people duping cars, and then your save went down, how would you feel?
I don't think PD will take away backups, why would they want to upset everyone and their hard work?

People like you SO miss the point. See your type everyday on here. The whole point to having cars and "earning" them is to talk about it on "here". Now that no one has to "earn" anything. There goes a huge part of the game to talk about for the most part. Now it's no big deal what you have. As everyone has 10+ of them already at some low level....

If you think for one second they couldn't have come up with a better plan. Then that's pretty shallow thinking. Level lock the cars so that you can own them all by exploiting the save file if you want. But you cannot drive the car until you reach the level needed to drive it. There's goes 90% of this forum from driving the X1's we see that have them.

Again like I said in this thread. The save file update was needed. But, having it so open ended to be abused like it is was not the answer.

credits now meaningless

earning cars now meaningless.

Spot on, most of my fun come from finally buying an awesome car, for a lot of cr, or winning one from a tough race, and showing it off online, or posting on here. but with all the glitches and duping, there may as well be a cheat code that unlocks everything in your garage.

:( It kinda sucks in the Marketplace has those X2010s everywhere...
I don't see why people trade for this...It's an EARNABLE car, not a rare one.

Nobody has to trade if they don't have to.
I would gladly dupe my hard earned X1 to someone for a Bentley Speed 8 or something.
I don't want to grind all day around Indy 500 when I could be doing something useful like trying to Gold the Grand Tour Eiger Norwand challenge or be learning the Nurburgring.

That's where the Carbon Fibre X1 comes in.
