I know that every past GT game had endurance races but can we expect some license endurance event such as 24h Le Mans, 24h Nurburgring or Spa or even whole Le Mans series or ALMS?? What you think about this...:)

I would love that.. Now I'm sure there are gonna be endurance events in GT5.. As far as being able to set one up in a private lobby i wouldnt know but is probably what i want the most.. And being able to switch to Bspec in the pits when I want to take a break...

I doubt we'll see licensed endurances, but 24h Le Mans and Nürburgring are a certainty. Beyond that it's anyone's guess really. Expect a bucket load of them, with significant variations in setting and length.

THIS x 1000!

I heard rumors that there will be 24hr events in GT5. Either they've devised a way to save a race and continue it later on or you are going to be able to switch to B-Spec. I would hope for both but I DEFINITELY hope they've included driver changes in the endurance races.

I hope so. Online Endurance races would be pretty cool aswell.

Theyre will be 24HR Enduros.. Single player wise.. Multiplayer wise I'm not sure (but i'm hoping).. In race saving i dont care for.. I just want to have the same (if not better) Enduro features that GT4 has, implemented into GT5's Online.. Its all i really want.. Everything else are just uber awesome extras..

GT5 Includes the 24hr track for the 'Ring, so it will be likely. Adding day to night transitions, changing weather, and damage, would make the race worth watching.

For single player thats for sure.. But will we be able to do that in multiplayer, now that is the question... I haven't heard or read anything that confirms this.. That or I be too high.. :dopey:

24hr Online racing is just ludacris. Bathroom brake? , switch to B-Spec, what's to stop someone from just running B-Spec the whole race

We will be able to do it anyway with the new My Home stuff right? I haven't read the details on it, if there are any, but the ability to control B-Spec from any computer should hint at some remote 24H races that are 100% B-Spec driven right?

We were able to do that in GT4 anyway, as well as being able to switch between A-Spec and B-Spec mid race.

I remember switching after building a good lead to make sure B-Spec didn't screw me over. Pretty sure you had the option to switch when entering the pits.

The fact that b-spec is terrible.

The same way GT5 cars are really low detail and are the same as GT4 right? No, it's called improvement and development. Don't bash it before you try it either. I'm sure it's much improved.

You switched in the pits, but if you started A-Spec and switch to B-Spec you wont accumalate the A-Spec points

That's what I figured. Its just been forever since i've played an endurance race in GT4.

It is a completely brand new system and nothing at all like the one in GT4. Had he been reading the previews he would know this. It is an RPG system where you train upto 6 drivers and you have to improve their driving skills by having them drive a lot. So you cant make an endurance race the very first race your b-spec driver does, he will fail miserably. B-Spec is an entirely new game within GT5.

That was my point, it's not going to be anything like GT4 B-Spec. I just wasn't as literal as you, lol.

I know. :) I just wanted to explain it a bit more in depth. I've gotten tired of seeing people bash features in GT5 without actually understanding what they really are. I see it way to much on other forums. There are a lot of misconceptions and incorrect opinions on this game.

Because people are expecting an alternate reality that's why. Only 200 fully detailed, incredibly beautiful cockpits, as well as piles of other detailed parts on those cars............that's terrible!!!!............

If this game doesn't mow my lawn and do the dishes then by god, I will request a refund directly from Yamauchi himself.

I hope they include a method of saving mid-race for endurance races.

This would be a nice feature. Have any other racing sims done this before? I just can't imagine keeping my PS3 on for 24 hours. The shorter endurance races, sure, but i'm not comfortable with my ps3 on even in stand by mode doing the web browser b-spec, for an entire 24 hours. So i'm not sure I will really touch the long endurance races. :X

Agreed, I remember back in GT4 i actually had my PS2 on for Days as i did the Nurburgring 24 Hours, Would do a few Hours than come back to it later..

I remember praying to god that a Power cut wouldnt happen :scared:

Thankfully it didnt :D

But yes a save feature would be nice

I don't believe they have. I think I remember reading about a game that tried it but there are issues that come up when you try and save a race during full on, green flag racing when cars are going top end around the track.

I don't know if I can commit 24 whole hours to a video game, but then again, it is GT.

I doubt I would make it a point to do it but maybe if I had some friends over it would be a neat novelty to accomplish as a group. That is if I can find any friends that can drive for beans.

The GTR game allowed you to save mid race.

If i remember though when you resumed the race AI cars had a tendency to immediately crash.

Which is the problem...

or feature, depending on your point of view.

One way I suppose they could limit this problem is make it so when you save it you still have to race for 10 seconds but all the cars are limited to 25% power, substantially slowing the pace of the race. Then when rejoining the pace is slow enough and the cars are limited for another 10 seconds so the AI has time to catch up with whats actually going on. It's far from a perfect solution but in a 24 hour race those 20 seconds really shouldn't make or break the outcome. Not a good solution but, then again the fact that these are the best ideas I can come up with are why I'm not yet a millionaire.
