In all honesty, I only did about 3 hours straight of driving in GT4 24hrs of Nurburgring. The rest was on B-spec overnight and then I probably did the last 10 laps. It was ridiculous.
Considering the fact that there is a huge possibility that PS3s could overheat if left for 24hrs running non-stop, I wouldn't do it until I really have to.
Hopefully that will not be an issue for the new 160GB model.
Ditto on the 24hr of Nurburgring part.. It'll take more that 24hrs to overheat a PS3.. My 60gb lasted 11 months before it croaked (RIP), and I left that thing on 24/7 for that whole year.. I folded my 60gigs life away..
On GT4 the longest run I did was 18hrs, This time around I will split it up more but Bspec still won't get to drive unless there is a good Bspec point system with rewards.
I allready got 2 friends willing to join me in an attempt to drive a 24h Race on the Nurburgring, I just hope we do not get too drunk to finish the race.
Right now, I'm putting together a 24h race on the Nürburgring. The goal is to get at least 2 teams at 4 racers per team together. Hopefully, 24h races will be possible to do via WLAN or at least via Internet.
Most likely will be endurance races, but what I am thinking about is will cars acually get dirty? Beacuse doing a 24 houre race and you car just looking "dull" like in all previous GT's is annoying. There should be dust and rubber and carbon buildup from the exhauset ect. ect...
I remeber GRiD had that on the 24h houre race. It quite frankly looked awesome!

Now mind you i learnt my lesson, i woun't be doing that again.. But if you do leave it running for more than 24hrs just remember to turn it off by the end of the year.. lol
All I want is to be able to save mid race. That too much to ask. Pull into the pits and save? Maybe requiring you to drive at a minumum of 2 to 4 hours between saves? idk.

I really hope for different categories per endurance, not within the race itself, but the menus, it'll be great if there was a lightweight, supercar, gt3, lmp, etc. versions of each endurances, or maybe an algorythm that calculate the opposition factoring the car you have, I really like endurances and being able to race them in any car would be a nice addition.
I won't have to worry about overheating issues when me and my friend do the 24 hours at nurburgring because his room is in the garage and the November weather will keep it and us cool.

I totally agree with this. I really would like to able to do the 24 hr Nurb in something other than an LMP car. Or I might want to do Grand Valley with a stock car (just an example from GT4).

I would imagine there would be. I mean if rally cars can get all nice dirty and muddy, why can't road cars get grimy too? I'd hope to see black marks on the body work leading out from the exhaust. (I could've sworn the Motul Z in GT4 had that feature).
Oily spottiness on the body of the car, and general dust build up. Not just the aforementioned paint dulling (which on a personal note made a clean car basically feel like it had a glossy glass shell as opposed to being a properly shiny car).

My friend and I really love the 24 hours on Le Mans, and we have already plant that we will do it in the Audi R15 if it's in the game otherwise we will do it in the Audi R10, for the whole 24 hours so one can drive and the other sleep and what ever the other person haft to do, just can't wait!
I hate using B-Spec... I'll probably just pause the game, and complete the race over a week or so. Hopefully the PS3 doesn't get uncomfortably hot or anything, or even better, there will be mid race saves.
Why not including them with SAVE possibility? A SAVE that allows to switch to others activities/races and then jump back where we PAUSED that endurance?

Honestly i believe they showed dirt on a rally car in one of the official trailers but its only for quick second.. I dont think anybody caught on to that.. I honestly didnt till now.. It just popped in my head.. Im off to investigate..
