Endurance events in GT5??

That made me think if online racing will progress the race day updating the used car lineup. I would think not meaning if theres a low mileage car you want and don't have enough money you could race online a few races and not have to worry about it cycling out. That is assuming we get a monetary reward online like in prologue.

Swill mileage and enginewear affectvyour car long term? Or does the cars wear reset to brand new after each race? I thought they just kept track of the mileage in GT as a novelty.

ahhh so you must be a pro.. race the real thing every weekend do ya.. And 5hrs is enough, then you let Bspec do 5 so you can rest your eyes, then its back to it for another 5.. Well I probable won't drive 24h\ 12h race if we don't get save game options. I have many thinks to do so I won't have time... Go to work than go out with my friends. But If we get mid save game option( in pit stop) I will drive it!!!

Um, how many racers (in real life) do a 24 hour race by themselves? I can't wait for the examples to start pouring in!

How many people here work 7 days a week/365 days a year & do not have vacation days? If any of you do, YOU need a new job!!!

I'm wondering if we can do 24 HR endurance races and have stints with online friends. You know, like real 12 & 24 HR races.

How exactly do you suggest someone enjoys the dynamics of endurance races if they don't have the time to do it though? I don't have the time to do endurance races, so it's B-Spec all the way for me and I am okay with that. Be prepared to accept that you are going to have to miss out on doing some content in this game. That is okay, it is a very large game and you can't expect Polyphony Digital to make everyone happy. That isn't reasonable.

With the dynamics of endurance races I mean the pit 'strategies' of other cars, finding out over time which cars are your competitors etc. Especially with dynamic weather, driving an endurance will be a completely different experience than before (and a completely different experience than shorter races), regardless of whether or not you can save every pitstop.

Let me be clear on this: I'm not saying they definately should put some save option in (or that PD should keep everyone happy). I'm saying that actively arguing against such a function is not fair to other users, especially since it will have no influence whatsoever on the experience of the people arguing against it.
But in the end I don't really care what PD does in this respect, I'll either find time to do the enduros or I'll just let B-spec cash the cars overnight if they don't put a save in.

And to comment on ChUnKieBaLLz: Don't worry, I'm not in the least offended by you. It takes a whole lot more to offend me. I just strongly disagree with you.

I really don't think PD should or would encourage anyone to play the game for 24 hours straight, haha. If you want to, then fine! But sharing stints with either friends or B-spec, switching to spectator mode every few hours, is much more appealing (for me) and healthy option. 24 hour races should definitely be run for a straight 24 hours though.

I wonder if there will be races with multiple class tiers? - LMP, GT1, GT2 etc.. Hopefully we can do it officially in game, otherwise we'll have to organise it though GTP and lobbies, because this would be awesome

That would be like a dream come true for me, but i don think it will be all that grand with just 16 people.. Now if they increase the player cap to at least 30 then that would be an awesome feature.. Maybe GT6 will come through for us on this idea.. One can dream right..

This is my take on the subject: As an endurance admin in rFactor I often run short races in rF. Only 144 minutes tops or equal a triple stint in a lmp car.
No driver changes at all due to the fact that rF don't allow rejoining of drivers.

But back 2005/2006 I raced in the WOSEC 24H Lemans in the GTP mod using NR2003. That was the best racing ever. 140-150 drivers and 40 cars plus on the track. What I would like similar to what Analog want is a game where you can have 16 cars on the track and real driver changes. Using the same rules as the real LeMans or Nürnburnring 24H. A combination of A and Bspec racing could be an option albeit not that much fun. Team racing is EPIC!

The same for me. People have their own life and work but still want to race endurances in GT5. A little save will be a good idea for many users I guess.

If possible, I def want to arrange a nice endurance race. Maybe a nice 6 hr. 24 would def be insane, but with the B-Spec Ideas, if you can switch to it mid race, would be pretty cool ^_^

In all honesty, I only did about 3 hours straight of driving in GT4 24hrs of Nurburgring. The rest was on B-spec overnight and then I probably did the last 10 laps. It was ridiculous.

Considering the fact that there is a huge possibility that PS3s could overheat if left for 24hrs running non-stop, I wouldn't do it until I really have to.

Hopefully that will not be an issue for the new 160GB model.
