What if they also add a crane or tow truck to come out and pick you up and take you to the pits for repairs?

I'm all for it as I am for most things, so long as it's optional. Would be a nice touch if it was an individual option as well, so you can still take damage but can turn "blow engine" on and off depending on the nature of the race, personal preference etc. The more things you have that simulate real life in the game, the more immersive it is to me.

Personally, I would to just get damage in most cases. The only scenario in which I would want it to blow would be Drag Racing Rooms and Realistic Cruise Rooms. And DEFINITELY in my league races!

Would be really interesting in Nascar rooms with those guys running high RPM's in the draft. If engine temperature would effect the engine damage that would be pretty awesome too.

The layers can get deeper and deeper. Add in tunable radiator openings that affect airflow and top speed and trade off temperature. You can run a little hotter and faster with a closed radiator opening, but risk blowing the engine if you run in the draft for too long and don't manage engine temps.
