Here's what Erodogan gets as quid pro quo for eating the Russia/Iran/Turkey three-way pie in Syria:

- Guarantee of no new state created in northern Iraq (i.e., no Kurdish nation).
- A "no-fly" "safe zone" across northern Syria administered by his own military operations.
- Increased economic development through business with trusted allies.

I realize this might be worthy of a separate thread, but...

Turkey has found a connection between Mevlut Mert Altintas, the police officer terrorist who assassinated the Russian Ambassador to Turkey, and Hizmet, a network of businesses and non-profits with close ties to Fetullah Gulen. Gulen was the imam believed to be responsible for a failed coup in Turkey and is now residing in Pennsylvania where the US government is resisting all efforts to deport him to stand trial in Turkey.

One of the alleged groups that is tied with Hizmet is the Fetullah Terrorist Organiation (FETO), and in Altintas' apartment, which was owned by a fugitive member of FETO, Abdullah Bozkurt, materials written by Gulen were found. His sister had also shared pro-FETO materials on her social media page.

Now you might be wondering why the assassination of the Russian Ambassador might be warranting this wall of text. The answer came with this Washington Post article where the Obama Administration was planning to announce a series of measures to punish Russia for its alleged interference in the Presidential Election. The scope of the alleged punishments would include economic sanctions and diplomatic censure, according to U.S. Officials. So here's a thought, if the Obama administration is willing to go that far in retaliation for something that we have done countless times in the past, what is stopping him from doing wet work on the side, especially if it is to protect Gulen?

The answer may come from Gulen's alleged ties to Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. in a April 1, 2009 email to Clinton aide Huma Abedin, Gokhan Ozkok, a known Gulen follower, asked for the then deputy chief of staff's help in connecting one of his allies [presumably Gulen] to the President. Ozkok is a founder of the Turkish Cultural Center and is a member of the Clinton Global Initiative, where he has given between $500,001 to $1,000,000 to the Clinton charity. Ozkok also served as the national finance co-chair of the pro-Clinton Ready PAC, where he gave $10,000 in 2014. Finally, he donated $2,700 to Clinton's campaign last year [Note: it is entirely possible that he gave more. Just need to go through the campaign disclosure forms.]

Another link between Gulen and Clinton was revealed in a lobbying registration disclosure filed in June with the Senate. It shows that a Gulen-aligned group called the Alliance for Shared Values hired the Clinton-connected Podesta Group to lobby Congress on its behalf. The group seeks to lobby for the "promotion of peace, tolerance and interfaith dialogue." The group's director is Alp Aslandogan, a former professor at universities in Texas, and has also donated to Clinton's political endeavors, according to campaign finance records.

The Podesta Group is a natural choice for those seeking influence with Clinton. The firm was co-founded by John Podesta, Clinton's campaign chairman, and his brother Tony, a major Clinton campaign bundler.

The Turkish government is trying to unlock the assassin's phone to access his text and voice messages. It is believed that he did not act alone and that others are complicit in the attack, which intelligence officials believe
is an effort to get the Obama administration to grant asylum to Gulen.

It's very difficult to take anything Turkey says about Gulen with anything less than a cellar of salt. They're looking for any reason to discredit him, and so the theory that the Obama administration orchestrated the assassination of a Russian diplomat to give them a pretext to offer Gulen asylum is very difficult to believe - especially since Gulen is already living in political exile and would probably have a valid claim to asylum without the assassination.

That's a very serious accusation, linking Obama to the Russian ambassador assassination, especially if the Turks produce evidence to back it up. It would look very bad for the US to grant Gulen asylum if Gulen is linked to the assassination. That would be tantamount to tolerating or approving the assassination. Gulen really needs to look elsewhere if he wants asylum. Trump may not be at all inclined to do it! Either way, very serious repercussions for relations between the US and Turkey, not to mention Russia, are looming big and ugly. Not Good.:(

Only if you assume that the assassin was associated with Gulen. The only ones saying that are the Turks, and their word can't be trusted, since they're looking for any excuse to discredit Gulen.

I am not saying that the Obama administration ordered the hit on the ambassador, nor do I think that Turkey is at this point in time. What I am saying, however, is that Turkey is investigating whether or not the assassin is closely tied with Gulen.

I have demonstrated, through a few unrelated news articles, that Gulen is trying to buy influence within the US government, and has potentially violated campaign finance laws by directly contributing to Hillary Clinton's campaign. We have demonstrated in the past that Hillary is not above doing wet work operations, especially if it is to shut up leaks. Going after a Russian Ambassador to tell Russia that their hacking is not going to be tolerated is not something that she is above doing. It could be a very real possibility that Obama just so happens to agree with that philosophy.

Maybe, but killing him?
The Clintons have a massive body count. They are "protected", and are not above murder to get what they want. The whole reset button incident is Clinton wanting Russia to join her globalist ideology, which Putin didn't want any part of. If she didn't get her way diplomatically, then she will get it in blood. It was not so bad that she lost the election in that regard.

The lover of goats has started a new offensive today in Syria. Not against IS but against the Kurds of the YPG. The ones supported by the US.

This should end well.

Trump's new plan to defeat ISIS "rapidly" is soon to be released. It seems likely to mainly call for more troops in Syria, Iraq and elsewhere.

"While today’s reports on the plan made no mention of how it will involve US aid to other factions, previous reports have suggested that it will also involve a substantial increase in US aid to Syrian Kurdish faction, with some Kurdish officials claiming recently that they’ve been getting an increase in US aid since Trump took office."

Brilliant. Support 2 sides of a war.

It is no coincidence that German-speaking journalist Deniz Yücel, who works for Die Welt, was recently arrested for various anti-Erdogan rhetoric.

Erdogan compares the German government to Nazis for cancelling rallies to entice Turkish-German voters. Oh, the irony.

Trump’s Pentagon Moves Into Syria’s Manbij
US Troops Deploy With Kurdish Forces to Prevent Turkish Invasion
by Jason Ditz, March 07, 2017

Turkey’s capture of the ISIS city of al-Bab last week set in motion a race for the city of Manbij, which Kurdish forces captured from ISIS last year, and which Turkish officials had long insisted would be their next target after al-Bab.

hieropolis.png
Several nations have interests in not seeing Turkey attack the Kurds, but on Monday, US troops were the first to the scene, with a deployment inside the city of Manbij, where they will embed with Kurdish forces as a “sign of deterrence.”

By the end of Monday, Syrian and Russian troops were also in the vicinity, with the Kurds having brokered a deal to give Syrian forces all the villages ringing Manbij, which would mean Turkey can’t advance with attacking Syrian government villages. Russia sent some forces into the area too to back Syria’s new claims.

Turkish officials are expressing annoyance about everyone deciding to ally with the Kurds against ISIS, but as a practical matter they are probably not going to be able to secure an attempt at capturing Manbij any time soon with so many other nations’ forces in the area. This does, however, put the US in an uncomfortable position of having its troops backing a local militia force against a would-be invasion by a NATO member nation.

The west should provide the Kurds with even more weapons and let them have a go at Erdogan and his lunacy.

SAA (red) and Kurdish militias (yellow) have met and blocked the Turkish army and Turkey-backed militias (green) from further advance.

Erdogan has a referendum for even more "constitutional" powers coming up next month.

He's also extorting the EU by saying that unless Turkey's access to the exclusive Strasbourg golf club is accelerated and expedited immediately, he will "open the floodgates".

Can he even do that? Is that even a viable threat? With the sea border, yes I can see that but Turkey has a land border with Greece and surely to stop that Greece and EU forces are more than entitled to strengthen the Greek border between the two countries in the face of such a threat?

Our government has refused the Turkish Minister of foreign affairs to land his plane today. Erdogan is sending his goons around Europe to lobby for his upcoming power grab referendum and Den Haag doesn't want to play along.

Finally, the sissies are showing some stones against that goat loving ****tard of a dicktator.

And Erdi is now calling the Netherlands a Nazi remnant and fascist.

Special interventions squad for telling a female minister to bugger of? I guess Rutte is desperate to show off that he has balls now and steal some Wilders votes

It was said on tv that they were called because she was in an armored car that couldn't be opened from outside and they weren't sure there were guns in the car. Mayor of Rotterdam Aboutaleb has just spoken and according to him most of the protesters are gone and just a few groups challenging the police active.

edit; oh and she was camping in her car after being told to being escorted to Germany.
