ESCUDO Dirt Trial Car '98

I loved the car in GT3 since you could fly with it on the test track. But it is a huge disappointment in GT5. Although it has enough BHP and weighs next to nothing it's incredibly slow.

Comes in pricey, too. Next to 2 million Cr.

:rolleyes:I disagree, I love this car. Sure if you want a car that will do 200+mph then sure it is disappointing. But if you want a car that does 0-180mph in about 10 seconds it is a beast. Plus if you know how to tune a car, playing around with some tuning setups you can have alot of fun with this car.:D

Now since I see people bashing the Gillet I can't wait to get it!!!:dopey:

The Gillet is an amazing car people are just completely stupid and think it is slow and/or handles bad which it doesnt do either of with a good tune.

Some - toe on the front, turn the tranny up to max speed and have fun. Very good for drag races and drifting.

I'd try the gillet, there is a tune for it in the tune forums that claims some good times, but you have to learn to drive it.

I'd say don't get the BMW Mclaren, feels like driving a long boat. I'm betting it just needed a tune and some practice also.

I was pretty surprised at how bad the BMW Mclaren handled but I got it pretty decent by just using a Mclaren F1 tune.

i'd have to say 'none' - because i'm on a quest to obtain one of every car
(obviously, i can't, because i can't get all the stealth models and stuff, but i digress...)

if i modify the question as far as 'expensive car i wish i didn't buy - because of how it performs', then i can answer.

vertigo - fun looking little car (even for a standard), but totally under-performs based on its specs.
gt by citroen concept - looks-wise, the gt by citroen cars (as a group) are possibly my favorite-looking cars in the game, both the race car and road car (when tuned) perform nicely but the concept, which is electric, is pointless to drive in any sort of race that's not short. (also, you can't change the wheels, so don't make the mistake and paint it like i did.)

I've not come with a lot of disappointments yet, but I got to say when I bought a 908 from the dealership and finished a race with it, the Suzuki Escudo & Nissan R89C popped out in the UCD! I felt gutted. And each time the Sauber C9, Audi R8 Race Car, Pescaroloes popped up I NEVER have enough credits! Except for once I bought a C60, and finished the Dream Car series grinding with it, then the Judd GV5 appeared!! Agggh.

My jaw about hit he keyboard when I first read thes two posts. I had to have another go in mine & must say that it handles pretty well. I mean it's no FGT or X2010 but I have no complaints & it's one of my fav cars in GT5. The music the motor makes is wonderous & to look upon is visually stunning.

This is so weird...I am currently searching the forum for info the BMW McLaren because I am only able to race one more race before it exits the UCD. 3.6 million is the most I've been ever able to save. Being a BMW fan, I think I have to go and pull the trigger on it NOW!

2 cars that didn't work for me. Gillet Verigo and Ferrari Italia. I realize they work for others but in my hands they're terrible.

Cars that I see people complain about that DO work for me. Corvette RM and the Enzo.

I think it just comes down to driving style.

And it also happens to be a prize car in the B-Spec Extreme races :sly:

For me it will have to be the Viper Oreca #51. Almost 2 million and turns out to be a very mediocre car. I use it for grinding from time to time, but it makes the ovals seem even more boring because it's such a bland car.

Neither very fast, nor pretty. I wonder why people keep raving about it on this forum.

What he said!

I bought an American Nascar for one of the seasonal events, did an oil change and then found it to be over the hp limit. Frustrated by this I bought another Nascar, but without thinking I bought the Camry version, which of course wasn't eligible. So had to buy another Nascar to do the event...

I would be more than happy to trade you mine after reset tomorrow.

Sorry buddy, but that's just plain funny :)

The audi r8 race car. Almost 5 million credits for a weaker version of the r10. Dont know what the hell i was thinking....

Have you actually tried driving it? It's in fact not weaker than the R10 and a good deal faster.
In the Indy 500 the top AI drivers are always the various R8s...

Of course i've driven the car have you? "A good deal faster?"... i doubt it. The r10 is a superior machine in every way..Besides i could care less what the AI drive at indy, i still wish i would have spent the credits on something else.

Enzo for me 1 mill gone to waste. It's good in a straight line but don't try to turn it.

In my humble opinion, the Enzo is a perfectly fine car, the only thing with it is that you have to drive it with care.

Sometimes I wonder if we are too reliant on tuning, as if one car can't be driven throwing it around, we just say it is undrivable. I've won every single race I've driven (in A-Spec) with this car, without any upgrades or tuning.

The R8 race car is one of the best lmp cars.
With Racing Medium tires and a oil change, 3.17.7xx at Circuit De La Sarthe 09.👍

To put that in perspective, with only oil change and racing mediums, same as Audi, my 908: 3.21.4xx, Bentley Speed 8: 3.20.1xx

The only lmp or group c that can touch the R8 is the Minolta or R92CP(on fast tracks only)

Ended up being deeply disapointed with the ferrari enzo when i bought it, no way is it 3 times better than the 458 yet its nearly 3 times the price at 1 million credits?.

pleasant surprise of the game was the bmw m3 gtr racer, what a fantastic and dependable racer and race winner for the money.

That mirrors my findings. Don't get me wrong... I love my R10 and I enjoy driving it (also because it's premium), but I have to be honest: the R8 (especially the '01) is noticeably superior.

It's the nissan r35 gtr thing all over again. That is one of the best cars around for your money IMO.
