Now it seems like the rest of the missons will be a bit like the Minuteman missions where they are repeated quests where you have to find and destroy remaining robots.
Aren't all of the factional quests like that?

The Minutemen ask you to thwart raiders, ghouls or super mutants threatening a settlement, locate a hostage being held captive, or clear out a new location for them to settle.

The Brotherhood of Steel ask you to clear out a location, locate a device, or escort an NPC.

The Railroad ask you to find a hidden cache, secure the freedom of a synth, place a MIRA device or kill an Institute operative.

The Institute ask you to track down rogue synths or manage their internal affairs.

Really the only unique one is in the Railroad, since the DIA caches are in unusual positions; the Hub 360 cache was a pain in the neck. And the MIRA emplacements are usually hidden away in areas that you wouldn't usually encounter.

I Just played it for 30 minute today. A while ago, I was stranded in a quest where I had to go through a couple of Sentry bots and an Assaultron, so I immediately got 'Robot maniac' perk which lets you hack robots, it made the second quest of the DLC a ton easier.
Anyway, when the game asked me to build a robot workshop in Outpost Zimonja instead of Sanctuary (I already built one in Sanctuary but I don't think it continued the quest)
Do you think it might be from the settlement happiness? It dropped quite a lot recently, I asked the vendors about it and they said there was a lack of beds, But I built 60 beds for the ~20 settlers there (And I still think its not going up)

Mine told me to build one at Finch Farm, so I went to Sanctuary instead and did it and it counted. It's nice that the DLC (mostly) scales to player level.

I need a bit of help with the dlc
I collected the brain from fort hagen but I can't find a way out. The only door I have seen is a locked security door and I don't see a terminal

Did you backtrack the way you came in or did you go a different direction into "the path of most resistance as Jezebel called it? If you went a different way, there should be a terminal somewhere near that door. If you backtracked, just take the stairs back up to the ladder where you came in at.

ok I will have another look when I get home. I cant remember the path I took since I saved while talking to the brain as i had to go somewhere.Maybe since I saved at an odd point it has glitched on me?

EDIT: derp i found the door:embarrassed:

Just completed the main quest line. That final battle was a bit of a challenge, and then it glitched out on me so I had to restart it all over again. That's now another settlement added to the list. Overall it was a bit short.

Sounds like it would probably work better if you started a new game. I had the same problem with the Temple of the Witch DLC for Rise of the Tomb Raider - it was very brief, but would have been better if I had been able to play it as part of the main storyline.

I plan on doing another playthrough once everything is out for the game.

There is some nice loot in Automatron though, although it was a bit disappointing that
once you beat the main quest line, all of the robot mods become available, which defeats the purpose of needing to find them on robots. I guess that just means you can scavenge free mods and save precious materials for other crafting needs. Machinst outfit is the best armored suit in the game...
if I can just find the necessary ballistic materials for it.

Do you tag them? When you go into the crafting menus, you can press Y on the XBox or Triangle on the PlayStation (I don't know what it will be on PC) and a little magnifying glass icon will appear next to missing materials. When you find junk containing those materials, the icon will appear.

There's a handy perk - I think it's a fully-upgraded Scrapper - that highlights any items or containers that hold junk with the materials that you tagged for search.

Yeah. Got it tagged for search and have the maxed out Scrapper perk. The only thing I've seen highlighted is the workbench in sanctuary, but I don't have enough to add armor to clothing.

If you're after ballistic fibre, talk to KLE0 in Goodneighbour. She should have a shipment; if not, come back after a few in-game days. Arturo in Diamond City, Deb at Bunker Hill and Cricket - if you can find her - may also have shipments. Since you need it for the ballistic weave, Tinker Tom might also carry some.

Vendors are the only places I haven't checked. I think I've already found all of the available military-grade duct tape unless more spawned that I'm unaware of, but I think I'll just take the easy route and get the shipment of ballistic fiber.

I'm pretty sure that it can respawn in containers.

You can also find two units of ballistic fibre in military ammo bags, but they're pretty rare. I've only ever found them in places like the National Guard Training Ground, the South Boston Military Checkpoint and places occupied by the Gunners.

In the Mechanist lair there are schematics for eye bots, at a workshop station you can build this station and then have an option to send them out looking for components, ammo etc. Something I wished for in an earlier post.

So, I've put in about a dozen hours with my female character, Gillian as part of my experiment as to how the game plays differently if you're a male or female. It's a bit hard to judge, since most of the dialogue is identical for both characters, but I honestly find the male story more compelling. I have a hard time believing that a mother's love for her son would lead her to shoot everything in sight.

One thing that has surprised me is how aggressive I become when I get dialogue concerning Shaun. I don't go out of my way to kill every thing in sight while playing the game, but I'll very quickly take a threatening option for information.
I even picked the Institute without realising because of Shaun and no other reason, which surprised me, not sure if it was down to the immersion of the game or that I'm a woman.
Would be nice to hear how or if your game/character differs as you progress.

I was going to build one last night but got sidetracked and ended up quitting the game.

Help! Main quest query, around Institute/Railroad ops:

The "Underground Undercover" mission has stalled for some time at the Continue Working With Father stage, but I really want to bust those synths out, as decided some time ago my main allegiance will be with the Railroad for this playthrough.

So now I've come to the point where Father wants me to record a message to the Commonwealth to leave the Institute alone, which seems a big gamechanger to me. The summary however does say it will be broadcast after the reactor goes live. So can I safely record the message and still get an opportunity to free the synths? I'm assuming yes but it's making me do a lot for the Institute, which doesn't sit right. Need more of a yes/no on this one, please don't give any of the outcomes away!

Do it, it's fine, it's just that nobody ever hears it. Somebody will be in contact very shortly ;)

You're good to continue working with The Institute/Brotherhood of Steel up until the game prompts you that you're at the point in which you have to make a decision that is permanent.

Thanks guys, yeah that has already happened with BoS, but wasn't sure if I would get a similar warning for the Railroad. Will go ahead with the recording, as am just doing PAM missions for now and it feels kinda disengenuous (and sometimes kinda tricky) killing Coursers over and over

You won't get another warning.

The recording won't turn anyone against you, even if you go for the tyrant version (you'll get options as to what you say). Probably the biggest threat to you will come after Powering Up; Shaun will instruct you to kill the Railroad's leadership, but you can warn Desdemona.

Something I didn't find out until today, even though I've put more than 7 days worth of playing time into the game, is that excess food in settlements gets transferred into the workbench, which makes supplying other settlements with food easy.

I didn't know that, but have been surprised how putting things in the workbench can automate settlers at times, for instance I wanted to repair a turret at a settlement with no supply line so put the bits in the workbench, got distracted by something else, then came back to find they'd repaired it themselves. I'll gloss over the fact that there had actually been two turrets before and now there's only one though =)

Brahmins are great too, they provide fertiliser for the crops and increase settlement happiness. The best thing is that, combined with plastic, the "fertiliser" they add to the workbench makes Jet. I never leave a trader without clearing them out of caps, having lots of Jet makes that very easy.

That's before Survival mode comes out... I won't be carrying so much then :D
