Is it CNC metal? If not, I have no guess!

So, anymore info on the Beta testers wheels? It looks like I'm getting lucky, if it arrives Monday next week I'll be happy as can be! I get one week off!

Meaning CSR-E will have handbrake port directly in the wheel?

The connection has always been on the pedals.

Unless they update after the first batch. Like Ive said before this happened on the CSP pedals with the V1 PCB. Only newer PCB had the socket for a handbrake. What is going on with the handbrake though?

The comparison chart does list it but note
* Subject to change.

I sent some suggestions a couple of weeks back on some minor improvements they could do for these pedals. Will be interesting to see if Darin mentions one point inparticular that I raised which I think is a good one.

However the inversion kit will allow people to easily do G25/G27 style installs into their own cockpits and not use the plastic base.

Or it not being present means its scrapped altogether. I dunno. It wasn't about the handbrake according to Latte though.
The CSR E pedals don't have the abs motors attached to the brake, that's only thing that caught my eye.

I remember seeing a picture of the back of the CSR Elite wheel, but can't find it anywhere. If I remember correctly, it has more connections than previous wheels, but I may be wrong. Someone out there must have the picture, it was on a japanese blog I think.

Ahhhh, and look again at this video and the CSR pedals (orange) PCB closeup, mmmm
Whats that other thing?

Hey guys, just wanted to give you an update.

My pedals are @ support being repaired as we speak. I did literally EVERYTHING imaginable to cure the clutch to no avail. So, to the service center they go!

As for the wheel. I am willing to live with the codewheel issue for now. I am going to wait for the CSW to be released (even they said they still are unsure of when, definitely not this year though, fyi) in lieu of another replacement GT2. They are going to discount part to whole of the GT2 off the CSW price for me(I do have a couple issues internally with my GT2, they won't do it if your wheel has no issue). I have come to realize I am more into the true simulator than console sim racing. Console racing simply still does not match up to PC, imho of course.

Support was there for me 110%. I had to scream a couple of times to get my point across, but, in the end, they came through in flying colors.

I am PSYCHED for the CSW now. Can't wait! Just looks like it will be a little longer than expected... Good things come to those who wait............I hope :P

Wth, what kind of connector is that on the CSR PCB? That's not PS/2 nor USB, looks like phone cable connector.

RJ 45 or RJ 11, like a phone or ethernet connection.
The Microsoft pedals had this connection.

Can't find a picture of the back of the Elite wheel, but here you can see the clear plastic connector on some of the supplied cables. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/23798196/Cables.jpg

Bonus points to you sir!

Could this be the answer, look at the new cables.
PS2 female at one end to connect to the pedal lead? - RJ11 on the other

Ahhh, didnt think of that, although i knew they changed over to that style cable from private conversations ;)

The PWTC was the worst with the old connections as the metal frame got in the way of the PS2 cable end. Also dont know about others but I had a problem once with a damaged pin, not being inserted properly but also down to at one time switching between wheels on a cockpit and constantly setting one wheel up then the other.

The new cable is no big thing but nice to see they implemented this as Thomas once stated here it was something that would change on future products.

It is a nice, minor, change. I had trouble at one point with my ps2 cables popping out. Mostly because of the way i cut my wheel mount. The lock tabs on network ends is a welcome addition.
My biggest complaint design wise of the porsche line is cable placement. It would have been so much cleaner if the were to plug into the back of the unit.

That had been addressed now Caz? On CSR.

CSR is the same as always.

The Elite socket area hasnt been shown yet but is much better placed under a nice Fanatec logo.
I think this "connection bay" was one other surprise they just wanted to hold out for. Well Thomas had his hand over this area in the "China Production Photo". Again another nice but small improvement in the design of the new chassis.

This is as close as your going to get from me...

Nice photos, thats an early beta build though, I can tell.

Yeah, since there is only 1 motor used in the base. Also you see the use of the same brand of belt, but when Thomas showed it at Gamescon it had 2 different belt brands which he also stated at the time.

ps. Going to take a look at the PCB of my pedals. See if anything is new. lol

Edit:

With my CSP's PCB I clearly have a handbrake connection. It's PCB v7 from 25 - September - 2009.

In Forza, if you reverse the clutch/handbrake setting in game, then on your pedals, plug the clutch wires into the handbrake port, this gives you an analogue handbrake that you can operate with your foot 💡 fine if you don't use the clutch. :)

I thought the csr was the same old same old ;) just wasnt sure and didnt want to misspeak.
Thanks for clearing that up.
I like the idea of a bay for all your wires. Nice touch.

Not sure that this warrants a new thread and there are lots of Fanatec experts in here :)

Anyone have any good ideas for increasing the grip radius/circumference on the CSR wheel? With the 706 update on my wheel (finally :D) my only complaint is that my ring and pinky fingers have nothing to grip on to properly.

If I could somehow increase the width of the rim down on the lower part of the comfort handles, that would be great. Maybe some wheel tape like on classic car steering wheels, but less...stand-out-ish? Would your solution be something I can buy on Amazon or eBay for example? Any ideas are welcome, and I can take pics of what I'm referring to if I'm not making things clear 👍 Thanks in advance.

For what it's worth.

That might work, where can I buy some of that wheel tape you used? Online maybe?

Big purchase for me tonight, having had my GT2 wheel for nearly a month I still have not used it due to lack of pedals. Therefore I have ordered myself some Clubsport pedals, went for them over the CSR Elites purely for the tuning kit. Also, I thought I would solve my "uncomfortable driving position Ikea table" issue and ordered myself a RennSport Wheel Stand V2 and Fanatec Shifter Holder to give myself a nice platform to put my set up on.

I've got an extra socket on mine next to brake vibe, same date though. Wonder how much different versions there are ?
