Padding my lead!

Dropping again!!!!

Waiting for qualifying...

Edit:

Gah! So hard to pick this week. I'll have to sit on it for a few hours then make my decision.

Oh, and go Regan! Boooo Montoya, pole stealer! :p

Really? I thought this week was kind of an easy one. I had 2 of my picks chosen already, qualifying and practice are just to determine who gets my 3rd spot.

I wait until all practices and qualifying are finished. Then I browse over the leader boards and see who is the most consistent through all of them. Works most of the time. 👍

Edit: About this weekend, so many good names up top. Hard to pick just three. I think I have them picked now though...

Picks sent!

You don't base it off of any past racing history?

Nope. Just because they were good at a certain race last year (or years past) doesn't mean they will be good this year. I pay more attention to who is good now.

Damn I picked two of the best cars.... last week. Still many good ones to choose from but it wont be easy.

man i forgot the that this was a sat night race. damn nhl playoffs are distracting me

Race isn't for another 3 hours. Can still get your picks in.

Not an expert on NASCAR but I submitted anyways.👍

Damn, Menard wasn't doing so hot, but now he's toast.

Earlier in the race I was saying to myself "why didn't you pick Gordon?" Good thing I didn't...

40 to go, need a caution!

I wish there was a caution late.

I didn't want to show my hand earlier, but now that the race is over...
History shows that Kyle Busch has won the Spring Richmond race the last 2 years in a row (now 3). It also shows that Denny Hamlin has won the fall race the last 2 years in a row.
Further research will show that Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch combined have won 6 of the last 7, (now 7 of the last 8) short track races in Sprint Cup.

Kyle's average finish for the last 9 races at Richmond: 5.1
Denny's: 7.5

These were the 2, I blindly picked 2 weeks ago.
I was quite surprised to see, that very few people picked these 2.
My 3rd pick was between Harvick and Gordon, because of their past success (15/18 top 10's combined over the last 4 years at Richmond).
Not that it mattered with this layout(both outside of 10th), but I went with Harvick, because Gordon was unhappy with his Car in practice and Harvick's only complaint was that his hood didn't line up with the cowl correctly, lmao.

1,2,12 isn't bad though.
The main thing I found interesting was your choice of Regan Smith, after claiming to pick 'who's good now' because his average finish for 2011 is 20something, not to mention his previous best finish at Richmond was 21st.

Was a damn good race though, far more aggressive than I was expecting to see, even for a short track!

He's from Colorado, so he picks Furniture Row whenever he can. Besides, eventually he will get a run to match his qualifying efforts thus far.

Updated standings will be up tomorrow.

Didn't have to be an 🤬 and shove it in my face. 👎

When I said I was picking people who were good "now", I didn't mean for the year so far. I meant for qualifying and practice. Regan was 4th fastest in final practice, and damn near got his first pole. Not sure what happened during the race, but though 17th isn't a great finish it's certainly not bad. His day is coming, and I'll be there rooting him on the whole way.

I'll have more respect for small single car teams that are doing with the Furniture Row guys are, than any of the multi-car teams.

Thanks Justin. 👍

I wasn't shoving it in your face, was just trying to give you some insight for future picks.
Didn't mean any offense by it. Just didn't want to give away my picks when people could still change theirs, lol.

As for Regan and your thought process... Regan has the highest starting position of anyone so far in 2011(6.something), but as mentioned above, has an average finish about 15 positions lower than that. But I agree, once that team catches their stride, they're more than capable of winning races.

Men lie, women lie, but numbers don't lie.
5th & 6th is still a solid points week though! Grats

There's no such thing as numbers, it's all luck. Everything is luck. I had bad luck tonight (ditto with Regan's team for the year) and you had good luck. That's all it is...

Ignore my second picks with my name on it. I just forgot who my 3rd pick was last night.

Congrats to LSX and MustangRyan for scoring the most points with 120 each.

Also, I have reduced the required number of points to make the chase to 1,500, this should result in about a 10 person chase.

Next up is another Saturday night race at Darlington.

Reminder that this week is another Saturday(aka tomorrow) race, goet your pics in!!!👍

Please picks, don't fail me this week!

I've learned two things this week.
1. Check if the practice sessions are rained out
2. Check if the drivers you have picked crashed out in practice.

I expect to tumble down the rankings this week

HOLy ****
