A sub six minute lap is still a hell of a lap on a touring car, my best is something near 6.35 (without an extra turbo though).

Yanno.. after re-thinking things just a tad bit I gotta prop the Mercedes CLK Touring car as well... handles the turns superbly and has excellent speed down that last straight as well.. don't know how I coulda forgot that fine piece of German engineering, reckon they gotta headquarters not too far from the "ring" as well.. ;-)

My favorite car on the 'Ring would have to be the Audi R8. Taking that car there is a pure adrenaline rush. It's almost as intense as a ride on Top Thrill Dragster up at Cedar Point!

Earlier I said that the Alfa Romeo DTM car is the best, well, yesterday I did a 6 minute 30 second lap with the A4 DTM car (stock!!! only an oil change!) so I might say the A4 is the best.

2 faves.

Buick '62. Open diff, and original suspension (not independant at the rear!). Whack in a supercharger, add some R3s and switch of the driving aids. You'll be lighting up the rear end until you hit 4th gear!

FPV F6 Typhoon, fully worked. Don't scoff 'till you've tried it. This thing is a beast, and handles beautifully 'round the ring!

I agree with the Typhoon, I had no clue how much fun this car was until I tried it and it also sounds awesome. But my first choice is unquestionably the Yellowbird for pure challenge.

I have not tested all cars on the ring yet

But I did a few laps with the BMW M3 yesterday (no aids) and it was very fun!!!
Still have the CSL to test, it should be even more fun?

I had R2 tires on that lap. The lap was just like heaven, I only did one mistake on the "straight" of Kesselchen before Karousell. Just drove too fast.. In the beginning of the long back straight I thought that I might pull off a 6 minute 25 second lap, but the damn straight takes so much time I swear that the car is made for that track.
The reason why I tried the car with R2s was to see how much slower the car is than with the R3s on. Turned out it was faster...

I'll try to put a replay of the lap later today.

Being faster does not necessarily make it a better car.

E.g. A top-fuel drag car with 7000bhp is unquestionably fast. But I think a Honda S2000 would be far more fun to drive around the 'Ring.

I just tried the Audi A4 Touring car... I drove the DTM race, started from the back of the pack, had an about 5-second "penalty" from the rolling start, made one big and one smaller mistakes and still made my best DTM time ever. 6.43.xxx. Absolutely a very good car.

Favourite Nordschleife car? Easy...the Saleen S7. 550 BHP, no traction control.

In arcade mode, turn up the competition to 10, drive sliding the tail out while trying to squeeze by wide AI supercars on a narrow circuit without touching...Awesome.

Mine would have to be the M3 GTR.........I swear that car was made for that track, it's such a blast in that car.

Old RWD Lancer GSR 1600 is just pure fun. with 223 bhp and 750 kg it just sticks to road and doesn't let go! before that, I tried Amuse's S2000 GT1 and found it fun.. then, I tried the lancer, and.. *drumroll* I did lose only 10 seconds to Amuse's time! with clean lap, I could be faster with old Lancer!

I tried the Lancer Rally Car and found it to be surprisingly good in even its stock form (about 160 bhp). It can be upgraded to about 300 bhp though...

and.... the one and the only...... BMW !!!! 💡 No, really, I mean it, all BMW's handle extremely good on the Nür (except the 120d but we'll let him go ). Every one has its own character (sp?) but they're all perfectly balanced and fun to drive 👍 👍

I just tried the Lancer today and I have to join you guys. It's pure magic! I never could've thought that a car that under-powered could be so much fun. Propably because it's so damn light.
