I'm still signing hordes of 150 coin Spanish second league players, but not making much of a profit due to contracts/having to replace players. I've only set up a career mode, haven't played it yet.

I've heard good things about Mattocks. Will certainly be good if you have a second division team of any form. I'm already with Spartak Moskva though and I have a ton of attacking resources to start with, mainly Welliton, who is superb all around at getting round players and shooting from in and out of the box, and Emenike. Shoot with him anywhere, and if it doesn't go in, it's hit the woodwork.

CAM, you could probably do better than the Liga Adelante to be honest. It has its fair share of gems, but they're mainly attack based. You could of course cheat by smuggling Villareal players in there, but that's cheating. Pretty much the only good defender is an 87 pace RB. But the attacking gems are some real good ones - check out Jese and Deulofeu, Uche, Nauzet, Gilvan, Sergio Araujo and Thievy. There's even a bronze keeper with 80 reflexes in there...I think it was maybe a little bit better last year though.

If you go on to the auction section under the trade bit, you can find some really good players for hardly any coinage. I bought Shay Given, overall 80 for less than 1000 I think. And per game I'm getting roughly 500 coins if I win.
Most of my starting line up are rated over 75, and I've only played a dozen games.

Ok, so I've now got the game :D obviously first thing, head to head seasons, Madrid. So much fun vs Barcelona, but I won 7-3! Loving it already, good stuff. Defending needs work

I'm quite pleased with my nPower Championship team. They play a 3-5-2, the chemistry is 100. Only annoying thing is that I have had 5 online bronze cup matches against teams with chemistry of around 30. After winning every tackle, lucky bounce and 50-50 the other player quits, with me normally a few goals to the good.

Yeah, my 100 chemistry team isn't making smarter runs or getting very many 50-50 balls compared to 30 chemistry teams I play.

And I'm only doing Liga Adelante because its cheaper. Once I get a good money pool, I'll try to get some better players, I just don't really how much to save and how much to throw away, since I don't make money quickly.

My tips for UT would be to buy a few decent players now for good prices, and use them. Don't go out and buy anyone worth 10k +. Their price will drop by a good 4-5k within a week or two. Also, never buy gold packs with coins. I spent over 150k on them and got nothing . 3rd, learn the market and learn times for selling. Eg buy bulk at night time (like 10:30 onwards) and buy individual on friday afternoon (uk time). People buy soo many packs then and put them up for cheap. easy way to make money. On UT 12 I managed to get 400k through trading for 2 months before and around christmas. It takes a while to start, but once your in full flow your coins just keep rising :dopey:.

My worst move was buying ribery for 70k. I bought him and robben for one game to play a mate, and then tried to sell them on for more afterwards , problem was I forgot to sell them, and when I did ribery's price was down at 45k :ouch:.

I'm just timid to buy something because it may be way overpriced and then I'll be up the creek without a paddle.

I'm reluctant to pay more than 500 coins for any card, be it a gold player or a formation changer!

I have my bronze team (3-5-2) sorted, they are all around the 63-64 range, with a couple at 62. I'm on the look out for the remaining players to get it up to 64 all across the board.

My silver team isn't on the radar at the moment, not sure how I will play with that team.

My gold team is using 4-4-2, and is made up of a lot of Argentinian/Serie A players. There are a few around so it makes things easier. I have half the team with the correct formation and the chemistry is around 73. A couple more days trading should get this team complete, then it will be just a matter of bringing in better players.

C ZETA - My career mode is with Brighton in the championship so Darren Mattocks fits right in alongside Mackail-Smith.

I'm trying to play a Championship season as Forest (also my favourite team) but all the names are fake. They aren't when I try that season with another club or as an FA Cup with Forest. I've tried new saves, downloaded up to date squads earlier, etc. Any ideas? I'm a bit new to recent FIFAs (well, anything since about FIFA 96 :D).

Ultimate Team is quite enjoyable. Different Bronze, Silver and Gold squads is the way to go, then? Quite a way off that, as I'm still building up a single squad.

The first few teams I rolled up against all had high chemistry and were unplayable. It takes a few games to get some coins together, but pick a formation, search for players for that formation with the same nationality and/or league and it makes a hell of a difference.
I.m just trying to get this bronze team as good as possible, then I'm going to focus on the silver, by then I should have some coinage to get some decent gold.

I still can't fully understand FUT, I opened my first pack and played my first match VS a 82 average team and I thought I'm going to lose but I won 2-0, what is the next step? coins are given based on what? (if they are the important thing in FUT)

coins are the greatest thing on UT, without them you can do nothing. Always keep some spare. Anyway, the way you get them is through trading (which can be risky) or playing matches. You get coins in matches for the following things (I think)

Goals scored
Clean sheet
possesion
corners
shots on target
etc. Basically your performance. Once you have got a score it gets multiplied by your difficulty and probably which division you are in. From 12 UT it was done on difficulty and which round of the cup you were in. Online is the best for money though, as you used to get 1.25 DNF X 1.2 (i think) for being online. Matches is the best way to get some fun money, trading is when your bored at work/school :dopey:

So I've been playing ultimate team quite a bit the past few days and there are a few things really bugging me. The contracts are way too short, after every match pretty much I'm having to buy new ones (they aren't that cheap) and renew the players contract.

Also virtually every single game at LEAST one of my players pulls a muscle, and about 1 in 5 games someone tears their muscle and is out for 6 weeks. They are all fit, all gold players but they are 10 times more injury prone than Michael Owen!!

When competing in a season you need a certain number of points to get promoted to the next division. As soon as you have a winning streak or your getting pretty close to that number it feels as though the game cheats you out. You can absolutely dominate your opponents, have 65% possession, and 10 shots on target with the keeper pulling out incredible saves on every single shot, then in the 90th they get a penalty for 🤬 all. This exact thing happened to me, here's the.....ahem......"penalty":

It is a good game mode, but these things are spoiling it for me a bit.

Ultimate team is brilliant, but ultimate team is ****.

I'm not doing it this tear until later on, the stress is too much, ask etid how mad I get on it

I'm on career this year, maybe clubs.

Today got Barnsley promoted, playoff final, against wolves scored in the 8th minuite with lamela. Easy. Held him to one nil. But he snuck one in after 10 mins of pure pressure. Went to pens, I won after he missed two, so nerve racking. Again, ask ferg how it was for me, he was there :P

I can't really think of good ideas for silver and gold teams. I like the bronze Liga Adelante team but I want other ways to build up to buying elite players.

I really like making a Bundesliga Gold team. Have some seriously good players to work with. Gotze is just amazing when I play with him.

I'll consider that.

Two things that really bother me:

1. Too often every 50-50 ball is rolling to the team with 50 chemistry, not 100. That's not how this works.

2. If I lightly bump someone off the ball, its a yellow. If my player is slide tackled from behind in the box and face plants, meh, no big deal.

Okay, I'm really starting to get angry with this 🤬. I have 100 chemistry. I want ONE ball to roll to me maybe every 5 freaking games especially when every game is against 50. I'm not that freaking bad at this.

Okay, 28 chemistry. Maybe I'll score, I'll keep you posted.

Predictable. I Lost. Again. A $60 controller is very close to getting smashed if I don't stop getting these people that haven't seen outside their mothers basement since they graduated high school.

So I'm doing Be A Pro and I'm the goalkeeper for York City.

And... nothing happens. Ever. The rest of my team just can't stop winning and I have very little to do during matches, resulting in poor match ratings despite clean sheet after clean sheet. I've tried turning up the difficulty but any difference is barely noticeable.

Well the thing is I was doing fine till yesterday. I was 20-0-10, now I'm 20-0-20.

I'm 1-1-5 with my Ultimate Team

Any further ideas on my fake names issues or shall I throw an e-mail at support? I was in a skill game earlier and Messi was some fake name, yet most of the time he is right. Are there specific modes that I should be seeing fake names in?

SO a quick sum up from me on FIFA 13 so far. Before I go on though, I am not an ultimate team player so I don't really have anything to say about it in 13.

I am really enjoying the games presentation, has a much more Sky Sports feel to it than before, seems like with every iteration it get more and more TV like. Little touches like the scores being read out as you tinker round the menu's and the cup draws being read out as you anxiously wait to hear who you have been drawn against add to the immersion somewhat.

This translates into the game, its definitely feels more unpredictable to play, theres more loose balls, interceptions, deflections and so on. And many many more runs from players, user and AI sides both seem to ooze intelligence with runs and its a joy to watch and play. Even if your defence does get ripped apart sometimes :p . And again the broadcast aspect shows itself in game as well, much more TV like angles, more activity around the stadium with cameras, officials, even the managers patrolling the technical areas, improved player likenesses and the commentary is very good indeed.

In fact I think commentary is one thing that has come on leaps and bounds, used to be an instant "turn it off" for me before even hearing it but now its a mainstay in my experiance. It flows a lot better than it used to and they talk about relevant things. The additions of Geoff Shreeves with his touchline reporting on injuries is superb and actually helps you gauge what might need to be done, whilst the option to select other games to receive updates from is cool, and brilliantly delivered by the ever enthusiastic Alan McInally.

Career mode is where I spend most of my time, and the improvements here are hugely welcome. Being able to play in Europe from the first season is something I hadn't missed or even noticed barely (playing as Newcastle it would have been rare anyway) but now its there I couldn't go back to not having it. They do well to skirt licensing issues by drawing the 2 tournaments (named Champions Cup and Euro League) at random. Addition of international management within career is massive as well, finally the nations have a place in FIFA, and not just make up the numbers and better still, you can still manage your club as well, so I can manage Newcastle AND England which is very cool.. World Cup and European Championships both represented with full qualifying and tournaments plus friendlies. Its also great to choose your own squad as well. Finally can pick MY England squad :p. For the English players as well the League Cup is finally licensed and is now in game as the Capital One Cup.

Everything else is more tweaked than revamped, first touch control is superb now, the impact engine is very detailed and much much improved over last year, makes the games looking incredibly realistic and superb. Transfers feel a lot more involving and it feels much nicer to close a deal, you also have more options like counter offers, loan with option to buy and even player swaps. You can also now change club mid season through the managers office, should another vacancy arise that you wish to go for. No more waiting to the end of the season to see who wants you.

My impressions therefore are favourable, and having only bought it a handful of days ago, I cannot put it down. 10/10, best sports game ever.

Exactly the same feeling, been playing it for 4 days and didn't touch anything else

Once they add some type of online skill level matchmaking system, this will be the best game in any genre ever made. The only thing that ruins it for me is losing 6-0 to teams with inferior talent and planning. Career mode looks awesome, I'm still just swept up in trying to get good FUT players.
