Then it would be too easy.

You must only say this because your bad at them.

It was like that in FIFA 10 and the only way you could miss was to hold down circle for 10 seconds. They were too easy to take, and also too hard to save.

I think they've nailed it.

Is it realistic though??

I think it's the best way they could have come up with on a video game yes. The method they used in FIFA 10 was way to easy to score, and to hard to save, and I can't see how they could do it any different than the current system.
This type of method has been in FIFA for 3 years now, and is used in Rugby games, Golf games and so on :)

The FIFA 13 ratings are up now on the Creation Centre.

You sign in, scroll down till you see 'More Players' then click Licensed Players and voila! The ratings will be there.

I'm kinda disappointed that some previous 5* skillers are gone but then a ton of others have stayed. Couple of guys have really gone up, others have gone down.

EDIT: Just about a full list of 5-star skillers here:

1. Mackay-Steven – LM – Dundee United – SPL
2. Ibrahimovic – * – PSG – Ligue1
3. Assaidi – LW – Liverpool – BPL
4. Elton – CAM – Al Fateh – Saudi League
5. Quincy – RM – Panathinaikos – Hellas
6. Fetfatzidis - CAM – Olympiakos - Hellas
7. Wallyson – * – Cruzeiro – Liga do Brasil
8. Kelvin – RW – Porto – Liga Protuguesa
9. Ben Arfa – RW – Newcastle - BPL
10. Coelho Jaja – CAM – Internacional – Liga do Brasil
11. Lee Trundle – * – Preston North End – English Championship
12. Geovanni Deiberson Mauricio – CAM – Vitoria – Liga do Brasil
13. Felipe Loureiro – CM – Vasco – Liga do Brasil
14. Cristiano Ronaldo – LW – Real Madrid – La Liga
15. Rafael Sobis – * – Fluminense – Liga do Brasil

32. Franck Ribery – LW – Bayern Munich – Bundesliga
33. Michael Ortega – CAM – VFL Bochum – Bundesliga.2
34. Diego Souza – CAM – Al-Ittihad – Saudi League
35. Boussoufa – CAM – Anzhi – RPL
36. Eljero Elia – LW – Werder Breme – Bundesliga
37. Aiden McGeady – RW – Spartak Moscow – RPL
38. Carlos Eduardo – CAM – Rubin Kazan – RPL
39. Quaresma - RW - Besiktas - Turkish Super Lig
40. Nani - LM - Man United - BPL

There's also one more I'll add to that list though: Chikhaoui - ST - FC Zurich - Raffeisen SL

Two weird things though, Giovinco in the demo is 5* yet on the Creation Centre he is listed as 3*. Also El Sharaawy on the demo who was 5* is put down to 4* here.

There's also two other 5* skillers from FIFA 12 I know of who got nerfed unexplainably down to 3*. Small EA errors there?

There is no way Lee Trundle is 5 star. A ***** perhaps, but not 5 star. He's 34 and overrated.

This is probably a bit messed up, like after the January update when they gave a bunch of Liverpool players 5* skills, including Andy Carroll! They'll fix it soon enough.

Seems a small list that? Must be some missing?

It is when you see there were 60 5* skillers by the FIFA 12 winter update, but then there are a few people who aren't in the game any more, then you have some definitely intentional drops of skill. Lavezzi, Sanchez and Pato are the most notable ones who were 5 star and now aren't.

Yeah...what did he do to get 5 star anyway? Mind you, he does have good dribbling, think it's 75...

Also Aiden McGeady has a rival for least likely country for a 5* skiller to come from :) Mackay-Steven is Scottish. Bring him on :)

Also happy Assaidi got put up to 5*. He was awesome at Heerenveen in FIFA 12. Problem is...he's not at Heerenveen anymore.

Yeah...what did he do to get 5 star anyway? Mind you, he does have good dribbling, think it's 75...

Spent two years playing in the League of Wales before picking up ligament damage two weeks into his contract at Preston.

They probably think he's still in his Swansea days.

Something to note: the Geovanni on that list is the one who was 5* in FIFA 11 for the San Jose Earthquakes, has great long shots and also played for Man City and Hull.

One 5* man to watch out for is Porto's Kelvin. Starts as a 74, which means he'll be loved by everyone in UT. However for career mode players, he's just 18, starts with 85 dribbling and superb pace and agility. God knows what his potential will be, but no matter what he'll peak out at physics-defying stats for sure...

So looking forward to a week wednesday now :), Im totally won over by the demo and getting better at it quite quickly. Way better than 12 imo, That was just pace and throughballs, You have to be cleverer and patient in this one, Feels way more authentic.

Messi isn't on that list? Or did I not read correctly..

Also, I'm confused as to why the game is literally titled FIFA, yet there can't be a FIFA World Cup in the game. Only a "World Championship."

A World Cup edition will most likely come out next in the summer. That is what they did in 2010 if I remember correctly. A FIFA 10 and a FIFA World Cup.

I know. I'm just saying for the new international component of career mode, the World Cup equivalent is called the World Championship. I don't get why they don't just call it the FIFA World Cup and get all the little cool copyright things (which they shouldn't have that much trouble getting if they already make the video game and work with FIFA) that make it that more realistic. It'd be cooler to start a game and hear Martin Tyler hype up the World Cup Final rather than just the normal cup final quote. Same deal with the Champions League, I know it was called the Champions Cup in FIFA 11, but I know that's UEFA instead of FIFA.

I know that the web app for FUT 13 is already out and all but, it seems like everyone has abandoned the FUT 12. I am selling most of my teams that I don't use with really good players for half price. Nobody is buying. Usually when you go half price they sell within a minute or two. I've been putting them up for a day now and nothing. Really strange. I wanted to put together one last team to play with for a few days but, it appears I will not be able to do that. :indiff:

I must also say that I just checked some of the new player rankings. I'm really glad that Ben Arfa finally got moved above an 79. He probably deserves an 81. Even an 82 but, that can be his in forms I assume.

I've been enjoying the demo, too short a match but definitely prefer it to PES13, which really does feel like I'm finding ways to score, if that makes sense. Good fun, think I'm converted back to FIFA from when I was a FIFAer back in the 90s.

I'm scoring more and more goals. I just wish I had a bit tighter grasp on Skill Moves, my game is just quick passing and cutbacks.

Me too, but I like to feel I'm playing a real match with real tactics, too many skill would kill the enjoyment for me, I hope online will not have fifa street style of playing

Yeah, I agree. It just sucks that a really good understanding of when to cut back and when to pass can only win consistently on Semi-Pro.

FUT 13's web app so far has been a nigh on joke.

Firstly, yesterday I couldn't get onto it at all. Many people suffered from this problem as well it seems. Today it still said there was maintenance but in a different message. Then I simply couldn't connect to EA at all, before I was finally able to get on the thing. Opened my welcome back packs which turned out to be bad as would be expected, and at this point I'm getting both messages in some form trying to load it up. 'Maintenance'...yeah right, maintenance my arse. It's been just beyond explanation, this is the first time I've really gotten an idea of what EA does.

Well, at least us 11 players don't have to be annoyed ;).

The jump from Semi-Pro to Professional is just too much. I know I've said this before, but its just not even close.

I agree that the jump from Semi-pro to Pro is really big. On FIFA 12 I can win games 10+ - 0 against the computer on Semi Pro. But, step it up to Pro I can sometimes only manage 1-0 or 2-0. And don't even get me started when EA does their scripting. I've been stuck on this one match that I have played over 8 times. I deserved to win every single one of them but, of course with EA's scripting I have been left on the losing end.

The web app has been taken down because some people found a hack/glitch that allowed them to get free packs and flood the market with top players.:(

No one knows when it'll be back.:scared:

I use default settings IE assisted but might switch to Manual this year if theres a better feel to the game. Whats the main difference between the two settings?

Sorry for such a late reply.

It's night and day mate.

I searched operation sports for slider settings.
I managed to get the game set up nigh on perfect.
Full backs committing when they should.
Defenders holding the line and playing decent defense.

Sliders was the gem of an addition in 12.
With a decent set up you will get tense 1-nil 2-1 type games over a 15 minute match.

As for manual passing. It's the way to go if you want to test your self.
Can feel a little hard at first and can take some perseverance to crack it.

Once you have you won't go back.

Maybe try a few games but drop the difficulty level first.

There is a slider setting for manual passing response. Can't remember the actual figure off the top of my head. But basically it represents the amount of time needed to hold the pass button to vary distance of pass.
The default felt off.

The main advantage of manual is to be able to put the ball exactly where you want it.
Play to feet or space. Really opens the game up.
