I see. Thanks. Kaka is only 7,500, I may replace Turan/Isco with him.

Don't know if I'll regret not taking Fabregas for 32,500 but I don't think I need to be that low on coins. After Guardado I think I'll aim for Kaka, Higuain and Jesus Navas. Maybe use Higuain as a CAM and find a Callejon to use as a striker.

Are there any quick ways to get the EASFC experience points? I'd like to level up to get the coin bonus.

About to play an 87 level team... Uh oh

Lost 5-1, made a couple chances though. He had Benzema, Jesus Navas, Ronaldo, Iniesta, Xabi, Song, Di Maria, Pepe, Pique, Sergio Ramos, and Casillas. Cristiano got a hat trick :lol:.

What are custom tactics? And I am with Newcastle.

Ok, I said I'd get to this tonight, so I'm going to at least get started. Full disclosure though, I'm pretty wiped out from work (13 hour shift today...) and I've had a few to wind down :sly: so this might be a little bit hard to follow ;)

Custom Tactics is an option from the Team Management screen. I brings up the ability to closely modify the way that your team plays, regardless of the formation. Tactics & formation are separate, but obviously you should use tactics that fit your desired formation & playstyle.
Custom tactics are broken down into 3 categories: Build Up Play, Chance Creation, and Defense. Each category has several options within it:

Build Up Play--> Speed
Adjustable from 1-100, this governs how quickly your players will try to look to play the ball upfield. Lower numbers mean slower build up, with high numbers being good for counter-heavy strategies.

Build Up Play--> Passing
Adjustable from 1-100, this governs the distance & frequency of passes your players will look to play through the midfield. Lower numbers mean shorter passes, with higher numbers being more suited to Route 1 football.

Build Up Play--> Positioning
Adjustable between Organized & Free Form, this governs how strictly your players will remain within the zonal restrictions of your formation during build up play. Organized allows for better coverage if you lose the ball, as your players are less likely to be out of position; Free Form is better if you want a lot of interchange and overlap from your players, but carries the risk of being more vulnerable to counter attacks.

Chance Creation--> Passing
Adjustable from 1-100, this governs the distance & frequency of passes your players will look to play in the final third. The adjustment scale is similar to the Build Up passing slider, but is more focused on attacking. This adjustment is very closely tied to the Shooting adjustment; lots of passes with lots of shooting is counterproductive, as is few passes with little shooting.

Chance Creation--> Crossing
Adjustable from 1-100, this governs the frequency with which your players will look to put crosses in. For a team that likes to possess, this options should be fairly low, but you want to make sure it's not a non-existent option. This is easily the most self-explanatory slider here; Crouch=high number, Giovincco=low number.

Chance Creation--> Shooting
Adjustable from 1-100, this governs how the quality & frequency of chances your players will look to take. Low numbers means they wait for the tap-in, high numbers means half a chance from a bad angle is a shot. This slider is very closely related to the Chance Creation- Passing slider, and their values need to have synergy for optimal results.

Chance Creation--> Positioning
Adjustable between Organized & Free Form, this governs how strictly your players will remain within the zonal restrictions of your formation in the final third. Organized is good if your looking for a target man, or want to have a regimented system where the striker(s) anchor(s) the attack. Free Form is better if you like lots of lay-offs and interplay. This is similar to the Build Up- Positioning, but playing Free Form here is a bit less dangerous against a counter, as you're further up the field.

Defense--> Pressure
Adjustable from 1-100, this governs how far up the pitch your team will pressure the ball. Lower numbers have you sitting deep, inviting pressure; good for counter attacking strategies, but not so great if you like to be on the ball. Higher numbers have you hounding the defenders when they're playing it around the back; good for possession-hungry teams, but it wears out players & can pull you out of position if you're not careful.

Defense--> Aggression
Adjustable from 1-100, this governs the team's approach when attacking the ball carrier. Lower numbers focus on containment, while higher numbers pressurize the ball carrier more. This adjustment should be closely linked to your Pressure slider, as they work hand-in-hand.

Defense--> Team Width
Adjustable from 1-100, this governs how much your team will pull over to the side of the pitch that the ball is on. Lower numbers will leave you covering the while width of the pitch all the time, while higher numbers will have your fullbacks at the penalty spot when the ball isn't on their side. Again, this slider should be closely linked to you Pressure slider, and more than that it is dependent on how much you trust your players' marking abilities.

Defense--> Defender Line
Adjustable between Cover and Offside Trap, I really hope this is self-explanatory. It adjusts the shape & strategy of the back line between those 2 overarching ideals.

So that's custom tactics in a nutshell. There's no catch-all for what you should use, because every combination of players in different formations calls for different adjustments to these. If you're still using the Newcastle Default tactics, you should look at modifying them to more suit your current players & desired strategy, because that could be a big part of what's holding you back, so to speak.

If you have any question or whatnot, feel free to ask, I'm always willing to at least try to help out.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the write up. Tested some things out but it doesn't really seem to fix my problem. My problem was my defense just coming too far forward and being out of position for the counter. I started playing around with formations and figured out that you can edit the play positions and tactics within them. That seems to have made the biggest difference for me.

Just got finished with the 2015 January Transfer Window. Here's a picture of the current starting team.

Notables on the bench include; Kurt Zouma (79), Azpilicueta (81), Ibrahim M'Baye (80), Takashi Inui (82), Adryan (81) and Lukaku (79).

What age do Keepers start to get better? Courtois and Leali are my two main keepers. Both have a potential above 85, yet they are still at 80 and 70 respectively. Both are under 25. I know keepers are usually better at an older age but, Hart and Neuer are both around the 25 age range and are awesome keepers.

Neymar's Stats are just ridiculous. He has 42 Goals for me in something like 38 appearances. He is leading the BPL with 31 goals and leading the assists as well. 20 clear of second with goals and 10 clear of second with assists. The 2nd in assists being his teammate.

Nice team, I have an all German goalkeeper lineup in Andre Ter Stegen and Bernd Leno. I would have got thibout Courtois but he was still on loan. They are the best 3 young goalies in the game.

Other incredibly young beasts.

Lorenzo Insigne.
Andre Carrillo.
Christian Atsu.
Wellington Nem.
Luis Muriel.
Papadopoulos
Varane

There's more but I can't remember ATM. Will post more later.

The Eredivisie has by far and away the best youngsters.

Look if you dare at: Eriksen, van Rhijn, Lukoki, Sana, Ebecilio, Maher, van Dijk, Castaignos, Mihaylov, Tadic, Fer, Douglas, Cabral, Vilhena, Clasie, Kongolo, Achahbar, de Jong, Duarte, Depay, Willems, Wijnaldum, Strootman, Narsingh, Tyton, Mertens, Lens, Affane, Djuricic, Tannane, Valpoort, van La Parra, Pappa, Kalas, Kakuta, Chanturia, van Aanholt, Misidjan.

All incredible players. Look some of them up.

I had Muriel as a Striker before the January Transfer window. Real Madrid offered 55 Million for him. I couldn't turn that down. Muriel didn't have anywhere near as much pace as it says he does. And that was a major let down for me because his finishing isn't fantastic. After selling him, I was hoping for 45 million to my transfer budget... nope. The board took 22 Million of it and only gave me 33. I was furious because I was planning on buying Falcao and Jovetic. I'm going to have to wait until next year to get Falcao. I want the legend at my club lol.

I'm not sure who I should start saving up for next. I think I'm gonna dump the La Liga backup team because they're so slow and replace it with a Serie A team with some pace. After that, I won't have to buy fitness cards anymore and that'll expedite things.

Finished the 2014/2015 Season on my Manager Career Mode. Barclays PL Champions, F.A. Cup Champions, Capital One Cup Champions and Champions of Europe.

Neymar had been saying that he wanted to leave and the board put him up on the transfer list. I am determined not to lose my 30 Assist and 63 goal scoring superstar. So, I offered him a colossal contract of 200,000 per week and 10% for every goal. He then backed the team and signed the contract lol.

Hopefully the board gives me enough cash to get Falcao for this season. I want him to finish his career with Newcastle United. He is a legend and deserves to be on a team capable of winning titles.

Well if Neymar gets that much in a season it's time to up the difficulty.

Also, IF Felipe Melo from 81 CDM to 64 GK looool :lol:

Spent another 100k or maybe a bit more on packs and got rubbish again. Packs are a complete waste of coins and yet I keep opening them.:dopey:

I must have lost at least 500k on them by now, EA owes me something good but I'll never get a Ronaldo or a Messi, I have not even had an IF yet.:ouch:

Bought a Serie A team. Out of my front 6, only one has less than 85 pace, which is Montolivo to provide some passing. I feel like this team could get to be as good as my main team for fairly cheap, so I want to stick with this one.

Meanwhile, trying to sell off my La Liga squad. If they sell as fast as they run, it'll take awhile ;).

63 goals in 55 apps is not that unrealistic. Look at what Messi and Ronaldo do, Neymar is basically the next generation of them. Not to mention, maybe even better. I love Messi and Ronaldo. Both insane on the pitch. I personally think Ronaldo is a bit better because he poses somewhat of an aerial threat and can use both feet. I think Messi is really good because he is able to create opportunities with his Left foot most of the time. So, more power to him if he doesn't have to use his weak foot. Neymar on the other hand, very similar to Ronaldo, at such a young age, if the kid plays the same way in Europe as he does in Brazil. Best player of all time. Going to go ahead and say that. Sorry Maradonna* and Pele. He will beat everyone if he can perform.

I have yet to try World Class (I think that is above Professional), I already concede enough scripted goals in the 45' and 90' as it is.

Interesting, I read last night that a possible reason for the continuing drop outs from the EA Servers are related to Skill games, something to do with them updating during a match and failing and somehow causing them to drop out.

I get the issue on wireless or my new wired connection. I shall avoid playing skill games and see how it works. Again, I had no issues until first patch and since I've rarely gone 30 minutes without it dropping out, thus not playing it of late.

If this doesn't work, I'll leave it until next patch, see what they do, if that makes changes, great, if not I'll p/x it.

Every time I start up a skill game, 5 minutes later I lose connection to the EA servers. So it seems legit.

@C-Zeta, I decided to give World Class a go. I'm winning by even bigger margins now. Is that normal to go from Professional, winning (4-0), to World Class, Winning 9-0 versus Real Madrid? That can't be right.

Decided to sell my Liga BBVA team because it was horrible and never won me games. Decided to go all out on my Bundesliga team. Here's the base team, want to get IF Gotze, IF1 Kroos (98 LONG SHOTS!!!!!1!!!!!11!!!!ELEVEN!!!!), IF Alaba. Close to getting Gotze at the moment. Once all of my La Liga team sells, I'll have the coins for Gotze and Kroos.

Bench has;
- Ter Stegen (GK)
- Boateng (CB)
- Subotic (CB)
- Gustavo (CDM)
- Kroos (CAM)
- Van Der Vaart (CF)
- Lewandowski (ST)

It's not the skill games before the matches, it's the skill games being played normally.

Both do it, do it before a match in UT and you'll get kicked too.:ouch: Just don't move or kick the ball or anything like that and it'll be fine. One of the updates caused this because it used to work fine.

My new bundesliga team, I still have my others too.:sly:

Still have no got to div 1 though, I was 1 point off earlier, my internet crashed in one game too so I could have got there. First game in the next season I was about to win 1-0, 90th minute, it crashed again, I'm not good enough to have this stealing points from me.:banghead:

My test last night of not touching the skill game seemed to work. I then finally lost connection when checking the leaderboards through My Clubs. Five matches done, all in all.

Signed Diego Milito, highest rated player, looks to have good all-round stats and fits in to my Serie A team. Won a couple of FUT season games, got a penalty off a handball from a 30-yard shot going wide, Milito scoring on debut. Then Skrtel knocked in a header from a corner in the other game. Dominating both, but not finishing due to not playing for so long. Also had some fun in the Movember cup, until I lost to Liverpool on penalties. Will try and finish that today, decent amount of coins.

I picked up Etherington for my one-and-all team, 79 with decent pass, dribbling and passing for 350? Seems okay, worst case scenario I sell him on for no loss. Ups my chemistry too if I have Defoe in striker-left position.

I can confirm this now. In player career, found myself signed out of the EA servers after my second game of playing, and it looked like the skill games contributed to it.

FIFA just made me accept the terms of service again and said I couldn't register an online pass... I better still be able to play online.

Says I have no online pass. Go to hell EA.

Okay, I got to help.ea.com. How do I get this resolved? I've had problems with EA, but this is too much. I better get some type of compensation this time.

Then it just magically resolved itself when I restarted. Ugh.

You resolve it by restarting the game, ideally. I've had that and not bothered worrying about it because it's just a fault with the game that comes up at times.

I also have a stupendously good U21 hybrid planned - all for less than 20k. Less than what's shown there as well, as I already have three of the most expensive players.

So, coaches. Do they do anything other than provide a brief moment of usefulness when you apply that skill booster for one game?

Seems a bit...pointless?

Probably just part of the 'Immersion' in building a real team, having to think about that side of the game too. Doesn't really detract from the game, they just really add barely anything.
