separate race? I was thinking a little week long qualifier, maybe even for next week's track. Maybe even just keep it running through the whole season where placing 7th or higher in a race locks you into the next one where falling out of 7th forces you to be thrown in the gauntlet.

it'd be a perfect mix of both worlds.

I know there's several ways we can do it, and I'm sure most of them would work. My problem is, I know this is my series and all but I feel that if I decide on one thing and then change it lots of people are not going to like it. That could lead to people deciding they would rather not bother, etc. Then we're back to square one. :(

I think by now we know that inevitably participation's gonna go down in steps, so why not try something a bit more fair ans exciting?

epic pics longbow :D:tup:
cant wait to get racing no matter what you decide RT :sly:

This is a series that I have been interested in since I got into GT5 in February. Now with the new DLC Miata, I am really excited. I have raced with some of these guys (dsg, brosif, wardez, just to name a few) in the Capp Cup series. I have had some competitive runs this season, but also some tough nights. In all honesty the 3 I mentioned I have not had many opportunities to actually race with as they are dam fast. I am looking for series/leagues that interest me and will push me to grow as a driver. I dont mind doing a couple pre-runs with some of you guys to see if I belong here with the new car. If my times and quality of driving are that much lower than say 75% of the drivers in the division, than perhaps I will be more of a problem and should considering giving my spot up to someone else.

This reminds me of myself last year, if you are looking to improve, you came to the right spot. My advice to you, follow as much as you can, study the fast guys lines, and you will get faster. The guys in this series are the best of the best, but still willing to help you out in anyway they can. I have yet to find a group that is as fast and professional as this bunch.

On another note, I think the knockout qualifying would be the best way to go, even though I voted differently. Except I think it would be a good idea if there was a couple "official" qualifying sessions during the week, then if we needed to come up with some sort of "B" race we would have time to set it up. Just some thoughts, do what you will with them. Either way, I don't plan on missing any races this season,
also my new G27 is working out great, hopefully I will be comfortable enough to push and be a bit closer to the pointy end. I can tell there is much more potential to go fast with a wheel, especially in a series like this where corner speed and momentum will be the key to putting in fast laps.

For the color of my car I think I am going to go with matte white/matte light green wheels. I haven't seen a picture of a white RM miata, I assume the stripes change to black when the car is painted white? Or do the stripes just go away?

@Longbow - Amazing pics. Nice work!

I just looked at the first page again. Now that the first race doesn't start until November, I think I should be able to make every race. I was originally not going to make the first race this coming weekend (wedding).

Yes Rees, 'cause I'll be buying you a beer! xD

Race format would stay the same as we have it now. Drivers would just be qualifying for their specific division.

Edit: Another option would be to do a knock-out qualifying for the first race, which locks those people in for the whole season. Those that don't make it in could do their own race on Saturday or Sunday mornings using the old cars...

I thought I was buying.. :)

We are planning on driving out late Friday morning. The wedding is on Sunday. Not sure where we are going to end up on Fri and Sat nights, but hopefully we could meet up then? Also, I will have a lot of Saturday free as well, because my wife will be doing rehearsal duties.

Vegas!

You should hit up Pole Position, I travel to Las Vegas usually 6-8 times a year, and there is always a good time to be had at P.P. A bit pricey but when you compare it to sitting in a casino for a couple hours, it turns out to be a pretty cheap date.
👍

That's sort of what I was suggesting but with the added difference of only, say, the top ten get locked in and the other 4 get thrown into a danger pool where they must do another small qualifier challenge along with the reserves in order to get locked back into next week's race. The qualifying for those that get the 4 open spots would be the same as for every one on Sunday.

Anyone else excited to finally have their Miata TC to drive?

Been drooling over the others pics. As well watching some races.

Yeah, I wonder when it'll actually be available for us. Isn't it tomorrow?

I'm gonna have to split my time between that and BF3 fragging.

As in using nothing but frag grenades? :sly:

Yeah I'd rather not have a danger pool. What I really want is to give everyone a chance to race. Just have to figure out how to do that exactly, even if it means running a 3rd race for those that didn't make it using the old car.

Think we'll get them at midnight eastern?

Yeah.. Not a bad idea. I have been there before for a bday party. Always fun to run some Karts for a bit.

Wow, that's going to be a tough one. We get the GT5 content at the exact moment BF3 opens up. Craziness. I think I will be checking out BF3 at midnight EDT, because you never know when PD will actually release their content.

ps - my pc tag for BF3 is reevos

You BF3'ers doing MW3 as well?

I am skipping BF3. I didn't enjoy the previous one. Quirky feeling.

Welcome back again Forced :D

And dude Rees! I'm on PC too! We should totally have some rounds together 'cause Metro was ok to play by myself in the beta but trying to play Caspian lonewolf was just... not fun.

Playing with you would be awesome. I was one of those people stuck with the name they used to sign up for an EA account way back and got stuck with it - kojacked.

Here's how the graphics turned out.

Edit: Using GTP names in case you were wondering.

@ LongbowX - DUDE! Everything looks great. I'll have to work on those driver graphics tomorrow as it's too late to do them tonight. I might just add a couple more of those racing photos to the first post. ;)

Wow Longbow those are some pretty neat pics. Great stuff, cant wait to get the DLC, and get my Miata. :)

Super awesome pics btw.

Thanks guys! Appreciate that. Can't wait to get my Miata as well...

Got the first three driver graphics done. I'm going to post them when we've got all of them done.

Also, you have one more to do:

Sorry 'bout that.

Aderrrm forgot to change his number in the pic btw lol hes still number 1 but it should do

Looks like it's all blues again xD

Brosif and I will be the ones sticking out with our colors as per usual.

Guh. I chose blue because I thought most other people would go for bright colours, reds, yellows, oranges, etc. - turns out either I was wrong or everyone thought the same D:

Yeah, I'm going to start limiting blues here shortly. I don't mind multiples of blue as long as the shades are quite different from each other, but there's a point when it gets to be too many. :p

My car shall be orange or red.

my colour has to be like that as i went for a BTCC Pirtek Livery and its allways Blue/Gold #77:sly:

Also the car i had made for this series before in the old spec 1989 mx5 was Pirtek too so i rekon i had my livery waaaaay before everyone else :p (was around september i seen the thread but was rescheluded to now :p)
