The reason, I think, we've been discussing the music this in-depth is because it's quite simpley one of the very few topics which hasn't been discussed to ddeath alraedy

Plus, I think it was a rather mature and nice debate so far... Which is a huge plus in my book.

The actual racing gameplay for a racer though doesn't need music to create a mood or ambiance like a story driven game, and is why the vast majority of racers out there switch off the music in game.

In all honesty, Luminis, if you had said it like this (which you probaly meant to), this whole confusion would not happen.

Uh, yeah, it's quite close to what I was trying to say...

In my opinion, the specific choice of music is unimportant for a racing game, as it doesn't have to match anything - hence, why I consider the developers choice to be equally unimportant.

I apologize for not being specific enough.

T10 are actually smart guys...They upgraded FM3 models and made new 1.000.000 poly models for Auto-Vista mode, at the time when next-gen Box came out they will replace all "old" Non-AV models with Auto-Vista quality models and just use them in-game. That's what I call smart move.

Unlike PD, which are genius. But they will pay the price. They have modeled super-quality cars, with-super-shaders and lighting with super-small team, in super-long time, for super-weak hardware... It's just WAY ahead it's time. PD almost wasted their time to build all that glory too early, for hardware that are not supposed to run it. Now with next console they will be slightly behind T10. PD will need to upgrade their models to match T10 - 1.000.000 polys and again "waste" their time for that. While T10 at that time will just finish upgrading all their models to AV quality and will just use them for real-time game-play on new hardware. T10 are in time...

You know the GT5 logo is pretty bad. I mean its a G and a T. Forza has much better logo, because it has the F, and the Zah sound in Forza is just awesome.

So yeah GT5 logo < FM3 logo.

I mean we got down to the BGM debate might as well keep nitpicking the smallest detail, no?:sly:

Does the Fm logo have a secret cat? Nope, that's why GT wins. :sly:

In all seriousness though, I'm not that fond of the FM logo. I originally thought the logo was for FM3 but apparently it's an m and not III. At least they made it look a bit better since FM3 though.

All true but T10 releases a game every two years. There's now way GT6 will drop before FM5. Maybe even FM6 the way things are going now. Lack of any sort of new cars or tracks. I hear a lot of people complaining about FM4 dlc packs and whatnot. But the truth is GT5 its main competitor only has updates and boring seasonals.

So yes T10 is smart and is really a higher rated game than gt5. GT5 still looks great though..But thats it. Thats why i sold my Ps3 and gt5 after 4 months of playing. I didn't even bother B-spec after lvl 7.

Now thats weird.?? Last time i checked the game was called Forza Motorsport

btw: Cats are for pussies 👍

I didn't like the first 2 FM logos (I preferred the GT logo), but I like the current FM4 logo more than all of them.

And now we are debating logos. Really.... ??

There is no debate when one is already clearly the winner. :dopey:

Seriously though, I think most people in here are just really excited for the game to come out (I know I am) and we're just playing around. I'd never get into an actual debate about a games logo.

Agreed

That could be said about GT4, too. :sly:

On the logos: Don't really care, never did. I think the FM3 and FM4 logo looks very nice and somewhat stylish. GT's looks a little bland by now, but is probably better at being recognized.

Can't say that I prefer one over the other, honestly. My key fob is sporting the FM3 logo, though :sly:

Only one way to solve whose logo is greater than the other.

ASCII Code!

GT5 = 71("G")+84("T")+53("5") = 208
FM4 = 70("F")+77("M)+52("4") = 199

Sorry, GT5 wins.

Damn. Cant really argue the secrect cat and now ASCII codes. But...I heard the GT logo was actually modeled in China....it was worked on for 3 years.

Chips Ahoy vs Oreos!
None is better than the other because there is no such thing. You can ask 500 people and get 500 different answers. Not everybody likes the same because of personal stuff they rather eat "I love the white part of oreos, ....therefor its better", "Chips ahoy has chewy option to eat,... therefore its better"

Thats how I see this thread^
GT = FM

I don't even know what this thread is about anymore, are we seriously talking about logos or is there a joke I missed?

The GT logo has a solid timeless design that has lasted since it's inception in 98.
The Forza logo, made for Forza 4, is quite frankly lazy, imo. Rehashing the Forza 3 logo then adding a "4" behind it. It looks like Forza III, 4.

Oh, and music wise. The GT series have always chose music that is quality and not overplayed so it doesn't get old. Some music from the earlier GT games are still awesome! Plus the ambient offerings in Forza is generic imo.

I had to weigh in because I don't want the Top 40/radio crap in my driving games. We get enough of that commercial mindless sludge in media/tv/movies etc. :yuck:

No, I didn't miss anything at all apparently.

Really, the logo and the music? :odd:

Well, it started as a joke, I guess... The first answer seemed like a joke, too, but someone had to go "lol GT wins FM sucks lol", right? :)

Like My Chemical Romance? :sly:

Music and logos? Wow.

I say next let's debate:

1- The starting screen when it tells you the game could cause epileptic seizures.

2- The location and approximate commute time of the employees of T10 and PD.

3- The qualifications of the janitors that work at the offices of said studios.

4- The diets of employees at said studios.

5- The quality of paper the game case cover insert is printed on.

Always get seizusres anyways, nether works.

2- The location and approximate commute time of the employees of T10 and PD.
Dunno about the time, but PD will use crowded trains and k-cars. T10 something with a big V8. Merica. T10 wins.

3- The qualifications of the janitors that work at the offices of said studios.
Nothing. In both cases.

4- The diets of employees at said studios.
Rice for PD, burgers for T10. T10 wins (but they'll die of heart attacks).

5- The quality of paper the game case cover insert is printed on.
This one might take a while. *goes to the lab*

And, just in case, this is meant to be a joke.

Like My Chemical Romance? :sly:

Yeah I was poking fun at the music debate, and thought a little humor about logo's would chillax everyone...I guess I overestimated.

Like My Chemical Romance? :sly:

Yeah, thats one decision PD made that I had a problem with (along with a couple others)

Besides that travesty, we have over 200 selections, with the majority being favorable imo.[/QUOTE]

Majority? No, quite a few? Yes , definitely but "majority", naw.

Besides, the only three bands I even knew from the FM3 Soundtrack were the Hives, Pendulum and Turbonegro... And the other half of the soundtrack (menues and stuff) was done by Lance Hayes for FM3, so I fail to see some Top40 stuff there.

OMG logo showdown

Actually I think GT's logo is quite handsome, especially GT5 version. I came to be a big fan of FM3's logo too. Not sure about how I feel about this FM-III 4 logo.

That's 3 more than I knew.

I heard Dan Greenwalt likes to chew 5-gum.

.......

Discuss.

Because in all honesty I wouldn't be surprised if I came here one day to see paragraphs about the flavors of gum each studio head enjoys.

Joking aside, I really am looking forward to release even more so we have something to discuss that's actually worth discussing.
