So, every game should be criticized as much as GT5? I'm sorry, I'm just not as fuzzed about by the modelling of a dozen cars being off as I was by the standard cars. What am I supposed to do? Make some stuff up to complain about, just for the hell of criticizing something? Because that'd be "fair"?
Well, let me tell you a sad tale, since discussion of facts with you seems to be so much trouble.
In 2009, a game touted to be the definitive game changer in racing was released. I was rather excited over what I heard about it because I had to many problems with the predecessor's livery editor, as had a number of other people, with layers shifting around when simply taking the car out for a photo shoot. And this was really bad with locked liveries you couldn't fix, because every race, they would shift more and more and there was nothing you could do about it... And this was just one of the problems, some of which were very serious, such as simply scrolling through your garage causing the game to crash, or flipping through the cars in the Auction House. And this was very bad, because if your game crashed in the Auction House, you could inadvertently find yourself permabanned from the online service.
But this was all different, I was told. Liveries would be awesome sauce, and you could paint over the existing liveries of race cars! Needless to say, I was stoked. So I got it, started racing... racing felt noticeably better than the predecessor, even with the cheap - not pricewise - plastic FFB wheel. Started doing liveries, liveries were incredible, a thousand layers on top and each side, and everything stayed put!
But then, things got a little less happy-joy. As I began making and buying decals and vinyl elements, the sorting began to bog. And
bog. And
BOG. And as I began to shoot pics and amass them, the system bogged even more. Scrolling through them was taking minutes just to get to something! And worse, you had to use their ridiculous uploading system which to my dismay was mucking up my images. And it was taking a LONG time. And this was AFTER a file system fix.
When it finally got to the point that I was up till FOUR in the MORNING struggling to get a handful of pics uploaded to their idiot site and then downloaded in some vain attempt to make them look HALFWAY like they did on my console, and I was only HALFWAY through the process after many HOURS of this nonsense, I threw in the towel. Who has forever and a day to slog through this mess when the same thing can be accomplished on the PS2 - that's Playstation TWO - in an hour or two? And not just 18 pics at a time, but as many as you care to shoot? USB stick to PC... easy peasy.
But... yeah, you know, Forza never really did have any problems, probly never will. After all, having Standards and Premium cars together in a race in GT5 will format your hard drive, I hear...
