Having your car, specially your very first one, to tune in ways you only dreamed off is a very nice bonus to a racing game. That being said, It's about experimenting in awesome rides that wouldn't be normally unattainable by normal means. I totally looooove the Lexus LF-A, dat sound... but I don't have 300,000 lying around
I remember loving GT2 because it had my precious Mirages, all in Asti form... but I dont think that's the whole reason I enjoyed it.

Trust me, he's speaking 150% truth on that. After a while the file management for both liveries/vinyls and pohots bog tremendously after you've surpassed a certain cache threshold.
Don't know if it affects tunes or not, but in regards to liveries and vinyls I've literally had to delete several of each (granted, I had no use for 'em anymore but regardless) just to get things up to speed again. If it's like that in FM4, then...stupid. All I'm gonna say.

Not that I don't believe you Terronium, but with as many as you have now how does it run. And can anyone making the claims of a slowing system tell me how many they have at the time their system does said slow down. I just want to cross test this when FM4 is out, so I can see if they've fixed it or not.

So uh... it's exactly like nearly every GT5 GT Mode menu, then? Because my replay, photo, and paint chip menus take ages to load. Mind, the last one is hovering over 2200...
As for FM3 locking up at inopportune times - hmmm, there's been myriad complaints about similar things in the GT5 boards, everything from trying to scroll through a garage (sounds familiar), to attempting to join online races, to even locking up at the title screen. So it's hardly a unique-to-one-game situation. An annoying one, absolutely.
I still haven't seen anybody say "T10 managed 500 cars in 2 years", because only the most non-informed member would make that claim. I have confidence that the FM players in this sub-board know that the vast majority of cars in FM4 are returning ones (since, you know, it's been mentioned numerous times by said members), so I really do question why that's been brought up as a mysterious claim. I suppose it's attributed to the same person who said Forza is flawless.
Absolutely will agree the photo system for FM3 and FM4 is awful, requiring us to go through their servers, though. Even GT5's moved away from the ultra-simplicity of GT4's system

It doesn't bog at all now because I've gotten rid of a few that I no longer needed. As for how many, I honestly don't know. I've never counted. I've never had the patience to count.

I'd say their about even in that regard, however, Forza is infinitely more annoying simply because you're suffering for something you're expected to have hundreds and hundreds of said item, and there's this apparent cache problem where it literally halts (you can't do anything but wait) and you're just sitting there biding time wondering when the 🤬 it's going to catch up with your request.

I don't understand this. Dan did say if im not mistaken that every car had to be remodeled for them to look right with IBL and that was also the main reason why we couldn't get full car liveries imported since it wouldn't line up correctly on the new models.

I remember Dan mentioning that as well, though from my understanding, it was tinkering with old models, not rebuilding from scratch. Touching up, if you will.
Which, even if the case, is still more than can be said about Standards...

One other (admittedly tiny-ish) foible; while the Cool and Warm filter produce bloom on over-exposed portions of the image in GT5, strangely, the standard option for images does not. Such pretty lighting effects with the sun while racing, and they can't be achieved in Photomode without tinting the entire image red or blue

The GT2 has a two year warranty, why buy a GT3? It must have been less than 6 months old when it broke.
The two Xbox's also have 3 years each due to RROD.
Warrantys are there for a purpose.

I was thinking the same thing. For a knowledgeable guy he doesn't know that practically every item he's mentioning is/was under warranty? You didn't bother to uh.. pick up a phone? I'm not calling this particular guy a liar but when I read stories like these I wonder how many are just being made up to put a bad light on a company. A six month old wheel and that you paid HUNDREDS for and you never bothered to find out the warranty? Never bother to email them to see if they would hook you up? I mean if mine had busted under a year I'd definitely being looking for some help on it.
Now if he bought all these things used then hey that's the risk you take. For all we know the original owner could have drop said items in the toilet, been a flood victim, a electronics shop got robbed and they got half-fixed electronics, who knows.

Despite many of the cars returning, those returning models were already better than every standard car in GT5, so its not like they are carryovers from FM2 or worse.
It has always been my guess for these games that when a car is modelled, it is initially done so at a level above what will be used in the game, so that it can be used in the future when a higher level of detail can be used.

I mean, come on, you can't possibly be that dense to not have gotten that. Nobody ever claimed Forza to not have problems. No god damn person and you haven't delivered a quote on that because you friggin' can't as there's nobody here who said that FM3 had no flaws that you could criticize.
What people are saying, which you probably don't want to understand because it's not as easy to weasel your way out of it:
The loading of pictures and videos slowing down just isn't as big an issue as 80% of the game's damn cars not having cockpits, looking like last-gen stuff and being locked out of features!
So, what am I supposed to do?! Critice Forza 3 as much for loading stuff slowly as I would criticize GT5 for having 800 PS2 cars?!
There just isn't the lack of a single palyer career to be criticized, the lack of mechanical damage or basically every feature being half-assed! Of course, there's other stuff to be criticized, but I just can't give a game I'd rate as a 9/10 (FM) as much criticism as I would give a game that I consider to be a 7.5/10 (GT). But maybe, to you, having standard cars isn't as big of a deal as the loading of your liveries slowing down once you've amassed a good number of them? Maybe not having decent mechanical damage isn't as much of an issue to you as your photos taking long to upload, I don't know, but neither do I care!
I mean, it's obvious by now that you're reading into posts what you want to read there, so you can paint whomever you want as claiming Forza 3 as being perfect. Maybe you're actually so deluded by now that you're actually believing that, I don't know. Maybe it's just your style of dealing with things, who knows?
But show me a flaw in Forza that's as in-you-face, as glaring and as inevitable as the standard cars. Oh, and a quote of someone in this thread claiming Forza to be perfect, especially me!

You know, the thign for me is, I'd liked to see PD handle things a certain way. Not implementing stuff they can't get to work right. Drop the level of detail on their cars a bit to get a decent amount of premiums in. Just two example, but what am I supposed to do now that T10 is doing exactly that? Change my stance towards the whole matter and criticize them for not cramming weather into the game? Criticize them for not going overboard with Autovista-level cars? I can't very well criticize them for what I wanted PD to do, can I?! And they're doing that on a lot of stuff. Not everywhere, mind you, there are flaws, as there have always been.
But I'm far more content with the way they're approaching their game with a broad focus instead of focusing on some of the aspects and totally neglecting others.
So, with that said: What am I supposed to do? I like the approach T10 is taking better, I can't find flaws that are as glaring in FM3 or FM4 (yet), so what should I do? Make additional stuff up to complain about? Complain about things I like? Blow things out of proportion?
Just so I can criticizie both games equally and appear "unbiased" and "fair" to some folks in here? I don't think so.

Apparently the part that broke on my GT2 wasn't under warranty. According to them. It was a bearing that basically exploded and destroyed the inside of the wheel. Also they probably could care less. It's Fanatec's customer support we are talking about here. They have a reputation for being horrible. Hopefully the guy from SRT is going to fix that...
The 360's I bought used for 20 bucks from friends. I won't pay for a microsoft product full price. Although, I must say that I can't wait for when I get enough money to buy a Windows pc. But the hardware is done by Asus. So only the OS counts as Microsoft.

I hate Microsoft also but I gotta hand it to them, they have the best gaming experience on the planet right now. I wouldn't buy an OS from them if my life depended on it but I'll buy that Xbox. That's why I've been Solaris, AmigaOS, MacOS, OS X, LINUX, etc. for the past 20 years.

Not familiar with that site. Apparently my bearing had a problem fairly early in it's life, and eventually wore down and just exploded.
And yeah i'm still going to buy a wheel for Fanatec. I love it, the motors were amazing, the wheel is comfortable, and the carbon paddle shifters feel amazing to me. And not to mention the Clubsport pedals are better than god himself for sims. I don't want plastic everywhere like on the G25's and 7's.
@ T.O. - I own a 15inch MacBook Pro right now. I like it a lot. But for the price it's just not worth it. I spent $1800 on it and got; 2Ghz i7, 4GB ram, 500GB HD, and an AMD Radeon HD 6490M 256 MB graphics card. For 400 bucks less. I can get the same screen size. and a whole lot more power from Asus with the G53SX which has; 2.6(I think)Ghz i7, 12GB ram but i'm upgrading to 16, 750GB HD, and a Nvidia GeForce GTX 560M 2GB graphics card. Yeah it has windows, but I can play my games that I play on my MacBook Pro (iRacing, League of Legends and Minecraft) much much more effeciently. Not to mention I can get Adobe CS5 Master collection, Songbird, and Microsoft office.

Yep, TD does indeed love to put words in peoples mouths. And when you reply to him and explain that FM is not flawless and even list some of those flaws, like shifting vinyls, removal of public lobbies, AWD mess up, less than perfect cockpits, bad lighting model, etc. he just ignores you like you never existed or replied to him. He then moves onto the next person pointing out a flaw in GT5 and says the exact same thing.
So for his benefit.
Forza Motorsport 3 is not a perfect game. It has many problems.

If we are going to compare loading issues between GT5 and Forza...... I think GT would lose that one.
The user interface is awful.
Being connected to PSN oddly alters loading times too. Sometimes it just hangs forever.
If loading liveries bugs you changing oil must be a nightmare.
GT still has the best game case however.

I've never encountered slow loading time on GT5. Just the occasional lobby that freezes up. Guess 40mbps here in Japan helps. And the fact that the servers are very near me.
Although I will admit. The online racing is much better in FM. You have to have good internet to run GT with the same race quality as FM. But I don't have to worry about that since I have good enough speed to run the lobby on very high race quality.

You are seriously telling me you had a bearing 'explode' so violently it took the entire internals of the wheel away, and you sent it back to Fanatec who told you it's not their fault, and to do one..
I'm not buying that at all..
