I thought EcoBoost was already confirmed.
Look into this thread, page 10 and forward it starts getting good, page 12 and up you're getting GREAT info. Main sources are Boomer, and "goesfast"Care to divulge your "inside sources"? I don't trust a rumor mill web site/forum (in this case that Mustang forum). Unless this source is a Ford engineer or works for the corporate office I highly doubt anyone really know what's coming and how much of it is indeed coming.
God, I hope so. I mean, five-speed slushboxes are genuinely adequate, but for the manual gearbox... It just makes sense. Put in the outrageously tall sixth gear and run similar ratios to the current box, dodge that "Gas Guzzler" tax. Pretty much, it just makes sense. Especially in the light of more powerful engines coming on board.
Now, Ford has to address one other issue:
Please, please, please offer a legitimately awesome green color on the car. The lime/vomit green is not cool. No, it doesn't have to be Bullitt-edition Highland Green. But please, c'mon, offer a better color. The car deserves it.
I'm betting that there will be on the 400 BHP Coyote version next year, as the bump in displacement and power should increase the fuel consumption a fair bit. Of course, its a guess, but it makes sense.

As Per Ford Parts Division Info.
Listed as Specific 2011 Mustang Powertrains. I have Part Numbers and All Specific Engine Component part Numbers. Most are Mustang Specific Part Numbers. They are Different Components than Listed for Milan Zepher Etc.
3.7 Litre V6 4v Auto & Standard Trans Listings
5.0 L 4V Standard & Auto Trans Listings.
5.4L 4V Supercharged Listing.
I am Surprized the 5.4 is still Listed. I was Expecting a 5.0L Twin Turbo. Perhaps 2012. I will Dig for More Specifics and Update.
Enjoy,
KC
The V6 at $19,000-21,000 is going to be a cracking good deal. I might of found my new daily driver. I can wait if necessary.![]()
But you have the Monaro, Falcon and the Utes! I still wouldn't trade.![]()
Although GM nixed their plans to produce RHD variants of the Camaro, Performax will be doing commissioned conversions in Australia starting this month.
Not exactly cheap, but it counts, right?
Otherwise, we're waiting on that damn Toyobaru.
I'd be waiting for the Toyobaru mainly because its the successor to the car I already have, and that it is supposed to be cheap - crazy cheap - like, less than $20K to start, cheap, here in North America.
Otherwise, it fits in the segment just fine. Although it would be a better competitor for the Genesis 2.0T, by price (and the like), it would line up just fine with a V6 Mustang and Camaro.
If they use an I4 the weight might not be that much of an issue since its a phyiscally smaller engine.
