I'm pretty sure they're standard kerbs though, they're all like that at every track. Also even if it was the cause the tyres shouldn't really be destroying themselves so catastrophically.

He is right that the endurance of the tires could be a factor here, and the Kerbs do have different sizes at different circuits, according to himself and DC.
He could have been taking a different line. He's well over the kerbs in the onboards. If he's taking more kerb than other drivers, he may be off it before the offending sidewall-cutting edge.
Terrific race! plenty of action and drama and once again there are more questions than answers regarding the tyres, the action after the second safety car left me breathless!
However, supposedly the FIA and Pirelli will start having talks. Paul Hembry needs to shove his fist up their 🤬 due to the fact that the FIA asked for artificial tire wear. Also, the FIA could have jumped over the teams and said "yes, we will have you bring back the kevlar tires". Ferrari also have another test coming up with Pirelli that will use the 2011 car with 2013 parts on it (like I said and told HKS Racer).
So soon within the next days I think we will be talking about tires full on.

You tree'd me...nah I kid, but to be serious it does have to bring into question what went on with the previous two tests. They claimed MGP used parts and didn't just test tires, and I think after getting away with it and seeing MGP not get the punishment "they thought" the team should have... Ferrari seem to think they can do this and not have to worry. I could see them saying "well technically it is the 2011 contender"
More on the Pirelli meeting, its not in Paris (they got that wrong) its at the Nurburgring during the race weekend, all the team managers will be there along with Charlie Whiting, who'll chair the meeting..
