I've been after the Formula GT car for a long time, you need to be lvl24 to buy it, im 25 A-spec and 28 B-spec and i've checked after every event and have not seen it yet, i saw it last at lvl22. It's kinda ridiculous how much of a lottery it is to even get the opportunity to buy the car, i want to compete in the event bah.

These kind of things are really, REALLY annoying to me. I try to say good things about GT5, but fundamental flaws like this really dampen my enthusiasm. Same goes for the ENTIRE used car system.

It can be a hassle but there's plenty of other things you can do in the meantime. It does make it more satisfying when it finally shows up too.

Found my Formula GT about 3 hours ago... then promptly went and did the challenge. Sooooe tired now. I don't know how anyone can do the endurance races. 20 laps of 6 circuits has done me in :D lol

I won all by a few seconds... except the last one, which was in the rain, and so I won by two full laps, on my regular racing soft tires. I think there's a bug there that needs to be worked out :D lol

I already had a Fireblade, but for the Extreme level 21 ticket, I got a Nomad Diablo race car :)

Sorry, this is kind of off topic but i don't think it's worth a whole thread. Does anyone know the max hp for the formula gt? I've been doing b spec endurance races since I've been more busy lately and noticed my hp slowly decreasing but i don't remember the hp it started with. Not sure if it's worth an engine rebuild yet.

Anyone have tips/suggestions and possibly tuning settings for the A-Spec Formula GT race? This is my first Gran Turismo game and so far I've been doing pretty good. I'm able to handle the fastest cars in the game but this GT F1 is ridiculous! I can't seem to stop spinning out.

I just bought the FGT and it appeared the first time I did a full refresh(all 5 sections) after I reached level 24 in both A-Spec and B-Spec. I was A-Spec 24 and low B-Spec and kept checking while raising my B-Spec and it never appeared.

So can someone confirm this for me?

The Car is 4.81 million credits and you need to be level 24 to buy it?

I know alot about F1 as it goes, and no the FGT cars would not lap the F1 cars, the F1 cars are superior aerodynamically to the FGT which was designed based on the early 00's F1 cars, the FGT has been around and unchanged since GT3 back in 2001 and the AI drivers are slow as ****, a little bit of extra power will not help them at all. Take into account that the 2004 F1 cars were extremely powerful, yet the lower powered 2010 cars reached a level aerodynamically that allowed them to run faster laptimes than the holder of most of the lap records the 2004 car. The 2004 cars were running over 900bhp, the current cars are only putting out around 750bhp. Aerodynamics mean everything.

Theres more than enough to outweigh the difference. I've been driving road cars against AI in racing cars and winning, i was able to beat the FGT in gran turismo 4 with LMP cars, i'm pretty sure i would slaughter the AI in the F10 or F2007.
To right mate the AI are terribly slow and it just goes to show how far we have come in the last 6 years or so. You are 100% in terms of the f1 cars and how much they have improved aerodynamically over the years and in 2013 engine sizes are only going to be 1.6l v4s and im telling you know they will be just as fast if not faster then todays current cars :)

Confirmed. And you'll need another 1,000,000 cr. to do an engine rebuild and chassis restore to get the full potential.

I didn't bother with the engine or chassis rebuild. Just did an oil change and add some racing soft tires, and off I went. Won all the events easily enough. HP was around 935 or 965 (I forget which), but I knew there was no other upgrades to increase it, so I wasn't worried about being left in the dust.

Thanks. But I have another question. There's different tuning settings for every race but as far as I know, you can't change the tuning settings once you start a championship series. So how would that work?

You can change your tune before each race in the series. Before start, its the 3rd options on the right side.

Edit: The only option you really need to tune is the gears. Everything else like LSD, Suspension, imo is more useful only for time attacks. The general tune provided in the 1st page would work for most of the tracks.

I'm new to this site and I just got my formula gt. For some reason it is really hard to drive for me can someone add me and help me out please my psn is dom00000

I disagree, changing brake bias and suspension to suit the track is definitely beneficial.

Never said it's not beneficial, definitely is. But saying to beat the AI, you don't need fiddle with setting except the gears.

Time attack or getting the fastest lap possible on a selective course, tuning makes a difference.

You can definitely beat them without changing the settings but every advantage helps. In B-spec especially it helps to use every advantage possible in that series.

You are 100% correct, B Spec is a whole different story. Without a perfect car, they are hopeless.

AAArgh.. i hate this when i was 2 mil off i saw the car, now when i have enough money the car isnt there. How often does it show up or not? very rare.. i hope not its the last event i wanna finish it.

The FGT car appeared today when I had 4.6M - went and done a few more grinds on Indy, went back to the UCD but, alas... t'was gone.

Ah well.

Dude, that's why you don't check beforehand!! I waited until I had the money before ever looking for it.

I have it now though... :)

Oh wow, thanks! I didn't know that, I'll try it as soon as I get home. I actually practiced a little earlier today and did a lot better than I was doing yesterday. Hopefully the custom tunes will be the little push I need.

I would have sold some cars or used the birthday glitch a couple times to get the other 200k. Unless you're super patient and can wait a while before buying it.
