Yep, he was probably thinking screw that idea, I'm making sure of getting fastest lap. Looks like he didn't need it in the end but makes the margin between him and Webber bigger. He also has the fastest pole and race lap ever on this track too soon as it is new ;).

Hmm. I agree with the sentiment, but I don't know if I would take it that far. Senna and Prost drove like that for several years, and while they certainly wrecked each other a lot, their rivalry didn't kill either of them.

Indeed. Plus Hamilton and Massa don't have the same ability that Senna and Prost had. Also one world championship between them (in fact, probably the same one :lol: ) compared to seven.


It won't take much more of their combined stupidity before the rest of grid are wearing "LH" or "FM" (or both) on their helmets.
 
im going to start rooting for cars instead of drivers now.... now that i know its 95% car, 5% driver.... i havnt seen a driver overtake another driver while having to do it over again because that same driver took the position back....its always one car overtaking another car and thats it, good night.

Seriously though. Did anyone else notice that Karthikeyan held up just about every driver who came up to lap him? There should be some sort of penalty coming his way. Every time he eventually got passed, the passing driver would shake a fist at him.

I'm a Vettel fan and I found it extremely dull.
 
Many a fist were shaken this race, I love that it's the same hand gesture by all drivers, it's kind of a 5 sided pyramid they do lol.

I understand what you are getting at: I was a Schumi fan in his reign (and still am). But you're blind if you don't see how for the rest of us, combined with the return to exciting overtaking processional racing (in this race), it might have been a bore-fest.

I think today has proven that Hamilton is an idiot and Massa is a liability. And that they cannot both be on the same piece of track at the same time in any situation. One of them - either - needs to leave F1 before one of them dies.

Very true. This must have been the 5th time they've made notable contact in a race this year - Monaco, Britain, Singapore, Suzuka, and now India. Although, to be fair, couldn't one of them alternatively...just drive a slower car? Massa is virtually destined for Sauber after his ability (what there is left of it anyway) starts decaying from old age.
 
I'll admit, it wasn't the most exciting race I've seen. But there was still quite a bit of action. So I'm struggling to see why people are calling this the most boring race of the season. I suppose I'm just an optimist.

^ This. For me there's a separation between seeing your favourite driver win and it being an exciting race. It can be an exciting race and your favourite driver can come last, or it can be dull as ditchwater and your favourite driver can win. They're mutually exclusive.

Of course, it just happens that two of Button's wins this season have been two of the most exciting races of the year (Japan didn't grab me that much)...

To be honest most of this seasons end has been a bit boring thus far. Korea was just a Hamilton-Webber fest, although Japan was good, partially because someone could actually challenge Vettel. This died off once the race came to the conclusion - or before, actually. The beginning was much better - and few races in the 61 years this has been around have come remotely close to Canada this year.
