Forza 4 Demo Thread

That video mean nothing if we cant see the actual wheel (controller) input. How are we supposed to tell that's not exactly what input is being given to the wheel or how much it's off by? We need to see the person controling it and what he is doing to be able to tell where it is going wrong or if it's not.

BTW another thing is you might want to actually explain what your trying to show and not just post a video with no comment at all.

It actively changes the steering angle to help you get out of a slide. That is an assist if I've ever seen one.

Here's your evidence. If you deny the presence of the assist after seeing this you might as well deny the moon landing and argue that the sky isn't blue.

This is anecdotal evidence, it doesn't prove anything. I know at least one person, with a Fanatec GT2 wheel, who tried to reproduce this and couldn't.

There looks to be a slight jerk to the right after the wheel goes full lock left but we have no idea if that's whats being done with the controller or wheel or if he is actually consistently holding the controller or wheel to the left. He didn't explain anything.

It's not anecdotal evidence. I'm sorry you don't believe it but that doesn't make it any less of a fact. Now if you'd please leave and take your unneeded skepticism with you we'd all appreciate it. Come back when you have evidence proving the assist isn't there.

T10 explained it. If you look, when the wheel jerks, it doesnt move the front tires of the car. Read Dans snippet about it, he explained what people are seeing.

At :10 when it suddenly flies to opposite lock. You can't whip a 911 wheel through 450 degrees of travel that fast. Then it snaps back to its actual position when the game decides the car's done sliding.

I don't even know how to argue with people like you who can't see reason or logic. Why is Turn 10's word (who have been known to be less than truthful in the past) worth more than HARD EVIDENCE and MULTIPLE USERS experiencing the same thing?

Again, we have hard evidence and lots of personal experience. You have NOTHING. Stop blindly defending Turn 10.

The assist exists. This is a fact. Arguing against facts makes you look like a fool. I suggest you save face and give up now.

Actually I dont have the prove there is no Giant, Pink, Hippo in my backyard. Why? Because I never said there was. You did. And who the Hell are you to tell someoen to leave? Are you telling someone they are not allowed to post in this thread?

People I actually trust, have tried to replicate what was in that video, and it simply doesn't happen for them. They all used a 900 degree wheel that was working properly. The devs say everything is fine too.

Hey, guess what? This is the Forza Demo Thread, not the thread talking about the imaginary steering assists. If you got a problem with my posts, then report them, and stop backseat moderating. You are not a mod, you don't get to tell me or anyone else what to do.

Ahh. I didn't look to see if the tires moved with the telemetry. That's why it would have been nice if he commented on what we were supposed to look for.

ANYWAY, I played the demo a little and I enjoyed it (controller user).

The only thing about the demo I hated was that I wanted to race the M5 but you can only use it during the Rivals traffic thing. No biggie since I know I can thrash the crap out of it in the game. Fun demo and has way more to it than the FM3 demo did.

I can tell between FM4, BF3, and GT5 that my homework is going to have a hard time convincing me that it needs to be done lol.

Dude. No need for that. He has a point. Look at the front tires in that video. They don't jerk right like the telemetry shows.

What I think happens is it goes into easy full lock and auto corrects like a joypad assist or for Logitech fx/MS wheel users. 900 degree works on the Fanatec but underlying is the game flips on full lock for Outrun style drifting on joypad/logitech fx/MS wheel. All you do is turn 90 and you slot into safe oversteer and auto correct is happening all the time.

In the video I posted the driving wheels snap back even though I haven't moved the steering wheel. Also the game throws in full lock very early. The auto correct happens quite a lot.

I'd love to hear from Thomas of Fanatec.

ANYWAY, even though the Cougar was the slowest car I had the most fun with it. Such a cool/fun car to drive.

Thank you, Sephy. I haven't had the chance to try the Cougar, but it looks fun on the video. I despise this demo because it wants me to be comatose until the 11th. :lol:
